I would be completely devastated and then start a cycle of self esteem issues and believe that I’m not worth anything. Hence why I stopped celebrating my birthday and why I’m currently single because getting broken up with the week after my birthday……. And a week before my 6 year anniversary….. I have years of work in restoring my self esteem. #mentalhealthissues

This hits too close to home. Im in love with an idiot who lives across the country and he has basically forgotten my birthday 3 years in a row. I hate celebrating my birthday bc everything always seems to go wrong. Spend my 2nd birthday in the hospital dying from cellulitis, spent my 7th birthday watching my uncle die on the same day, spent my 9th birthday in the ICU after a car accident, spent my 12th being the center of attention at a mock sleep over where basically everyone who I thought were my friends listing off why they actually hate me n no one likes me, spent my 16th bailing my uncle out of jail, spent my 18th in the hospital dying again but this time from sepsis after a messed up surgery, then getting a call three hours later after coming out of it to my brother telling me he sent Bambi’s mom through my windshield in my car that I got three weeks earlier while speeding, then, to top off my 21st, my former best friend took me to a dive bar, got be blackout drunk, then ditched me for the dude she was sleeping w n I had to call her twin sister n beg her to take me home after I projectile vomited in two bar bathrooms after my friend refused to take me home bc I quote “Need to figure out how to hold my liquor on my own”. For my 22nd birthday, which is today, I am not leaving my bed. If my partner did this to me, which you’d have to force me to celebrate my birthday, but if they did this, I would literally make you wish you were never born. This is what happens when you’re born on Friday the 13th.
