Beautiful!! Also Sheriff Mort was quite a handsome man and great addition to Laramie, overall Laramie has stood the test of time as one of the great western series of our time*****
Like a hand in a glove these two just fit together so perfectly. Great video showing so many scenes where their brotherhood was displayed so touchingly. Love it!
Where there is love... the way all the characters cared about the others plus the decency and honor they all had -- that's what made Laramie so very special.... and we that were lucky enough to have it as part of our childhood gave back in full measure the love they so richly deserved. John Smith is gone, but I hope that Robert Fuller truely knows how very much he is appreciated and loved.
Nancy rance - Actually Robert Fuller once said in an interview that most of that was an accident, not how it was written but that during the tussle he tripped and they both fell in the water trough but it was so good that they kept it rather than redoing it.
Thanks for this very beautiful video! Thanks to Slim and Jess to have existed in Laramie..Thanks Slim to have been my hero in the childhood..and forever!
Watching this video, not only bring me to tears, but put a beautiful smile on my face, to see such a wonderful friendship. I know John is looking down with that wonderful smile to see Robert and him as great pards Rest in peace John Smith
Watching this, it hard to think of Jess turning 85 years old and Slim passing away years ago! 💔 Every Man dreamed of having that kind of BEST FRIEND! I know I did and still do!😟
I loved this show when I was a kid. I'd sit on my daddies knee and we would both watch it and even though I was just a babe I loved Jess Harper...Robert Fullar. My mother still loves him and she is 85 years old now. Years later at the Memphis convention I met Bob and he was everything I had ever dreamed him to be. A thorough gentleman. He gave me a dance at the dinner and talked my ears off about the Scottish Highlands where I come from. A real nice man. I asked him what his secret was since for his age he still looked amazing. He told me. "Hard work running his ranch and a good woman." He made me smile cause he asked me the same question telling me I didn't look my age...and I mirrored his response. "Hard work and a good man." he laughed his ears off. A good and decent man. No wonder he is loved.
Flower - Thank you for your comments. I would have loved to meet him but it will never be possible. Comments from people who have let the rest of us know him better, and for me it reafirms that what I sensed when I was six years old and Jess Harper rode into my life, was really true. Thank you !!!
True some times a friend is there more than a brother you are lucky to have a true friend Slim@Jess shows you what real friendship is all about so if you have one treasure them and be grateful lord knows they are rare
They were like brothers! One of the best scenes is the water trough scene! Haha I lose it everytime! Hope you saw my latest video of these two. And good job on this as usual!
The water trough was a blooper they left in. Only Jess was supposed to go in, but they slipped in the mud around the tough, and both went in. Glad they left the blooper in, it's just add to their friendship, they both look like they are having a great time.
What a loving couple they made...yes, I said loving...more than a platonic relationship...certainly not an erotic relationship, that would have ruined it. I sure they immolated many cowboy pardners, buddies and couples after the Civil War. It interesting how the producers introduced three new characters into the Laramie series to save Jess and Slim from the growing gay culture of the late 60s and early 70s. I could have watched them forever. The episodes got predictable with every passing season, but they made their caring for each other real and the fans didn't complain. There have been no series since that could come close to life they portrayed.
Slim and Jess were opposite but friends Slim was the good one Jess the bad one but who don't like the bad boys they makes things more exciting and especially if they are good to look at too and sexy to booth lol

I agree I want to remember slim and Jess as brothers. That’s how it should be.
The scene with the water troff is a classic....probably never see that acted so perfect. Great scene.
Before there was Jim West and Artemus Gordon,Batman and Robin their was Slim Sherman and Jess Harper

Wonder quality! Thank you!!
Fuller is still active at conventions; Smith died in 1995.
True or false? Sometimes a friend is there more often than a brother.
