  • Thousands gathered in Sheringham for the WW2 re-enactment weekend of 21st-22nd September 2013. The event was first started by the North Norfolk Railway but has grown into a weekend in which the whole town participates. 88 businesses in the town were decorated to recall the forties and their staff were suitably attired. Our video takes a quick look at some of the events of the Sunday; the chosen year for re-enactment this year was 1943, so there was a huge mixture of nationalities represented, including many American servicemen. There was a note of serious remembrance to conclude the weekend, with representatives of the British Legion and other forces associations attending, but in the main is was a fun weekend to look back over events from 70 years ago - with perhaps a bit more relaxation than there was in those days. At the centre of events was the station itself, with packed steam trains making their way to and from Holt.
