    Iam 68, Ex Airborne Forces Medic, trained in survival in extreme conditions, I have walked the hills for Forty Years, But these days I don't go into the Hills, Mountains and Moors on my own anymore, simply for the reasons you mentioned.

    Glad you're safe and well. If you do venture out again can I suggest an inreach or PLB type device.... do you think if you had one you would have triggered it? I've recently purchased GPsmap 66i for just this type of eventuality. Cheers.

      Thank you for your comments much appreciated, strangely enough I've been looking at inreach min2, to today, and I think I will be buying it. Going to an uninhabited island in Scotland for 10 days. Would be very handy
