Al Golden did an amazing job at ND. It was fun as hell to watch his defense play. He had a bad night against Ohio State. I didn’t understand what he was trying to do, but w all the injuries all year, his defense managed to help get ND to the Natty. Best wishes Al Golden
Locker room access to losing team in championship games should be limited to those players that want to be interviewed and the head coach. Players do not need some reporter looking to make a name for himself get in their face asking annoying/stupid/ridiculous questions. As for the talent on the team shoutout to the players that stepped up replacing NFL talent who were injured. Expectations will be high for 25 as it should be. Pressure on ND to join a conference will only increase.
I can see both sides...if Mickens gets the job, he & Marcus already have the relationship & can collaborate and maybe makes things fairly seamless. On the other side, if you think there's a "better" candidate out there, make him an offer he can't refuse & move on. We have no choice but to trust Freeman's evaluation of Mickens as to if he's truly ready to take the reins.
Definitely 2 ways to look at it. 1 hire a home run at DC then keep Mickens. Great strategy until someone offers Mickens at DC job at a different school. 2 keep Mickens and hire new DB coach.
Hire Mickens as new Irish DC who will also coach CBs. In addition, and as an insurance policy-hire veteran safeties coach who happens to have some DC/game planning/play calling experience..? ☘🤷🏽♂️
The quarterback and receivers. If they are elite NotreDame has a great shot imo to play in and win a National championship. Will it be Carr or Angeli, Minchey? It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
These guys who want to make a name for themselves for reporting on the behavior of players who just lost the biggest game of their lives…and especially the guy who just gave up the bomb that ended it…and his friends that were protecting him. The players didn’t open the locker room, they were just part of the process that the CFP allowed. They weren’t ready to have their plays picked apart some turd. These guys…they’re not my kinda guys.
A smart reporter, there’s not many anymore, would have waited at least a little while before approaching the ND players. I mean, what was he gonna ask Christian Gray? What was going through your mind when Smith caught that pass and burned you? Yeah, not my kind of people either
Are you talking about Al Golden? Because Al Golden is not weak. I think any criticism of Al Golden is misplaced. He did a terrific job at ND, and his love for the university was evident every time he spoke about it. He has ties to Cincinnati and to the Bengals. If Golden wants to eventually get a head coaching job in the NFL, this move is a good decision. I don't think it's about money. It's about Golden deciding what is best for his preferred career path. Like I said, Golden did great t hings at Notre Dame; and our collective response should be "thank you".
(14:30) Kid? You mean the grown-ass man who is making how much in NIL money? He is not an amateur. You are getting paid to play right? Reporters have a duty to report and get differing POV’s. They do not have to answer questions but they sure as hell need to be asked questions. If you can’t step up here, you sure as hell do not belong in the NFL where you get questions ALL THE TIME. Suck that loss up and show some character and class to the media.
He probably really wants to be a DC in the NFL. He gave ND 3 outstanding years. Can’t really be mad. Most teams would love to say they’ve had the past 3 years defensively.
Wrap up Mickens and get a home run hire DB coach in here. NO time to waste.
Mickens would probably still coach the DBs has the DC

Well they getting paid now so time to put on the big boy pants

If Mickens ain't the guy, whoever they hire needs to be a great recruiter just in case he leaves

I honestly think it was a done deal the week before USC
I tend to agree that he knew he was going back for a while now too
way before, he has never sold his house in Cincinnati

he can't handle the stress at ND, nobody is indispensible

I just don’t like how contracts and extensions mean nothing in college football.
AL Golden did a great job at Notre Dame
I would look at Jim Leonard he did a great job at Wisconsin
Sean is being somewhat rude by answering his own questions and interrupting Vince.
Rumor out there that ND will interview INDIANA DEF, CORD.
That info did come out
Before the game.
may have affected the game
Why isn't it realistic to keep them together for a little while. Hartline and Knoles have been together. Why aren't teams coming for knoles.
Hartline is an Ohio State alum. Teams are coming for Knowles. There are rumors about him to Oklahoma and the NFL.

I hope Rudolph gets a HC job
If Al Golden would leave ND for the Bengals - he is not that smart. Goodbye.
That not true. Bengals better job. Notre Dame is good but not great or elite program yet. NFL way better
Lol smh
@@clarencewalder2985The NFL argument is fine, but calling ND not an elite program right now is retarded.

@@clarencewalder2985 better at not able to read or write with NFL full of uneducated convicts-to-be
