My son-in-law’s mother recently died. His father had no idea how to pay a bill, how to write a check, none of it. My daughter is doing it all for him right now with the end goal of teaching him everything. My daughter took her (the mother-in-law’s) iPhone and figured out all the accounts and went from there.
The thing I learnt from my husband is how to be calm, he is very realistic and as he says plan for what you can and don’t worry about the things that are out of your control. I only just learned he doesn’t know how to cook 😮 so I’m slowly teaching him, goodness knows what he would have done if something happened to me.
