We don't install them as so many have been known to blow off once the grub screws work loose. I have swapped out many for standard replacements. Great video mate 👍
Been called out to plenty of these after they have blown off. Never fitted one myself as I could see from day 1 the potential for a disaster. Avoid at all costs.
I used to fit them , had one work loose and caught it before the inevitable happened but wasn’t as lucky on another one, 18months after installation tap blew off and client had a melt down ! Never again!
Would never fit these I’ve been to 5 in last 2 months all fitted by different installers and all with the 2 grub screws and around the 1-3 year mark and all had worked free causing tap to come off. Bristan say installation fault but if fitted incorrectly then would fail in first few months not year later. Ripping every 1 out that I come across

Thats it! Ive never had a single call back in 5 years so people either love em or hate em 🤣
Less likely to happen as the now have 2 grub screws. Rather than than 1 grub screw on the older models.
@@barryckemp907 ahh i didnt know it had even changed! Yer 1 isnt enough

I love bristan. I think theyre starting to bring out bath easy fit taps which would be a game changer! But yes i agree theyre very expensive now!
Yer ive looked at those and its still in development as far as i know, will be interesting to fit one in the real world 👍
Why can't you fit your flexible hoses to the underside of the brass tails before inserting the brass unit through the hole in the sink?
@@nowthenad3286 nope
@@nowthenad3286 I’ve tried and it just doesn’t go through
What’s the internal diameter of the flexis on these. Are they the tiny 8mm ones that you sometimes see or the 10mm ones? Cheers matey.
Can you fit them on granite tops
@@pamela1952 i have but trust me its awkward 🤣

Ive recently set up terms and conditions to stop anything like that after a reasonable amount of time

@@pauljohnston-s3x i dont really care as far as i dont work for bristan, personally ive never experienced one come off and i must have fit 100 by now
I love bristan taps, but the easifits are a no go. Ive heard of 2 blow off and i wouldnt take that risk 😂😂
Thats the older model! They fixed it by adding an extra grub screw and the locator hole is slightly deeper 👍
Nope, still works loose in time
Loctite on grub screws
How do you ever replace it though if you do that?
@@mrcnealeUse medium strength blue, not red. Blue will allow disassembly, but not loosening through vibration.
