    Thanks for the support and for the in depth and solid review!!! As for the hole you were discussing, we have actually made revisions to the design to accommodate that, and now have an enlarged hole and added a countersunk washer for the hardware. It was not an issue that had come up until recently, which is why it was not assessed until very recently, but once we had a few customers let us know they were having that issue, we made sure to take care of it as soon as possible. Great video thanks again for the review!!

      Hi Artec, great hearing from you and appreciate the compliments! Also, great to hear that you guys are making adjustments to your products...that means a lot.
      Demonstrating that you stand behind your products allows me to recommend you when other Jeepers ask if I would recommend your products. Keep up the great work, love running your products on my build.

      Absolutely sucks that you don't offer one for a 2dJL. I've been happy with other products from you and was disappointed to not see that option.

    Seems that if you install this on a 2018 JLUR 2.0 w/e-torque there is no place to mount the cooling line/cable tray that goes to the 48v battery unless you buy the e-torque skid.

      Hi wildsky, I think you are correct. If your running an e-Torque, get the e-Torque skid as well.

    Did the provided long, and short arm brackets for the oil pan/ transmission skid line up correctly?

      These bolts are used for mounting driverside long arm, and passenger side long arm for the artec oil pan/ transmission skid plate.

    These sorts of things always have some minor hitches when installing. A few filks seem to have an issue with the exhaust pipes rubbing at the cross over. Glad you are liking it I had similar reason for going with artec.

      I think you're right. Artec posted on their website that although they are able to work from Jeep CAD specs, Jeep does make assembly line adjustments. I've also read about 3.6L exhaust clearance issues. Overall, I love the design and additional clearance the Artec Belly Pan provides which make the small install glitches worth it.
      Good hearing from you✌🏻

    Might have to look into this one for my JKU. I wonder how much heavier Metalcloak’s system is.

    • @ExpeditionBuilds
      @ExpeditionBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like the aluminum skids, they offer weight reduction, won't rust and 6061 will flex and return to its shape. Artec says their aluminum skids for the JKU weigh half as much as steel, but don't give us an actual number.
      I ran the RockHard 4x4 aluminum skid system on my JK build. I also ran their replacement cross member which is key to adding strength. Just for reference, the Rockhard aluminum system weighs weighs 116lbs, the HD steel cross member (28lbs) accounts for a good portion of that weight. My stock take off steel skids weighed 28lbs. The MetalCloak Steel Skids weigh 190 lbs. I hope this helps with your decision making.

    • @KansasSlim64
      @KansasSlim64 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ExpeditionBuilds Wow. I would think the stock fuel tank skid would weigh more than 28lbs by itself.

    • @ExpeditionBuilds
      @ExpeditionBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KansasSlim64 You might be right about that. Remember on the JK(U) the gas tank skid goes right on top of the stock skid. At least that is how my RockHard 4x4 went together.

    • @ArtecIndustries
      @ArtecIndustries 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes to weight the kit total is about 80lbs, but by removing your stock skids and crossmember and replacing with our skid system and crossmember, you are adding a net weight of only 55lbs to your vehicle, compared to the 190lbs that metalcloak advertises! The other thing to keep in mind aside from the large weight difference is the quality and long term durability of the 1/4" thick 6061 aluminum we use vs 7guage steel used in their skids. We also just began a 15% off sale today that is running until the end of the month which brings the price down as well! Thanks and hope that helped answer your question!!!
