I'm learning to become a SS designer and lots of people say you don't need to pre design in Figma with SS but the way you've described your reasoning and shown your work flow makes so much sense to me re client edits! Thanks for taking the time to make this. Now I just need to learn Figma as well! 😂
Hi Megan, I endorse your POV related to Figma. Despite designed several sites, Figma allows me to evaluate various design decisions before production. It elevates the creative thought process and helps me to design the websites in production much faster than before. Keep up the good work :)

Super helpful, thanks for sharing! I’m doing a redesign for a friend and created it under my credentials thinking I could pass it to her when I’m done but squarespace doesn’t allow for that. If you’ve done a redesign, how did you do it on an already live site?

I’m learning as much as I can but worry I can’t call myself a web designer if I don’t code.. most websites use builders and I don’t want to code but don’t want to price people and feel like I’m scamming them. Do clients care that you use Squarespace ? I’ve been working on squarespace but see some comments about ppl not being real designers. I’ve been learning css, figma, and web design to make sure I’m proficient as possible. I’ve taken graphic design courses also.
@@nursyazwani6300 I get you! I’m in a lot of fb groups and I saw a comment that put me at ease. “People are paying for what they can’t or don’t want to do. Long as they like the end result, they don’t care how you did it.” Lol we’re mostly in our heads. 😊
actually that's for developpers , as a designer you are not obligated to know how to code, but i think it's worth learning tho. at least html css a little bit of javascript.
Does Figma give you HTML or CSS coding that you can embed onto the website? Only issue with Squarespace is how it labels some of its containers for coding.
I am so torn between Wordpress and squarspace. I want to learn a new skill and that’s to become a web designer for both service and e-commerce businesses. I don’t have any real technical experience, but Wordpress looks fun to build. Square space looks boring and too “cookie cutter”. I don’t feel like it would be fair to charge much for my services using square space if it’s something that the customer can just build themselves. However, I don’t want my customers to struggle with maintaining their site, or have issues with security. Not sure which route to take.
Hello Megan, Looks amazing! Have you ever had scaling issue with Squarespace when looking on a tablet? Unfortunately Squarespace doesn't have tablet view but I noticed on mobile and desktop it looks good, but when I look at it in on a tablet it looks wonky. 😵💫
Awesome Video! How do you install other fonts to squarespace? There were some layout designs I was trying to create and I couldn't figure out how go get them transferred as opposed to trying to find a similar typeface
Has it ever happened where you designed something and then once you went to develop it, you realize it can’t be done 100% the way you originally presented it to the client? That has been like a floating fear in the back of my head as I’m working with my first client atm lol. I figure you could flag it to their attention, but I’m wondering how else you can go about it
Before I design the site I like to check in with the platform and see if those ideas are even possible! That eliminates the fear for me usually! 😊 also I like to let them know it will look almost identical to the mockup but some things may be slightly adjusted for responsiveness!
Please Do a figma to Wordpress tutorial too! And if you could please make a video about Wordpress plugins, what do you suggest and use?

SAME! OMG! I feel like a scammer to charge people even 1k for a drag and drop website. I’m trying to learn coding on my own too
