Late comment, but I feel like oils would've made the sns too op in World. You can already cut tails, ko, mount, and use items without sheathing. Adding oils would just be easy mode imo.

I like Gen/Gen Ultimates SnS more than World's mainly because in World the slashing combos are slowed down in very weird areas, which made Elemental SnS in World abit weaker than I was original expecting.
If you played World and tried GenU's slashing combo it's like experiencing how fast Ballistae shoot in World coming from an older game.
I will miss Spiral Slash though, that was the best buff SnS had ever received.

I'd argue that SnS is stronger in MHGen/MHGU than in World
All weapons are stronger in GenU they have broken arts and styles

World SnS newcomer here. I wanted to get into the older games, but the lack of combos and speed in the older ones scared me off. But this really helps! Speed looks equal, maybe even faster than World, and the GenU additions look super cool! No Perfect Rush, but whaddya gonna do. Thanks for making this!

I found that the Generations SnS was the weapon's peak thanks to Oils (of all the Generations mechanics, the World team should have kept that let's be real) and Hunter Arts.
The new jumping move just ruins the flow for me. I really miss being able to just weave in and out of attacks and not fly into the air for a move that always misses.
If I'm in the mood to commit to big attacks, I'll pick up a Greatsword that does 5X the damage.
I can't be alone on this right?
The new Plunging Attack is kick ass though. When I first did that I was in awe.

Arial SnS with status is the funnest shit, like he said: paralysis, mounting, KO. Puts some monsters on lockdown. If you wear the deviant Rathian armor with it, you can do Wide Range and heal your team as well while boosting your status output by a lot.
Free 30% crit from just an item, and it can stack with another 30% crit
It indeed IS weak in Gen, hell it was one of the worst weapons. They gave it good HAs in GU and even some slight mv changes. While it's still far away from being good it now at least holds its weight.
@@xxxSlenderManxxs That's just flat-out not true. Oils and easy element/effect application make it very powerful, especially considering it's a very simple weapon to learn to use.
@@teaguevox8160 Please look up the TA times. It's certainly not amongst the best. Obviously it's viable if you're just casually playing online but that's about it.

IB SnS is the strongest now. The PR combo has such huge damage.
Adept SnS is kinda underrated because of how safe it is when paired up with Round Force. It's the only combination I can actually avoid Silverwind's double tail slam reliably and if you're constantly dodging trips, you can build up mounts fairly quickly as long as you position yourself properly to nail the mount hurtbox on the monster.

if i'm ever playing adept or aerial sns in Gen, i usually use the X > X > X+A > (back hop then repeat) to keep up a good amount of pressure and attacks until i need to aerial or adept evade again
A good perk of doing that with Adept is that your back hop also gets Adept frames, which is nuts.
i rarely see anyone talk about the X+A (or special button) during the X combo with aerial/adept sns, and it makes me wonder if people even know it's possible. kind of gives the impression that they can only end that combo with the A button shield bash. granted, the combo is most likely still weaker than the other popular styles but the option is there to alleviate some of that loss. not to mention, YES the backhop. i love that hop lolol

In MHW you have so many more options it feels like, and that gives me these moments where i just play flawlessly for minutes on minutes
I like MHW style of lance, I just have those moments way less in XX

Lance in GU is really jank. Especially when 4U's wasn't too bad.
i picked up lance when they introduced the counter in Tri and i consider it my favourite weapon ever since, im bummed i only get my standard kit with striker and even then it's just 2 poke into counter and youre better of just mindlessly charging (is what it feels like)
just super sad that Aerial isnt my jam, bushido is just too janky feeling.. i didnt try alot of brave in xx so idk

Striker Lance is a top 3 weapon for speedruns lol so its may not feel better but its more optimal than in world
What are you talking about? Lance is the fastest melee weapon for TAs in XX.
No charge jump hit. You got adept style for that. Brave offensive and adept passive aggressive playstyle. Spin hit only applies when you q q q or qw q q or q q q w w w.

Well, the bread and butter combo in GU SnS isn't an infinite. There is a pause and reset but I get what you're saying
I usually roll to reposition, and you should move a bit cause you want every move of your slashes to hit the weak spot, also people tend to do roundslash after combos cause it fills quickly

Gen/GU/XX is the most amazing SnS has ever been. SnS in World feels grandpa slow in comparison.

6:51 Wait I thought motion values weren’t affected with striker SnS and only gained 3 Arts. The only weapon I know that gained motion values is the striker Cb and that’s only if you’re in axe mode.

Well i just started gen ult and i can say it was not easy to go from iceborn to GU, it was a huge diff between the 2.
GU feels more of power weapon with all the oils and skill and stuff, but if feels so clunky compared to worlds sns.
That is because in MHW, there's little commitment to animations. Whereas in GU, even the fastest weapons have slow windups so you can't act as crisp as MHW. It's a problem with everything when going to GU from MHW.
Mhgen / mhgu Sns is broken, thx to sword oil and insanely overpower hunter skill after introducing chaos oil. Tht the main reason mhgen / mhgu a lot player play SnS. In mhworld, Sns still op if your very good play elemental / ailment dmg and master in using stinget but not broken like what MHGU can do. Mhworld have no sword oil, which impact overall dmg SnS can do in mhworld. Overall SnS is not beginner weapon as to perform combo is not tht easy, compare to great sword which need to do hit and run without complex combo making true beginner weapon in mh series.
Ok so why do you never use the third hit of the a button combo?
SnS dps in generations is honestly better. Mostly because of how element is in world vs genult. The stronger attack in world doesnt make up for the elemental damage gen has.

Jo, so I’m trying to make this status set for my paralyze SnS and I can’t find a way to obtain the grand chaos plate. (Male char) There is one but it has like +3 status and not +8

Never was a fan of MH world SNS. I just don’t like spamming the backhop shield drop all day. Loved it in all the other games though, Gen/XX especially.
