Never had a PC engine, but I do appreciate video pinball (actually my first was on the 2600 - Video Pinball!). But I think Pinball Dreams on the Amiga was my first "realistic" pinball game. Loved that game :D Anyway, really enjoying your videos Hde; I'm getting a real vibe of Ahoy from them!! - your voice, style, and attention to detail. Surprised you don't have more subscribers.....
Ooooh, Video Pinball for the 2600! I actually have that one queued up to look at sometime. I've got fond memories of Pinball Dreams and its follow up as well. Thanks for the kind words. TH-cam is honestly a bit of a slog at the moment - I think the issue is more that the site is basically not showing my content to new viewers. Or even my subscriber base! It's always great to hear that people are enjoying it, though.
It's nice to see a solid pinball game. I do like the fact it's a single table as it clearly shows a focus on delivering one as perfect as can be experience. Great video and keep up the great work!
Thanks, Dean! I've always thought that, when you play an actual table, a huge part of the experience is the character and detailing of that specific machine. So I have a soft spot for games that just provide an isolated table. There are some AWESOME multi-table games out there. But I find the temptation is always to flip between them without really taking time to get the best from any of them.
Cheers, Tamara! This one tends to be a bit pricey these days, going by a cursory search through Ebay. I think its cropped up on a few virtual storefronts, though.
Finally a game I own! Bought it in late April so I haven´t had much time with it yet, but I also like the Alien-aesthetic. Another game I bought was Time Ball, it felt like an amusing pinball game with the oddball choice of several screens linked both upwards and sideways. Crazy idea, but another well made PCE game.
My bad! Time Cruise is the name of the pinball game! The Japanese version is called Time Cruise II. Time Ball is another name for the puzzle game Blodia...
Oddly enough, I've been looking into a few games that feature Alien inspired creatures and scenarios lately. It's pretty wild how a lot of older games - especially for home computer platforms - ripped off the Xeno wholesale! I didn't even know Worms Pinball was a thing. Might have to have a look for that. I do like the Worms games, so I'm curious how a pinball game might riff on them.
@@hdestotallyunoriginalgamin3555 It manages to capture the spirit of the first Worms game - but it's still very much a pinball game - an interesting concept which shouldn't work but does somehow?!.
I do find it fascinating how so many licensed pinball games manage to make brilliant use of familiar aspects of the things they're based on. Recently, I've been playing the Aliens table in Pinball FX3 on the Switch. Mind blowing stuff - it features modes based on key scenes from the movie that actually make a lot of sense in the context of pinball. It's really amazing what game designers can do when they take this kind of thing to heart.

"Ball physics" made me smile, but then I'm immature. Good vid. I always quite liked "Space Cadet" that used to come with Windows!
A few folks have mentioned a pinball game that used to be packaged with Windows - but you're the first to put a name to it!
Great Video! I love pinball games and this is one I've been hoping to get for quite a while.
Cheers, Tamara!

I've not actually heard of Time Ball! Might have to give that a look.

Ahh! I know Blodia. And the name Time Cruise rings a bell. I've certainly not played it though. Consider it noted on the List Of Interesting Things.
It's amazing how many games that aren't Alien games feature Xenomorphs!. - Worms pinball for PS1 is pretty good - although an odd combination.

@@hdestotallyunoriginalgamin3555 sounds interesting!.
If I can work out how to capture clean footage of it, I may do a review sometime.
Awesome game and excellent review!
Thanks, Donald - glad you enjoyed it! Hoping I can feature some more pinball games next season.
