I love a clean car. Last weekend I was at the track and a guy asked me why does your car look so clean ? It looks the same as it did a month ago? All I could say was, I clean it, LOL!
Man when you clean your rc cars it’s so hard to go out and get it dirty lol. I clean my rcs and let them sit for a couple days and just admire them😁 Thanks for the tips on how to clean your rcs.
EXACTLY! After I clean my buggy I don't want to run it either, but after I clean my MT I feel more ok running it as it's higher off the ground so it collects less dust and dirt, and it's easier to clean. I actually just use wipes, rubbing alcohol (to get rid of excess grease/oil), paper towels, and most importantly, my trusty used (but clean!) tooth brushes a Q-tips. My method is less messy, and doesn't involve taking the car apart, but it's more labor on my end. I recently tried my friend's air compressor to clean both my cars (they were a little dusty after our run), it worked like a DREAM, so easy! I've always heard the compressors are great for blowing off dust and dirt that's not yet dried on, but I can testify myself now! I really want a compressor now....so much saved time!
I go with WD-40 Specialist Machine & Engine Degreaser, Distilled Water, Mineral Oil and 303 Aerospace Protectant. Along with using my compressor and assorted auto detailing tools, but I use all that since I use the stuff on my vehicles when I wash them and do my RC's at the same time. Never seen any surface rust at all. Always blow out around the bearings first but I always have some AVID bearings on hand just in case.
Thank you. I am new to RC and trying to clean my slash. Harbor freight is literally across the street from me and bought everything there. Thank you for making it easy.
I’m new to rc racing and I’m curious about spraying the simple green on the chassis part where the electronics are located. How did you go about that? I couldn’t see how you applied the simple green during your time lapse part of the video
Lookin good!! Ready to get dirty agn!! Thanks Mark!! Edit: I actually do something similar with one less blow off step. I mix simple green, a bit of water, & olive oil. I break it down like you did. Apply the solution with a toothbrush to get in all the hard to reach spots. Let it sit a bit then blow it off & you're done. The olive oil w the simple green makes the plastic shine like new just like WD-40. I used WD-40 once & it seemed like a dirt magnet after. The olive oil kinda makes a protective layer & dirt wipes/blows rt off.
Do you ever have issues with the wd-40 holding dust? I've been using simple green by itself and it certainly cleans well but it leaves somewhat of a dull finish
thanks for your time and effort you put into these vids. i have been following you for about a year now. one question please. do when cleacing like this did you just cover your electronics?
I was by there 2 times today . I'm going to try to make it down there . We have 2 races tonight and Saturday night maybe 45 minutes east of you . 5th scale . I've set up rv's there for show a couple times .
I use WD40 as the cleaning agent, let it soak in shade for 10-15 min. Blow it off , WD40 all pivots screws. Been doing it like this forever. Looks spotless. RC LIFE IS GOOD
Spray the wd-40 in a paint brush and brush it on then u don't have to blow the wd 40 off and u get in everywhere. Maybe try it some times. I know some people can be set in there ways.
That's American for you.. This is why we're having global warming and the ice caps are melting! What's wrong with a bit of water and a rag.. We just want to buy, consume use electricity/petrol and throw away and waste, waste.. Do you know we cannot see the stars anymore at night because of all the light and air pollution.. And people still want to buy buy buy.. One of something is not enough anymore we have become to greedy and self serving..

Gotta try this method out! Do you recommend the WD40 silicon spary?

Awesome way to clean....simple green is wonderful.....great tips.....have fun and be safe.

Love the channel. I’m in Georgia getting into the rc world
looking forward to seeing you at PNB this year! missed you at SIC earlier this year
Stay tuned for the LIVE stream! We'll be posting updates as race times as well!
@@SoulciaLight oooo!! I will!!

Do you know if the hobbywing XR8 sct and xerun 3660 g2 waterproof
does letting the simple green soak in not result in rust?
Nice tips! What about the rc bodies? What do you use to clean them?
Gunna have to try this they look super clean
What about the Protek shine instead of the WD40? What are your thoughts?
A leaf blower or a good matress inflator works real well if u dont have an air compressor.
Do you ever have issues with the wd-40 holding dust? I've been using simple green by itself and it certainly cleans well but it leaves somewhat of a dull finish
Are you taking all the bearings out as well?

How long do you let the simple green soak for?
Gotta try that method! I seen you do it at your house before.
Where did u get that electric screw driver at i want one
So you just blow the simple green off with the air compressor?
so you just spray simple green, then use the air compressor to blow the dirt off?
You use Simple Green UNDILUTED? Is that the way everyone does it?
What wheels are on the trx4?
Wow, you really weren’t far from southwestern VA.

What motor, esc, and servo should I run in my eb48 2.0 and batteries
Check out my description. All my stuff is in there
Yea I blow everything I can off then hit it with wd40 and a hard bristle brush works awsome
Question, doesn't WD40 soften plastics?
Nope it only harms polysterene and some polycarbonate none of them are in rc cars....
Do you avoid spraying bearings directly with the wd40 or just completely coat it without worry
I probably should but i coat it with no fear. Haha
@@MarkSantaMaria thanks for the quick response buddy, you should upload some bashing footage! Haven’t seen much of losi SMT in a long while
Are you ever worried about wd40 pulling the oil or grease outta the bearings?
Good music, I like joakim karud :D
Thanks for information
Gooooood JOB 👍
Looking good
When are you going to have a fast RC boat on the channel
Hello amigo are you going to be there Sunday too
Yes!
💯🔥
You actually want the ones with the holes on the side, it pulls air from the holes to add more pressure
Is WD40 ok to put on the RC's?? I always see lots of people saying not to use it. I never know what to believe.
People have different ways. I personally havent had any problems and been using this method for over 10 years
I use WD40 as the cleaning agent, let it soak in shade for 10-15 min. Blow it off , WD40 all pivots screws. Been doing it like this forever. Looks spotless. RC LIFE IS GOOD
I use baby wipes to clean the chassis
White pine is right up the rd from me
Another great how too 👏👍
Thanks sir and keep up the great work and content 👍
I use white lithium spray grease instead of wd40.
Man, silicone spray is so much better than wd40 for the final....actually repels dirt and is less messy
Silicon spray....Try it Mark !
I might recommend silicone spray rather than WD40.
Wd40 eats plastic just an fyi...use sc1 or silicone spray.
Spray the wd-40 in a paint brush and brush it on then u don't have to blow the wd 40 off and u get in everywhere. Maybe try it some times. I know some people can be set in there ways.
I put my trucky in the tub😃
th you
what. never clean with wd40. dirt sticks to that like hell
So your work steps are as follows:
Spray Simple Green
Blow off with compressed air
Spray with WD40
Blow off with compressed air
Place in the sun
👌❤👍
Tec Thursday huh
With wd-40 being a penetrant it should make the plastic softer. How often do you change arms on your buggy.
When they break... hahaha!

D'oh I'm late to the party 😅😆
hi
I wouldnt coat it in wd40, it attracts dirt
Really Mark, you blew that stuff onto the rocks? Have you heard of old news papers.
Lol... you caught that? I had to blow it off twice... hahaha
Third
Fourth
This is probably the most expensive and time consuming way of cleaning your rc on the internet
Agree. One hard smack against my garage wall on its way back inside works best for me.
@Jim Lacey -MTB Have you checked your bearings lately?
Nothing that i hate more then buying a used car soaked in WD40. just makes it slippery and slimy.
Letting it dry in the sun helps. Im sure there are better chemicals to use but thats how i clean it... hahaa
@@MarkSantaMaria I have never tried to leave them in the sun. I just use simple green. Everyone has a different way. Comes down to preference I guess!
Second
I use a dog dryer off ebay $60
