Thank you very much for your compliment my friend, and very awesome that you ordered the Alienware Alpha, i hope you enjoy the heck out of it my friend!
WHAT!? You paid that much I got my Alienware Alpha R2 I7 for 499$ and mine has the same specs, did you get yours from Alienwares website? Because that's where I got mine...
Yes i did got it from the website! And lucky you for getting yours for that price! You must have gotten some awesome deal! (if its the same specs)! I have a M.2. Hard Drive and a 1TB Hard Drive, intel i7 and 16GB of ram) i'm mine was the normal price!
Ultimate Gaming Realm I'm guessing he got the steam machine. You can get a steam machine for around that $499 price but the alpha is gonna run alot more.
$1500 for Alienware Alpha is crazy,I know its small but there are other small Gaming console like Pc thats full upgradeable thats more powerful for less money like MSI Trident and ect..
i just got myself an alpha too (i7 with GTX960) i have a quick question... you said it get loud ... does it say loud all the time while gaming or just sometimes? I installed GTA5 but after about 30min of game play the fans run at like 100% and are so loud.... for about 10-15min then quite down again (not idle speed) I'm guessing this is normal ?
It can get loud for certain modern PC games, and they very on the settings of certain games like if you have the settings to Ultra settings or have the V-Sync off, usually for some games to avoid the load noise as much i can, i usually have the settings on High and V-Sync on.
cool thanks for the quick reply.... I'll play around with the settings and see how it goes. do you think room temperature is a factor also ? here in Syd it may be coming to end of summer but still 30C+ outside and i have no a/c in my room.
gamernoob well, I'm not sure what I can say to that, but having conditioner in room with PC is a good idea, or at least maybe a fan for the area where the Alpha R2 is located!
I would assume so, i haven't yet fiddle around with modifications for hardly any games, except for Skyrim Remastered and Fallout 4, and i don't anything about Dawn of War. Sorry!
Honestly, i'm not sure about the console mode, i haven't fiddle around of finding that part out! You may wanna contact Alienware or Dell for info regarding the console mode! Sorry i couldn't be any help on that part!
Ive been looking it up i have to manually download hivemind and also i was talking to rep she said the steam controller isnt compatible with the alpha r2 i have a hard time believing that is it true?
stoptakingusernamepls Well the ram, hard drives or CPU maybe, but GPU, I'm afraid not, but you can get a graphics card amplifier so you can install a GPU externally!
However if you get one and plan on upgrading with any components inside, I would you to contact Dell about what you want upgraded, but I wanna make to be safe then sorry!
I just got an Alpha R2 Processor: Intel Core 6th Generation i3-6100T Processor (Dual Core, 3.2GHz, 3M Cache ,35W)Windows 10 Home 64bit English500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)8GB (1x8G) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory Non ECCAMD Radeon R9 M470X 2 GB GDDR5for brand new $514. with tax free shipping should have it by March 10th I was looking for a second living room pc

Oh! Yeah! That's right, i wasn't thinking about the two differences!
Excellent review. Good job. Thank you!
Personally the noise does not bother me as I use the OPTICAL AUDIO OUTPUT on mine to hook up to a surround sound system.

how well do you think it can handle editing hd video?
So far, i hadn't had any problem with editing HD videos, and those are the only videos i convert to from too!
Can this run Windows 10?
It sure can! That's the OS i'm currently using! Just make sure you don't get the Steam box version of Alpha R2!
can it run dayz?
While its on? i haven't tried doing it that way, and i don't like the chance of finding out either!
Yes it runs Fallout 4! I recently got Doom 2016 and it runs too!
