Thanks Yale Native American Cultural Center. The unspoken and unaddressed issue or problem here is this. That of the Indigenous Black Americans, American Aborigines or Ethnological Indians of Color who are here, Pre-Columbian, before the West slave trade and Independent of the Asian Bering Strait Migration. The Anthro-Archaeo-Ethnological evidences of such are present but the Asian and African narrative has resulted in that particular part of American history being omitted or ignored.
As a modern native American I can assure you my ancestory is Siberian, central and east Asian. If y'all were here why do modern native Americans have barely any African DNA?? There would be more genetic evidence other than some slaves running away to the Seminoles for help. 😂 Just accept that African history in America is only slavery. We developed over here cut off from the rest of the world for a good10k years, we are also the result of thousands of years of migration. Doesn't take a serious college degree to know that.
It's being ommited and ignored cause everyone knows it's bullshit😂 you have no evidence for your claims!! Olmec society was proven to be North American in origin. They gave birth to the Aztec, Mayas, and other assorted tribes. None of them look negro, they look more East Asian. The dark skinned natives Columbus seen were the Arawak people. The farther south you go the more prevalent body painting becomes. Black skinned people?? More like dark painted people.
Just cause life started in Africa doesn't mean black people were here first. Ethnicities weren't a thing until very recently in our human history, ethnicities only started becoming a thing shortly before the land bridge closed. Then everyone had time to develop in their own seperate regions. So your ethnicity wasn't even a thing when the Americas first started being populated. My people the Dakota people weren't even a thing until the 1300's. Before that the ancestors of the Sioux roamed around the central Mississippi River Valley area, around Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota for 2000 to 3000 years.
In order for your claims to be correct, there would need to be actual definitive DNA evidence of which there is none. You would also needed to have arrived shortly before Columbus as well for you to be right, but y'all Africans didn't arrive from Africa until the 1500's. 😂 I really don't see how Africans somehow populated the Americas and waited for us to arrive here, then give us our culture only to just magically disappear leaving no genetic evidence. 😂
Have you ever heard of any intra-American slavery between South Carolina and Puerto Rico? Do you have anything to say on whether the original Tainos, Awaraks, and Carib Indians were Black? I'm no stranger to Puerto Ricans, since I grew up in a shared Black American - Puerto Rican community, and my fiance is Puerto Rican. I have multiple theories on what happened (most likely in the 1800's, or even beyond), but I'm still searching for more answers. @@doubleutee8867 Well theres a couple things here that i think are important to what you are trying to fing out. 1.) Not all puerto ricans are taino (a large portion are but there are some who are not) 2.) Boriken has a very complex history. The black population of the island wasnt just enslaved. The first black ppl to the americas werent even slaves they were soliders and explorers and slaves. 3.) Many black ppl came to the carribean not as slaves but looking for money, wealth, fame, freedom, land etc this is a part of history that isnt that well known. Infact puerto ricos free black population grew to be 3Xs as large as its enslaved black population and remained that way up until it was abolished. 4.) There were black ppl traveling around latin america n such long 1-300 years before many of the stories in this video alone actually. 5.) Taino people didnt just exist in PR but rather all over the carribean and during colonization a mess was created so u had tainos escape to all kinds of places. Recent genetic studies showed tainos in cuba who were descended from tainos who escaped from the DR during the invasion. 6.) Our ancestors were a heavily melinated ppl but still distinguishable from africans. 7.) Many of us still look this way today. If u study some of the ppls i listed above they are our direct relatives esp the kalinago of dominica who have the only native american rez in the carribean 8.) U will find that maaaaaany if not all of our sibling ppls are also heavily melinated ppl. But they look different from what we know as black ppl. But u do have many ppl who are that mix and physically present as such like myself. Theres alot of good information out there and the history is incredibly complex. Very educational, but I now understand why many today, whose ancestors were members of the KKK and participated in the atrocities mentioned here, would be ashamed of their families association and would prefer to hide this truth, while people like myself who was raised with little knowledge of this history were largely ignorant, this history must be taught in order to not repeat such shameful behavior, however slavery seems to be largely driven by and for wealth and power over others, deemed lesser humans, for cheap labor….but the trouble with all this is people who have been abused often seek vengeance, and call it justice, so it become a tit for tat society and reconciliation become nearly impossible except for those who forgive but not forget...

Africa wasn’t called Africa until the late 1600s. So how did the first African slaves arrive in 1619. When they weren’t even called Africans yet. So any source calling us that before that year is false. We are the real American Indians! Do your research!
A person that has majority African, - or whatever you want to call that region - origin but that also has sufficient Native American ancestry & DNA should also qualify as a Native American.. but that doesn't mean that the majority of who they truly are were " the original Native Americans " .. to say that would be a vile attempt at racial & cultural appropriation!

Can you site some scholarly sources that backs up what you typed?
What more can you say on why some Black Americans have ancestors, and distant cousins in the Afro Caribbean and Latin America?
We taino are part of the arawak group of native americans. There are multiple tribes of arawakan people. If u wish to know what they look like or who they are u can look them up here are some of their names

There are multiple others but thats just a few for context
@@javi8905 Well, I'm Black American. I took a DNA test. The results of the test revealed I have 3 genetic groups. Two are composed of Black Americans in traditional Black American regions here in the USA. However, 1 is in Puerto Rico. I'm trying to figure out how this could have happened. I'm no stranger to Puerto Ricans, since I grew up in a shared Black American - Puerto Rican community, and my fiance is Puerto Rican. I have multiple theories on what happened (most likely in the 1800's, or even beyond), but I'm still searching for more answers. Something as cut and dry as Puerto Rico had slaves, and the response is duuuuh, everyone knows that. Tell me something new. I'm searching for answers to my own genealogy, but the paper trail is cold. It is what it is...for now.
@@doubleutee8867
Well theres a couple things here that i think are important to what you are trying to fing out.
1.) Not all puerto ricans are taino (a large portion are but there are some who are not)
2.) Boriken has a very complex history.
If u study some of the ppls i listed above they are our direct relatives esp the kalinago of dominica who have the only native american rez in the carribean
8.) U will find that maaaaaany if not all of our sibling ppls are also heavily melinated ppl. But they look different from what we know as black ppl. But u do have many ppl who are that mix and physically present as such like myself.
Theres alot of good information out there and the history is incredibly complex. Im almost half taino by blood and only from puerto rico my family is from the mountains
@@javi8905 Actually, I believe this is the real deal on the link below, because this guy is showing to many receipts.

This is VERY WELL DONE-LEARNED MORE THAN I DID IN SCHOOL & History is a thing in our family. I wish your ancestors were treated better, we can only hope that the future does not revert backwards. An exceptional telling. I'm sharing it forward!
It seems it never stops, the lies which claimed to be historic as well as the need for reparations. I'm going on 70 years of age and all I've seen is a new way to lie. Millions of my indigenous family continue to suffer, while politicians want you to play their game ignoring The truth.
I think a lot of the illusion is for confusion also for anybody ancestors who want to be present
Please, also, don’t be once again misled about who is responsible for the enslavement of so-called negro indigenous people of America and the entirety of the known world. “White” people did become involved eventually, but to a lesser degree than the Jews, who spearheaded slavery and the whole supporting slavery industry all over the world.
It's always the savages that have committed atrocious crimes wanting everyone to just forget about what they've done and move forward..News flash there will be no movement until JUSTICE IS SERVED. and JUSTICE isn't providing comfort to the murderous THEIVES. Be ff😒
Does the presenter know which tribal nation his family is from? Great dissertation
Don't forget america is still teaching the ideologies of their forefathers. Politics we're never intended to be honest just convince you to play along.
Southern confederates brought their racism to British Honduras. Where slavery had already been abolished. Blacks shared equality to whites. This created a class system.

So are the African Americans the descendants of the American Indians 😢
Yes. And not African. Most African slaves ended up in the Caribbean.
Indeed, we went through 5 different classifications…. Indian, negro, colored, black, and African American. Look at Walter Plecker and the racial integrity act. The Carter’s are a part of my family tree back in the 1700’s and indeed, they lived in Quinnetahkut, and were American Indians, later reclassified as mulatto and then negro! 🏹💜🏹💜🏹💜🏹💜
Some are yes most are not. This presentation clearly makes a distinction between the two groups and shows how thet intersected several times but it didnt just happen in the US. It is dangerous to blanket statement say all are descendants of this mix cause that is plainly false and inaccurate. Some are yes, most african americans are not or euro americans but those that are deserve to be seen and respected

So far, at the :30 sec mark, my first question 🙋🏽♀️ is, what other States, besides Connecticut are going to #Recognize, the #TrailOfTears and the massive massacres of the Natives of this land, long before the #Crown invasion. The Atlantic is we’re it began!😢
Africa wasn’t called Africa until the late 1600s. So how did the first African slaves arrive in 1619. When they weren’t even called Africans yet. So any source calling them Africans before the late 1600s is a lie point blank. Just like African Americans didn’t exist at all until the year 1988. So any source calling us that before that year is false. We are the real American Indians! Do your research!
A person that has majority African, - or whatever you want to call that region - origin but that also has sufficient Native American ancestry & DNA should also qualify as a Native American.. but that doesn't mean that the majority of who they truly are were " the original Native Americans " .. to say that would be a vile attempt at racial & cultural appropriation!

the key to presenting this info is to acknowledge not all black people came in the slave trade. And the reason DNA always goes back to West Africa is because the Indigenous Americans on the East Coast came from Africa. Same way the Natives out Wests DNA comes from Asia
