I live in Oregon, near the city. We get a little bit of snow every year and it’s pretty special when we do.

I use to hate living here in the countryside, I felt stuck and I couldn't wait to make enough money to finally move to a 'first World country' but finding your channel and watching your videos, seeing you living the small town life in the most simple and elegant makes me appreciate my life a little bit more.
I decided to start documenting my life and it's has been so freeing to just be myself and share it with the world . I owe it all to you, you have been my greatest inspiration . and knowing that we share the same faith makes it even better

I use to feel the same way. I worked in a hospital and being on call for 34 years caused PTSD, I retired this May, I enjoy being away from illnesses, hurt, death, although I enjoyed those who healed because their journey healed me too, just like the country side is doing for me now. 🧡🕸👍🏻 thank you for sharing your experience.

I grew up south of Washington DC....and I feel the same way but in reverse. We're trying to leave here later this year and move into a more rural area.
I too have felt that way living rural. I'm from the city and married a Farmer. I felt isolated and stuck. After watching her videos I'm going to embrace it and move forward.
Your videos are so relaxing to watch and they give me a sense of belonging. I hope one day I could live rural like you and at peace with nature

I don't live in a rural cottage either, although I did grow up in one, but I really believe you can create a similar life in the city. You can still grow things in the garden if you have one, or in pots, if you have a chimney you can create a real fire etc. There's so much you can do. It''s also about slowing down. If you can't move to the country, bring it to you.

That little bit of wallpaper adds a magnificent splash of color and contrast in your cottage. I also love the evergreen embroidery on your bedspread as well. Yes some men do notice those kinds of minor, but significant details.
Are you dipping your feet into basket weaving? Hurray for you I believe, after some start up frustrations, you’ll find it to be quite fulfilling. You know the best thing about making your own craft items is that you are able to make it exactly how you want it to be.
As for thrifting nearly all of my woodworking hand tools are working antiques. The quality of those tools is far superior to anything made today plus they still contain many years of usefulness in them. Oh there truly is nothing better than having the intimate contact through a hand tool with a beautiful piece of heartwood cherry when making a new cherry Shaker kitchen work table.
I think my daughter asked Santa for “Two Cottage Fairy Videos” in one week. She said, “Maybe the Cottage Fairy will surprise us during the holidays and post an extra video.” Have to say I am hoping the same! It is the little things done with care that bring love and light to a home. Thank you for sharing this light with the world!🥰
Here in California, where I live, we don’t get snow. But winter is like Fall and the leaves stay colorful.

over half of california gets snow in the wintertime, just not the coastal and low elevation regions.
I am living on an acre of property that backs onto a forest. There is quite a lot of snow here, Northeastern Ontario, and it is simply beautiful. The view from my kitchen window is spectacular. I never tire of the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Winter is my time to do all the indoor chores that I don’t have time for in the summer, drink the peppermint tea that I harvested and dehydrated, and bake beautiful foods and enjoy my preserves. ☮️💕

Hi; I'm living outside Winchester in Hampshire, England. Our winters are mainly wet, windy and grey with occasional snow. I love all the seasons except if its too hot and humid. I used to live in Sweden where temperatures would typically be -28 degrees. Winters there are proper - lots of snow, v short days, and v long dark nights. I admire what you're doing with your life. I'm a bit like you myself searching for deeper meaning and roots.

Watching your videos always makes me feel better about slowing down with life. I live in a big city and slowing down is looked down upon or considered unproductive. But you made believe otherwise. I think slowing down is vital to your mental health and creativity
My favorite time with the big snows is right after it's pretty much all slowed down, but people still don't want to leave their homes yet. Everything is perfectly quiet, and I love it dearly. Doesn't happen too often, as I live in an urban area in CO, but goodness does it bring me joy!

I live in Minnesota where we also get quite intense winters. As someone who experiences extreme seasonal depression for half the year, this was wonderful to see. I find it very easy to get lost in the emptiness of the winter, and this video reminded me of the simplicity that comes with it. I often forget how magical this time used to be, so thank you
The sounds in this video are so soothing, and relaxing. The brush against the wall, the block used to smooth the paper out, peeling the beans. It’s basically ASMR
Thank you once again for this calm, sweet video. I so look forward to every Wednesday when I can spend time with you in your lovely cottage and to watch them over and over again during the week. You inspired me to make my own Pot Pourri this week. I dried Cranberries, Lemons, Oranges, and pomegranate. Added orange and persimmon peel, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and pinecones. Then I sprinkled an orange essential oil. It is so lovely. Also, Loved the new wallpaper and the reference to one of my most favorite children's books (I am from England, originally.) I now live on Whidbey Island in WA and I'm so fortunate to be able to work from home as an author. There is nothing more magical than sitting by my woodfire this time of year creating places and characters that sweep me away to another time and place. Keep making these wonderful videos I love them so much.

I too love vintage things , and often will find free things on sidewalks and garage sales . There are always those things that most people just don't want. I repurpose them into things that l can use on a daily basis . I absolutely love your wall paper , it's so colorful and will help push the winter doldrums right out the door . The view by your window is incredible. I live in Paris (France) and for the moment, we have a lot of rain. I live there since 2012 and we don’t really have snow or it melts quite fast. But every time I see some snowflakes it brings me joy. To fight the cold and the rain, I love to drink lots of tea and wrap myself in cosy blankets

I live in the beautiful province of New Brunswick, Canada, where winters can be long and cold, but fortunately, very sunny. I, too, live in a small cottage on the outskirts of the oldest incorporated city in Canada. We love the change of seasons and enjoy snuggling up in front of the wood stove on cold, snowy days.
Making paste great idea. I was concerned that pest love to eat paste. Try adding some boric acid.
This made me cry, it was just so lovely and sweet :)
