A role model..was a young cop in turbulent South Africa in 1977 when I bought your music. 65 years old now and you still the best guitar player with a voice that no one can imitate. Long live Shawn Phillips❤❤
I was first introduced to this album in 1977 by Linda Zack, from Montreal. She was my first sweetheart. It all happened in Israel. Five months later we were not together anymore, I 've never heard of her again, as she went back to Canada. I lost the contact with her but never lost the connection with Shawn's music. I looked for her in the internet for 25 years and never found a sign or a clue of her existance. I presume she is dead. Life goes on.
It is strange to remember that we all get older, especially when you are looking at an album cover from 1976 and then find this lovely TH-cam video. Thank you JamPlace.
Awesome music, I met Shawn in Pietermaritzburg, SA in the 90's. David Marks of 3rd Ear Music had arranged for a world class concert in the sleepy hollow town a small distance up the road. Somehow got invited to a restaurant over a meal with Shawn and company. it was a great evening with awesome people at the table I shared. Scary part is I still remember the words in this song many years later. It is a woman thing I guess
His music is utterly sublime. I mainly listen to classical music, but he is my absolute favorite pop singer. I first encountered his work while at Fort Sam Houston TX in 1971.
Worked on a build for Shawn in Nov 2019 for a custom pedal board case and his mic and IEM great guy didn't know much about him until I done some work for him big fan after listing to his music
Every true fan of Shawn knows that the actual title of this song is, "She was waiting for her mother at the station in Torino and you know I love you baby, but it's getting too heavy to laugh." I discovered him when he appeared on the Johnny Carson Show in the early 70s. He's a musical genius with a vocal range that is unmatched.
One of the best Interpretation of the concerto d' Aranjuez is done by Siegfried Behrend on guitar with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1960. That's what Rodrigo said ! By the way: a very good performance of the beautiful Song 'woman'. Thanks !
Have to say... I was surprised to hear this band playing with Shawn. It's not terrible or anything... I just expected his usual high standards, that's all. H,L and C

We hauled Shawn Phillips back to South Africa.....and then 'nogal' sought and found Rodriquez....
This is a major part of the sound track of my high school days. Good times and good music.

Memorial Stadium October 1972 cold gray afternoon, birds circled over the stage

@@DonRossMusic Thanks. Damn auto correct, which is very often not correct.🙃
We've been together for 48 years now! Feels like yesterday.
He is marvelous. Brings back such lovely memories if Swakopmund when i was introduced to this album. His voice was pure as he was in his prime.
Almost got to meet him, Rockford Ill. But got pulled away by friends to go watch a Chicago blues legend, that was good, but...you know....
One word...............WOW
Intro - Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo second movement - Adagio - Brilliant!
Come back to the West Coast (BC) Shawn.

Thank you, I found it !!! Beautiful piece
Love This!! Bummer though I can barely hear it!! 🎶💜🎶
Everything evocative.
saw him at the guthrie back in 70s amazing
Memories... Sorry for everything...
A fantastic version of this classic from Mr. Phillips, inspired by Ravel's boléro.
Classique!
Judy Brown eyes from New Braunfels will never forget you - just that fact that you were there
Shawn Philips Woman
He’s going to be play in a few days at a bar called The Muckey Duck, near Houston. It’s sold out
He has aged but his voice is just as strong
Un grande artista non considerato per il suo grande talento
Tanti con minor talento sono osannati, lui è stato presto dimenticato. Peccato

Wish he sang louder and the other musicians we quieter
❤️🔥👌
