With almost all aftermarket CF parts they use a epoxy resin that is not UV protected. They either use pre preg carbon or infusion which both come with a clear coat like finish after curing. I always recommend when buying aftermarket CF parts, lightly scuff the surface and grab a can of 2k clear. This will solve the discoloration and a super cheap fix.
2 points 1) at @10:45, it's not sitting flush, there is a gap all the way around, there are other youtube videos which shows how to get it flush, you actually have to remove the bumper as it needs to flex, only way. 2) thoes end clips, you removed them wrong, the pin stays in the round washer, you need the right tool, a panel remover tool, will pull the pin a little open then the WHOLE pin comes out
Great video! Guys I have a slight issue on my 2series sport. Note that my vehicle is not an Msport. I'm having trouble trying to find a rear diffuser that will FIT my 2 series model. I have a few people saying that any f22 diffuser will be able to fit my model but I am not too sure it will. Can anyone help and confirm if any f22 diffusers will fit? Thank you!!
Any update on the diffuser discoloration? Did you get a new diffuser? Really interested. Like the little touches you've added to the car. Subtle but awesome.
+Izi E nope. They lied to me for 4 months about a replacement that never arrived. Then refused to refund. Ended up getting a partial refund from PayPal and have since polished it back and restored it. Will just wrap it gloss black if it fades again.
Sucks that it went yellow. I had ordered one like it for my e90 and it didnt fit well had to return it. Ot hit or miss with these aftermarket parts. Sucks. But the ones that fit well are heavy in pricing
Do you think this diffuser can be installed in M240i? the ebay website says its only for BMW F22 M235 228i 235i M Sport Bumper, I m not sure if m240i suits
Nice video man! But have you experienced with the fitment that the two side tabs just pop out n not staying on the bumper? Do you have a suggestion to fix?
Best thing you can do with any body part you buy from Asia is immediately take it to a reputable body shop to get properly cleared. If the part is cheaper and you want to save some money, get a can of 2K clear or even 1K and spray it yourself. That will save you from having an inferior clear coat fail like happened in this case.
Thanks mate! I was REALLY apprehensive about putting a replica part on my car, but I'm honestly amazed with the quality, fitment, packaging and shipping time. Lets see how it lasts in the harsh Australian sun.
Nice video! Hope you can do the front lip soon.I am going to buy mine this week and want to install by my self. Btw do you mind give me the size of your bbs?
Thanks! The car already had a genuine M-Performance front lip on it from factory, so I cant really do an install video for that. At least not on my car. Hoping to do some work on some other people's cars this year so I'll add it to the list of potential videos. All the details on my wheels can be found here. +Nick Bond 100%. Not only that but the seller was a liar too. Claimed they were sending a replacement which never arrived. Then refused to give a refund. Ended up getting a partial refund through PayPal.
Boosted Autos That's too bad; I was really hoping it would turn out OK. That's why I steer away from non-OEM CF parts. It's there an equivalent to this exact part but made of poly? I can have the shop painted instead.
Yeah as you’ll see I removed the links in the description for this video. The product faded after just a few hours in the sun and the seller lied to avoid a refund.

Looking forward to your follow up video on this diffuser & attempts to restore it and final results.
It's interesting that you have a body colored one. The stock ones in the US are the horrible black plastic.
ivydjm89 I think the previous owner must have had it painted. I haven't seen another one with the factory diffuser painted either.
Wait what are we talking about here? The diffuser is carbon fiber, not color matched?
The one I took off was colour coded.
Got it! Wish this seller shipped to California!
This is exactly what the m240i needs. Stock diffuser is fugly, this makes it what it should be.
A Dream I agree. Although it wouldn't be as unique if they all had them. Personalisation is good :)

Damn, for a rep part it's on point. Looks sick!
I felt bad buying a rep part but at 1/6th of the price......
Be curious to know what the rest of their replica parts are like (e.g. the mirror caps, spoiler)
I can only imagine the quality will be as good. A lot of this stuff all comes out of the same factories in Taiwan.
I've got a video being uploaded as we speak of the genuine BMW parts being fitted - check it out if you're interested
PS, I'm getting an M240i next month and hoping the diffuser you chose would fit.
+Teddy Spot Congrats on the new car. It will fit 100%. Same exact design.
Since you removed the link I cannot tell who sold it so I avoid the problem. Was this from RW Carbon?
Great video!

Oh man .... it didn’t last long then ? Looked great initially too

Hi Will, great video and info. Did I miss your post on where you got this diffuser from?
+Teddy Spot All the information is in the video description.
Dang I got excited about this until I read the description! Did you return it?
They wouldn’t accept returns so I just threw it out.

Would a 235i diffuser fit onto a 220d and put in a 235i dual exhaust or simlar dual one as it looks better than the standard 220d? Anyone know
I'm almost certain it would - videos on my channel

Linked Remove - product lasted 2 months before CF becomes yellow and cloudy.
Does it mean the product is bad and you don't recommend it?

you're the hero we need but don't deserve.
Lol!
Where can I buy those tips ?
Burger Motorsports.
I bought replica CF wing mirror covers, after about a month they warped. Great video though.
Yeah as you’ll see I removed the links in the description for this video. The product faded after just a few hours in the sun and the seller lied to avoid a refund.
That's annoying. Still, the video is still useful for anyone who wants to change the rear diffuser though, I'm thinking of doing mine soon...
Please do tell where did you get your exhaust tips from?
Burger Motorsports
Come from Hong Kong
Is it the same with the 1 series, 3 series and so on?
Very similar.
Boosted Autos
