For your next US trip with Freddie you ought to go to Newport, Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard, Hyannis, and Cape Cod. The north east is a great place for a road trip ESPECIALLY in Autumn.

If y'all are coming to the US again, you should try and book an Appalachian Mountains tour... (Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee), you should start at the Primland Resort Hotel from Auberge Hotels... (I've stayed at the main hotel there for a wedding weekend, and can tell you it rivals my stays at the great hotels of southern France...stunning!); then head down the mountains to Omni Grove Park Inn... I've stayed there and can say it's like an elegant, yet vintage vibe where you can ride (horses), or hike or picnic, in NC, then head southwest to Blackberry Farm which is in Tennessee. All of these locations have inspirational local food and art, and you can fly in and out of the International Airport at Atlanta.

Charlie, I live in NW Pennsylvania USA, we have the same weather ,this year cool then sunny and warn. We are having a terrible spring. My roses ( I have about 55 David Austin's) are just leafing out. Our patio is too chilly to sit out most days. Daffodils are one of my favorite flowers. When I was a little girl, my mom always forced a bouquet for my birthday table. So, I have many Daffodil bulbs they always make me smile , thinking of my mom ❤️ what a great book
We’ve just welcomed a 13 week old pure black sausage to our family. Her name is Pixie 🐶🥰. Both you & Charlie are so lovely. So warm and inviting with your friends and family 🥰🥰.
Puppies are so much fun and work. I am a schnauzer lover, currently 2 miniatures and 1 standard. Ours are ages 12 yrs, 8yrs and 3yrs. Never a dull moment ! The 8 yo who weighs 16 lbs is the boss, our standard who weighs about 35lbs. Listen to him! He rules the house. 😉 enjoy

I did the Orient Express ride with my mother and sister and we went from Winchester to London and it was elegant and so worth it. I was looking out for something about the Coronation and hope something was celebrated by you both. An amazing day and so glad Harry got the reception he deserved.

I'll add my voice to a New England getaway! Nothing like the mountains of New Hampshire and the coast of Maine with the beauty and deliciousness of Portland! Also Long Island, where I live, is stunning with the North Fork (farmer's market land) and the Hamptons (celebrityville) plus there is a boat right to the CT coast so you can make it a trip easily!

Chicago would be lovely to visit around Christmas time! Went a few years back when my sister lived in the city and it was magical ✨ There's plenty of Christmas lights to see, ice skating & the city's official Christmas tree in Millennium Park, and the Christkindlmarket is also so fun. My favorite were the many festive operas, musicals, & ballets going on during that time of year. ❤

Another lovely vlog Josie. A quick message re Alliums. The leaves die back then the allium blooms, it’s the order of the flower I’m afraid. I have lots and I slowly snip the yellow on the leaves so my borders still look pretty then I eventually hide the bedraggled leaves behind newly planted annuals as not to disturb too much. 🤍

I’ve been thinking about where you could come in America 🇺🇸 with Freddy. In New Hampshire we have the Mount Washington mountain and you can see the sea coast from it. We have a railway that takes people around Mount Washington as well. Amongst many other fun things to do in our great state. As for another state that’s quite adventurous that would offer many girlie things to do and or adventures, Hawaii comes to mind, I know you’d get pampered, go to luau’s, learn more about the native culture, honestly it was my initial thought before my own state which is an incredible state in New England. 🤍🌱🪴

Allium leaves quite often look tatty by the time they flower, mine are planted with geranium rozanne, so the geranium hides the tatty leaves - I don't remove the leaves until they've died back as they're still soaking up the sun.
So exciting with a new puppy, Bertie is so cute - we're hoping to add to our four legged family this summer (not a sausage though - an ever so slightly bigger rottweiler).
Josie, the best trip is California coastal highway but starting at the redwood forest then following coast. They views are incredible and so many beautiful cities/ towns to stop in. Hearst castle is extraordinary. Rent a convertible and drive the view!

Concerning the alliums, once the the leaves have done thier job in supplying food and energy to the buld, the leaves are know longer need and die back, happens to all members of the onion family.

Lovely vlog, as per usual. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the train trip! The singing ladies were so nostalgically perfect. As for travel advice for the US: If you and Freddie choose to go up to the New England area for the fall colors, it is so worth it. My sister and I did that last year. Late September, early October are your best bet for the brightest colors. Fair warning, you might end up doing a lot of driving, since there's not much public transportation to the best fall colors. But driving through charming small villages nestled in the woods is enchanting. Can't recommend that area enough, and the people are great. Try to do a couple states if you can. We started our drive from Boston and ended in Portland, Maine. Maine is lovely, so are Vermont and New Hampshire. Good hikes, stunning drives, charming towns. Lots of places to pull off and take pictures. But driving that much on the wrong side of the road might be a lot.
If you're more interested in going to visit a single city, might I suggest New Orleans? It's one of the oldest cities in the country, and quite charming. Lots of old houses to look at and a thriving nightlife. The WW2 museum is one of the best in the world. I must confess I've never been drunk on Bourbon Street, or been to Mardi Gras, but something about the charm of the city itself keeps calling me back to it. The food is amazing. Unique shopping. Great for long weekend trip.

I think you should look into going to Cape Cod Massachusetts. It has some gorgeous beach towns and you can ferry over to the islands Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket which are so pretty!!!
Loved the side eye, lol! Sante Fe or Native American historical sites such as the Navajo nation north of Phoenix. The Pacific Northwest. There are so many lovely wellness retreats. Savannah or Charleston is nice. PCH towards Big Sur is beautiful providing the road is open and then maybe head down to Santa Barbara. Depends what you're looking for. Mid Oct is lovely in the northeast for the fall colors...Vermont, Western MA, NH. Maine is rugged and gorgeous.

I have an app called picture this it tells you the name of any plant in your garden all you do is take a picture and it tells you in seconds what it is I think its brilliant it even told me the other day the plant needed watering
