Making Jackson voiceless is a powerful statement. Turning the tables on who has a voice and who does not helps us re-think history through art. Good work!
Crystal Bridges! ❤ I don't recognize this piece or the ones I saw in the background. I SO want to visit again and see the changes they've made... So Kaphar is the master of the artistic remix.. His horse is so much cooler than the original, which seems timid and dainty. You'd think the message is mighty steed for a mighty man, but maybe it serves the opposite purpose in this context - to make him that much more diminished behind those ribbons. Lauren makes a strong point at the end that resonated with me. Throughout these playlists, I've wondered about that: who should be represented, who has ownership over what, etc. Much of the power rests with the storyteller / creator.
Since you are doing the "Seeing America" series can you make a video on a George Condo painting please ? He is an American contemporary artist, so I think he would fit perfectly in your series.
Nice to see that you have artists that are seen, wich critically think about the ever so free country. Actually how free is a country where wearing guns is part of normal thinking. I know each country got theyr own trouble and me as being german look rather stupid talking peace. But this artwork helps a lot to not to give up to do better. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻

Love this series! I love how contemporary art can become a continuing conversation about our history and common experiences.
This was great. Thanks for creating and offering more insight. This painting definitely triggers a lot of emotion..
