I don't think I'll ever get the hate Licence to Kill gets man. Absolutely loved Dalton in the role and Davi's performance as the villain and basically every scene they interact. There's just something about the intensity and swagger Dalton brought to the one, as well as one of the coolest premises in the series, that makes it place at least in the top 5 to me.
Agreed. As someone who initially grew up on Roger Moore I intently disliked it. But then a funny thing happened... It grew on me and by the time I was a teenager - even before Casino Royale - I started to dig serious bond! Now for me it would be 11th, possibly 10th on my rankings. Slightly rough around the edges but overall a solid picture!
But then again…. That is the BIGGEST PROBLEM with todays society…. Choosing their words in order to “make friends” rather than to say what they really think and feel.
My favorite scene in LTK has to be the Q scene. Seeing how alarmed and genuinely shocked Bond is to see that he had just tackled Q, of all people, to the floor is just so hilarious and the emotion we get from Bond in that moment is just so good.

@@Brinta3 It'd be interesting to see how he ranks the unfortunately titled 'No Time to Die' - and then re-ranks the rest of that quartet. By rights this would drag Daniel Craig down to below Dalton. All opinion, of course, and no 'right' answers.
Top 6 Bond films: 1. From Russia With Love 2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 3. The Living Daylights 4, Casino Royale 5. Goldeneye 6. Live And Let Die
Really enjoyed this. So pleased Thunderball was up there, don't get the hate, it's such a classic. But as for Licence To Kill, it's my third favourite Bond film, a film ahead of its time.
Yeah I agree with both of your opinions. Thunderball is a top 5 Bond film for me, and while LtK is not in my top 10, it’s still a really good Bond film.
The problem with Thunderball is that it’s a good 90 minute movie stretched far past its natural lifespan. There’s plenty of great scenes, but it drags on far too long and shows us too much of the villain’s plan. It also doesn’t help that the most memorable thing about the main villain is his eyepatch. It could’ve been great, but it needed substantial trimming.
Top 10 (in order): Casino Royale Goldfinger From Russia With Love Goldeneye The Spy Who Loved Me Skyfall Thunderball No Time to Die Dr. No The World Is Not Enough Honorable Mentions; You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service
“A View To A Kill” was my first Bond film. I was 13 years old. I enjoyed the film and still do. “Octopussy” is one of my favorites as well and I thought one of Moores best. I liked “License to Kill” better then “The Living Daylights”.
Very interesting list! Love how TND is in your top 5, that’s a rare thing you and I have in common….aside from being diehard Bond fans! Here’s my top 5: 5. Tomorrow Never Dies / The Spy Who Loved Me 4. Skyfall 3. License To Kill 2. Casino Royale 1. Goldeneye
That would never work you cant measure Greatest in Art or Movies because it is subjective or opinionated now I've always said there's a big difference favorite and greatest but greatest only works for sports Buildings and Mountains but Greatnest not for Movies and especially Bond not to mention Boring all the same it has to be subjective or personal favorite
I was trying to say this during the stream, but I didn't want to post too much as there were so many viewers and it was hard enough to read everything as it is, but I wanted to say David, that I'm glad that someone with as much integrity and class as you gets to live the Bond lifestyle. Thank you for what you do. We could use a lot more channels that keep an upbeat attitude and help others in their lives. It's much appreciated. Well wishes to you.
I think it’s fairer to rank these within the actor and the decade in which these were released. Love your videos David! You’re the man! Just between you and me I’m more of a Roger Moore fan than Daniel Craig so the Roger one’s being so low on your list was hard to watch. LOL. Best to worst within the category…….. Sean Connery: 1. It's my mates number 1 Bond movie. He watches it again and again. I think it has something to do with the fact he saw it as a kid and it's stuck in his consciousness .

I'll go through your choices one at a time and give my remarks. 24) A View to a Kill - While this certainly isn't a masterpiece, it isn't the worst Bond film either. There are certainly issues, most notably Stacy Sutton, but the movie doesn't have the major writing issues that some films in the series do. Christopher Walken plays a great villain; May Day is an interesting character and I like the main storyline. I put it 20th out of the 25 eon films. 23) License to Kill - It isn't top 10, but it is just outside the top 10. I do think that Dalton leaves a little to be desired, but it has a great surrounding cast and a good storyline, even though it feels like a generic 80s action movie rather than a Bond film. It seems more like the type of movie that you would see Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris or Mel Gibson in rather than a Bond film. 22) Die Another Day - It is bottom five for me, but you don't have the four I put below it here yet, one of which is probably not ranked (No Time to Die). It does suffer from bad writing, but Brosnan did a great job and I really like Miranda Frost. Gustav Graves and Jinx were awful though. It also recycled the main plot from Diamonds are Forever. 21) Diamonds are Forever - I have this as a mid-tier Bond film. It has a few bad moments, but it doesn't have outright bad writing like some films do. I like the casting choices and I feel that Connery turned in a better performance than he did in You Only Live Twice. It is enjoyable to watch, which is the main thing. 20) Moonraker - Like AVTAK, it isn't a masterpiece, but you literally have not ranked any of the bottom four movies yet! Moore is great in this one, as is Hugo Drax and Jaws. I admit that Holly Goodhead is mediocre, and the laser fight scene is a bit much, it is better than bottom five. I put it bottom 10, but certainly not bottom five. 19) Octopussy - This is a top 10 Bond film. Great Moore performance, great villain in Kamal Khan, a great henchman in Gobinda two great Bond girls in Octopussy and Magda and a great plot. 18) For Your Eyes Only - This isn't too far off, I have this one 16th overall. It has a so-so cast around Moore and the plot line is just OK. It really seems to be lacking on the stakes part as Bond is basically fighting a middleman and nothing seems world shattering. It just seems like you don't care for Roger Moore at this point. 17) The Man with the Golden Gun - No surprise here that you ranked yet another Roger Moore film. It's top 10 for me. Scaramanga is one of the best villains, Nick Knack is a great henchman and I like Mary Goodnight. She is having fun, and she is fun to watch. I actually guessed that this would be next simply because you are ranking all the Moore films at the bottom. 16) The Living Daylights - I do have this one a touch higher than FYEO, but that is because the casting around Dalton was far superior to what Moore got. Honestly these two should be ranked close together. I think that Kara Milovy is seriously underrated in this film. 15) Spectre - This movie is a total dumpster fire. Daniel Craig was checked out and only there for the money, it has a terrible Bond girl, bad villains and it stole the plot from an Austin Powers movie, and none of that even gets to the worst part of this movie: the terrible retconning. The shoehorning in of Spectre and Blofeld makes things too convoluted. If Blofeld set everything up from the beginning, as he says in the movie, then he had to know far too many events beforehand. He had to know that Bond would become a 00 agent, he had to know that Le Chiffre would be his first assignment, he had to know that Vesper would be paired with him as an agent, he had to know Bond would win the poker tournament, he had to know that Bond would fall for Vesper. He had to know that Vesper would betray Bond and not fall for him. He probably even had to know that Le Chiffre would lose the money in the first place to set up the whole poker tournament. This is just the mess it makes out of Casino Royale. If you take Spectre as anything more than continuity errors, it messes up the three previous films. I put this film in my personal bottom three. So yes, 15th is WAY too high. You shouldn't rate it more highly than deserved because of the "experiences you had outside the movie". Watching this in the future when you said "It's something that I think we're hopefully going to recover from with No Time to Die" made me laugh. Little did you know that No Time to Die would actually be worse! 14) You Only Live Twice - This one is in about the right spot. It was Connery's weakest performance in an Eon production, and they should have combined the roles of Kissy and Aki, but otherwise everything works really well. Donald Pleasance was hands down the best Blofeld and the hollowed-out volcano is awesome. 13) The Spy Who Loved Me - Really? This is easily a top 5 Bond film. The hate for Moore is real. What more could you actually ask for in a Bond film? This is Moore's best performance, Anya is a top tier Bond girl, and Jaws is a top tier henchman. This is ranked low for how good the film is and for the fact that you have far inferior movies not ranked yet. I rank this one first overall. I actually thought that you would at least give this movie its due and rank it in the top 10 at worst. 12) On Her Majesty's Secret Service - This one should be WAY lower. I rank it 24th, but only because NTTD does everything wrong. Lazenby can't act, the plot is ridiculous: Blofeld will destroy the world unless you make him a count. Who would actually refuse this request in lieu of the ramifications? The writing is held together by a series of coincidences, I don't buy the love story, which is key to the whole movie and the casting is bad. At least you put it this low because people act like it's some type of masterpiece which I really can't understand unless they feel bad for it because it was widely held as the worst Bond film for decades or they feel it connects Daniel Craig to the series. This is the Bond film that I have a hard time watching because it drags on and is so ponderous. 11) The World is not Enough - I put this in the top 10. Brosnan was great, Elektra and Renard were great, I even like Christmas Jones. This movie is generally underrated, so I won't get on your case because you have it higher than most. 10) Goldfinger - Wow. This is a top 5 Bond film. Great Villain, great Connery performance, great henchman and great action. The only thing lacking in this film is that it has so-so Bond girls, but everything else more than makes up for it. I like that Goldfinger looks like an average guy that could be anyone's uncle and the plot where he is just trying to enrich himself is really good. 9) Quantum of Solace - This one is another dumpster fire. It belongs in the bottom five. The writing is bad the main villain and main henchman is the worst villain/henchman pairing ever and the villain's master plan is laughable. The guy wants to sell bottled water for profit. Who is Bond going to go after next? Aquafina? Bond throwing Mathis in a dumpster is out of character as well. The editing and camera work ruins the action scenes, and the pacing is bad. This doesn't even feel like a Bond film, it feels like they are trying to make a cheap Jason Bourne rip-off. I don't know how this one can come anywhere near the top 10. The only good thing in it is the Bond girls and Mr. White's small appearance. I have to assume you are just a big Daniel Craig fanboy at this point, which would explain why you don't care for Roger Moore. 8) Dr No - This is higher than I rank this one. For me it is a middling Bond film. Connery is great, but the film was basically finding its footing throughout the whole runtime. It is a great pilot episode, and everything was built upon it, but I think there are plenty of Bond movies that have surpassed it. 7) Goldeneye - This one belongs in the top five, so I can't complain about the placement, but I'm pretty sure that there is only one top 5 movie left, so my issue is with those ranked ahead of it. Great Brosnan performance, great villains and great Bond girls. Much like Goldfinger and The Spy Who Loved Me, what more can you ask for in a Bond movie? 6) Skyfall - This is a top 10 Bond film and easily Craig's best film, but I rate it slightly lower. I agree Silva is a great villain and Judy Dench goes out on a high note. 5) Live and Let Die - this is a top 10 film, not quite this high though. If Moore failed here the series would have died. I like Kananga and his menagerie of henchmen. I think it was a cool idea to have a lot of interesting henchmen rather than just one strong one. I also really like Solitaire in this film. 4) Tomorrow Never Dies - I have it in the top 10, but a little lower. I like Goldeneye and TWINE better though. It is underrated, but most Brosnan films are underrated right now. 3) From Russia with Love - a top five film for me. I rank it pretty equally with Goldfinger. 2) Thunderball - a good movie, but I rank it mid-tier. Too many underwater scenes, which cause it to drag a little bit. It does have the best duo of Bond girls in Domino and Fiona Volpe. 1) Casino Royale - This is a good film, but it is mid-tier for me. Every time I watch this film, I come away with the same feeling. It just doesn't feel like a Bond film. I actually call it the Bond film for non-Bond fans. A good movie, but it isn't what I want to see in a Bond film. I want a gentleman spy that uses his wits and a few gadgets to get out of trouble, not a Jason Bourne style super soldier.
Especially with the thinly based references to Murdoch and the media manipulation of world events in the name of greed. Even truer these days than it was 24 years ago.
Something people often miss is that scales are not always strictly linear. Without going as far as calling it logarithmic, a Bond appreciation scale may have very uneven spacing, especially because of the Bond actor' changes
Someone in the cat wrote on OHMSS "Connery would have been bored as in YOLT" - the thing is, the orginal plans were to do OHMSS first and Connery was very much looking forward to the film, especially since it included an actual love story. Then they couldn't get the proper locations just now and thence decided to do YOLT in Japan first. It was this that caused Connery's boredom and being hassled by fans in Japan made it worse. I would have loved to see Connery in OHMSS. However, we'll never know if they would have brought in a star like Diana Rigg in that case.
Agreed. Connery and Diana Rigg YES! Although the relationship between Sean & Teresa's Father would have to be different.. but I can see Sean in the green Aston (Much more than doing Joey Chitwood stunts in a Mustang) Not sure Telly Savalas would seem as menacing against Connery..Good mental exercise though.. It could have been great.
10: Licence to Kill 9: Moonraker 8: The Spy Who Loved Me 7: Thunderball 6: Dr. No 5: From Russia With Love 4: Skyfall 3: Goldfinger 2: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service 1: Casino Royale
Great interaction with the fans and video, overall. No two Bond fans are the same in their rankings and that's okay. I feel I can enjoy all 24 with finding something worthwhile or memorable in each entry. Also, the older I get the more I've learned to accept the films as they were intended and be slightly less critical. Can't wait for Bond 25. Fingers crossed for that Fall 2021 release 🤞.
well said man. i'm still maybe a little critical of other peoples tatse so i'm still learning to accept that other people have epirenced these movies very differently to me.
Can’t be bothered ranking all of them but my top ten is roughly: 1. Thunderball 2. From Russia With Love 3. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service 4. The Spy Who Loved Me 5. The Living Daylights/ Goldeneye 6. Casino Royale 7. Goldfinger 8. You Only Live Twice 9. Octopussy 10. Dr No Honourable mentions: Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only & Licence To Kill.
On her Majesty Secret Service number 12 whaaaaaat!!!!! It’s got to be on the top 10 at least! It’s in my top five. I mean it’s one of my favorite books it’s actually the first book I ever read in the bond series and that’s what made me fall in love with James Bond.
Thunderball was always Connery's best, and probably the most important of the films for the rest of the franchise. It is the maturity and coalescence of Bond as a genre and had a profound effect on film and culture in 1965. Really more so than the previous 3 alone. And it was BY FAR the most popular Bond film in its time. Something like 60 million tickets were sold in the US alone, which is insane -- if you were to adjust it to today's ticket prices you're talking like $800 million just from the US market. And if you were to adjust for population we'd be talking something like 100 million tickets in the US if that were today. Not to mention Connery was still invested in the role -- filming in the Bahamas certainly helped -- which is really important because his indifference definitely affected YOLT and DAF. IMO Thunderball is THE early Bond film above all the others.
@@codpro627 Because it's the maturity of all the Bond movie tropes we think of relative to the subsequent movies. All of the Bond movies that came after pull from Thunderball in some way; and yes, Thunderball pulls from the previous three, but it does it in a way that we know of as Bond. It codified the genre in many ways, to the point that spoofs of Bond are basically spoofs of Thunderball. And Thunderball was unbelievably successful. More successful than any other Bond movie in its own time in terms of ticket sales. Now if you want to make the argument that OHMSS is the most important because it showed they could move on from Connery, then that's an argument that could be had.

I think Daniel Craig is the GOAT James Bond, but Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery are a close second. I also like Timothy Dalton and Roger Moore, those two are super underrated. I think all of the Bond actors were great. Tomorrow Never Dies was the first Bond film I saw, I enjoy it even more now. Also, I think Michelle Yeoh is the GOAT Bond Girl, she fights like Jackie Chan. James Bond is pure entertainment.
On my list I'd put the Craig movies after Casino in the bottom 4. Movies like DAF & AVTAK are weak movies but I still get some enjoyment out of them, I can't say the same for most of the Craig era. Thank you for putting TND that high as I find it to be one of the best Bond movies and a movie that works better now than it did back in 97.

David! Thank you soo much for the deep deep love and passion you show towards not just The Way of The Bond! LIFE in general the energy is contagious! Myself being of long Jamaican lineage, with a very large family down there! So you can imagine how much I enjoyed the Stunning Goldeneye tour! Such a brilliant amount of smiles and sips! Cheers 🥂
Five months late to this ranking video but enjoying every minute. Shouting at the tv with my own thoughts and opinions. Thank you for the quality content David!
AN UNTOLD STORY: After "Thunderball" Sean Connery had agreed with the producers to make "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". In his interview to PLAYBOY on November 1965, Connery said that the plan was "to start On Her Majesty's Secret Service in Switzerland in January" (1966). And then stated: "But we have to be careful where we go next, because I think with Thunderball we've reached the limit as far as size and gimmicks are concerned... What is needed now is a change of course ... more attention to character and better dialogue". As we see, Sean Connery was anticipating (and not bored) on doing OHMSS because it was a challenge for him to act in a darker and more complex Bond movie. He wanted to work in depth with the evolution of Bond's character. But then the producers decided to make YOLT instead of OHMSS (because of some snow problems in Switzerland). Sean Connery was hugely disappointed. From then on he lost interest for the series. Knowing what an actor he became to be, Connery would have made OHMSS his greatest Bond movie...
Great video. My father took me to the cinema for my first Bond movie, The Spy Who Loved Me. I still remember being scared of Richard Kiel as Jaws. For sentimental reasons, I always love this movie.
Tomorrow Never Dies is one of my absolute favorites, I’m glad to see David defend it! Possibly the best soundtrack in the whole series and it hits all the Bond beats for me.
Quantum just such choppy editing, ugh, that car chase, hotel fight scene, white, horse race scene so choppy, have to watch in slow motion. Quantum and Spectre I can’t sit through.
Its an art-house film experiment. I like the cinematography, the performances, and music. Yes, the editing is too quick, but I think its a solid continuation of Casino Royale.
Just bought the bond collection and I’m rewatching them all. So far through Thunderball, tomorrow never dies and you only live twice. So far YOLT is the best! Now I’ve seen plenty of bond it won’t be in my top 5 but I made a new discovery with that watch!
Wow, Thunderball is number two! It's no in my top five, but I am seriously glad that a Bond influencer is giving this film much-needed love. It's been disparaged by many as of late, and tbh this film had a huge impact on the Bond franchise as a whole.

HI David, from the U.K. I have a question that i think you are the only person with the ability to answer?' Having just finished watching both Casino Royale & Quantum, Although Bond embarks on a 'semi 'Revenge' type adventure trying to bring Vespers Killers to some kind of justice. Quantum Ends with a short coversation with M. He tells her that she was right about vesper and that he never left MI6, before throwing the Love Knot away.Is this telling us the viewers that He has come to consider that the only woman he ever loved, up until that point , By throwing away the necklese that he considers his vengence forfilled and moves on.. to becoming the Bond we know and never until Spectre does he drop his gaurd where women are concerned? Thanks & your opinion?
Wish I'd known about this channel before the livestream. What I love most about this video is David's list is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like mine. The beauty is NO-ONE is wrong. We all love and not-love-so-much different Bond movies.
I don’t agree with many of your picks, but Tomorrow Never Dies is a criminally underrated bond movie. Definitely in the top 10. It’s one of the only bond films that doesn’t have a minute of boring screen time.

Hi David, very good film ranking! THANK YOU for defending Thunderball and Tomorrow Never Dies, two of my favorite Bond films. And we also agree about A View To A Kill being the worst Bond film (but to the fans who like it, great). I too have ranked the James Bond films on my channel if you’d ever like to see how I stack them up (look for the playlist version on my channel for easier viewing). Thanks again David, and long live James Bond! 😊

Great video David, loved seeing your opinions on the franchise. Without a doubt the best thing about the Bond community is the diversity in opinions. Keep up the amazing work, and Diamonds Are Forever is awesome ;)
Love the diversity of everyone’s lists. Mine’s quite different, as you’ll see...but Quantum at 9? Oi...Here’s my list after finally watching through all the Bonds. Glad to see someone else who ranks Quantum of Solace as is of the better films. I think it definitely holds up better now than when it was first released.
Great ranking and rationale! I enjoyed it. Here is mine: 24) Diamonds are Forever 23) Quantom of Solace 22) A View to a Kill 21) The Man with the Golden Gun 20) Octopussy 19) Spectre 18) Die Another Day 17) The World is Not Enough 16) Thunderball 15) The Living Daylights 14) License to Kill 13) Dr. No 12) On Her Majesty’s Secret Service 11) Casino Royale 10) You Only Live Twice 9) Skyfall 8) Moonraker 7) Live and Let Die 6) The Spy Who Loved Me 5) Goldfinger 4) Tomorrow Never Dies 3) For Your Eyes Only 2) From Russia with Love 1) Goldeneye
Just watched this for the first time so pardon me for being late to the party. Pouring a drink now. I won’t analyze your list too much, except to say that Live and Let Die was the first Bond film I ever saw (at a drive-in!) and it’s definitely in my top three. It was basically Roger Moore’s debut version of what Daniel did in Casino Royale. From Russia with love is my favorite Connery, and as a high schooler in 85 A View to A Kill almost killed ME! Except for the opening song…
Goldfinger is a PERFECT Bond film. In fact all the Bond tropes come from this film. The original and best. Thunderball is a snooze fest tbh. Love the video David....and the arguments.
1. The world is not enough A+ 2. GoldenEye A+ 3. Casino Royale A+ 4. Licence to Kill A 5. Tomorrow never dies A 6. Casino Royale A 7. Living Daylights A- 8. Dr. No B+ 9. Goldfinger B+ 10. Skyfall B Honorable mentions: Diamonds are forever, From Russia with Love, On his Majestys Secret Service
My first Bond movie was Moonraker because my mother would not let my Dad take me to The Spy Loved Me due to my age. I would have placed The Living Daylights at the bottom of my list.
This was an awesome video. I didn’t get a chance to watch this live, but I’m glad that I got to watch this. My list is different for sure, but I think that’s what makes this franchise so great. It spans nearly 60 years and so you have people who all have there own personal list and that’s what makes this film franchise so unique. With Star Wars films and MCU films, people generally have an idea on which films are great which films are good and which ones are bad. With Bond you can meet someone who doesn’t like Moonraker and the next day meet someone who loves Moonraker. Maybe no one will agree with me on that, but that’s truly how I feel. So here is my ranking and to be honest if you want to say it’s the worst ranking of all time I’ll completely understand, but this is truly how I feel about them. I should point out that even though it’s not an official Bond film, I included Never Say Never Again. 1. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (George Lazenby) 2. Casino Royale (Daniel Craig) 3. Goldfinger (Sean Connery) 4. The Spy Who Loved Me (Roger Moore) 5. Thunderball (Connery) 6. Skyfall (Craig) 7. For Your Eyes Only (Moore) 8. From Russia With Love (Connery) 9. Live and Let Die (Moore) 10. Spectre (Craig) 11. The Living Daylights (Timothy Dalton) 12. Tomorrow Never Dies (Pierce Brosnan) 13. License to Kill (Dalton) 14. Goldeneye (Brosnan) 15. You Only Live Twice (Connery) 16. Dr. No (Connery) 17. Moonraker (Moore) 18. A View to A Kill (Moore) 19. Never Say Never Again (Connery)* 20. Quantum of Solace (Craig) 21. The World is Not Enough (Brosnan) 22. Octopussy (Moore) 23. The Man With the Golden Gun (Moore) 24. Diamonds Are Forever (Connery) 25. Die Another Day (Brosnan)
My Ranking: 1. Casino Royale 2. Goldfinger 3. Goldenye 4. Skyfall 5. The Spy Who Loved Me 6. License to Kill 7. From Russia With Love 8. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 9. The Living Daylights 10. For Your Eyes Only 11. Tomorrow Never Dies 12. The World Is Not Enough 13. Live and Let Die 14. Dr. No 15. You Only Live Twice 16.Thunderball 17. Spectre 18. Octopussy 19. Moonraker 20. The Man with The Golden Gun 21. Die Another Day 22. Diamonds Are Forever 23. Quantom Of Solace 24. A View To A Kill
I just watched this video today, about one year after it’s initial posting and I disagree with several of your list but that is good. It would be a boring world if everyone agreed on everything. ‘Octopussy’ is one of my least favorite films of the franchise but still watchable. ‘A View to a Kill’ is my favorite Bond film starring Roger Moore, I know that I am in a minority but I love this film. ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” is in my top 5, I love every aspect of this film. I greatly appreciate your list and your love of Bond
FULLY agree on Tomorrow Never Dies! On latest rewatches I've actually wondered.. could I like this more than Goldeneye.. was I holding Goldeneye above unfairly!? TMD super fun, perfect pace, never boring.
Factoring objective movie quality first and fun/cool/guilty pleasure factor second I'd rank them like this. I've only seen No Time to Die once so I find it hard to rank it until I see it again to watch it with a more critical eye. 1. From Russia with Love - 2. Casino Royale 3. Thunderball 4. Goldeneye 5. The Spy Who Loved Me 6. On Her Majesties Secret Service 7. Goldfinger 8. Skyfall 9. Dr. No 10. You Only Live Twice 11. Live and Let Die 12. The World is Not Enough 13. The Living Daylights 14. For Your Eyes Only 15. Moonraker 16. The Man with The Golden Gun 17. Spectre 18. License to Kill 19. Diamonds are Forever 20. Tomorrow Never Dies 21. Octopussy 22. Quantum of Solace 23. Die Another Day 24. A View to a Kill
I'm relatively new to your channel i loved this video. I don't agree with most of your choices but that makes me wish to discuss Bond with you more than most people. At thevend of the day the worst bond movie isn't actually a bad film and there's nothing to love in each and every one. Fascinating list keep up the amazing work
1. OHMSS 2. Casino Royale 3. Dr. No 4. From Russia with Love 5. Spy Who Loved Me 6. Goldfinger 7. Goldeneye 8. Skyfall 9. License to Kill 10. Live and Let Die 11. World is Not Enough 12. Diamonds are Forever 22. A View to a Kill 23. Die Another Day 24. Spectre
I respect the hell out of you, your channel, your knowledge, insight, and your insane collection of bond memorabilia. That being said I hate this list lol
Great list! I personally would rank The Living Daylights and Goldfinger higher up the list, but I LOVE this list. Of all the Bond TH-camrs, you’re definitely the one on my wavelength. Keep up the great content. Top man! 👏
Hey David, I just came cross this recording. Wish I had known about your channel at the time of the live stream. Oh well, next best thing is to save this for Happy Hour, mix. Cocktail or two, and enjoy a belated “Bond Experience!” Cheers.

SO enjoying this on the day after! As an American, I can agree that most Bond films set in America feel off to me! "TV movie" is a PERFECT way to explain this phenomenon! I do think Connery's performance in Diamonds is lovely though; he seemed way more engaged and charming than in You Only Live Twice!
Here is my list (from the best to the worst): 1. From Russia With Love 2. Goldfinger 3. Thunderball 4. Skyfall 5. Goldeneye 6. The Living Daylights 7. The Spy Who Loved Me 8. Casino Royale 9. I listened to your Living Daylights review, in which you said it was 7.5 or 8. It is my favorite, and I was really pleased to hear it. Yet I tune in to this and it is rated behind *The Man with the Golden Gun*? That is the only Bond movie that I have a very hard time watching; I've seen it only 2 or 3 times in my life. Other than Britt Eklund in a bikini and Christopher Lee, it just doesn't have anything going for it. I do salute you for not overrating OHMSS, which has become so common lately.
@@HOTD108_ I did confuse the rankings. I was irate about MWGG being rated ahead of For Your Eyes Only, then saw Living Daylights drop, and get topped by Spectre, which was a real let down for me. MWGG is IMO an objectively BAD movie. FYEO was a great return to reality after Moonraker.
Your ranking matches up with mine on #1 (Casino Royale), 3 (From Russia with Love), 6 (Skyfall), 18 (For Your Eyes Only), 20 (Moonraker), 21(Diamonds are Forever), 23 (License to Kill), and 24 (A View to a Kill). But we are way off on Live and Let Die (17 vs 5), OHMSS (2 vs 12), and Die Another Day (14 vs 22).
I do admire your tenacity in the way you kept going through this whilst all the live comments were coming through. I've just newly subscribed which is why I see this only now. My ranking of 25 EON films is below. I am not a fan of Craig's portrayal, as you may discern, but it's also about the Quantum of Fun that is had when watching and Craig's films are not much fun, and that's before being slapped in the face with the destruction of Bond lore. 1 On Her Majesty's Secret Service 2 The Spy Who Loved Me 3 From Russia With Love 4 Goldfinger 5 The World Is Not Enough 6 GoldenEye 7 Live and Let Die 8 You Only Live Twice 9 Moonraker 10 Octopussy 11 For Your Eyes Only 12 Licence To Kill 13 Casino Royale 14 Thunderball 15 Dr No 16 The Living Daylights 17 The Man With the Golden Gun 18 Diamonds Are Forever 19 Skyfall 20 Tomorrow Never Dies 21 A View to a Kill 22 Die Another Day 23 Quantum of Solace 24 Spectre 25 No Time To Die

I saw a video from reddit last week, where someone edited clips from LtK to change its colouring to make it look more 'movie'-like. Makes a big difference.

I think it’s great until the dumb illogical decisions towards the end. Like why would 007 continue shooting at the dude’s shield when his entire lower half is exposed? Just makes goes against his character and makes him look very incompetent.
Its a fun 80s movie but some of the stuff is quite goofy even for bond
I agree. License to Kill would be in my top 10 for sure.
Just watch a similar video that had LtK on no. 1
Agree. Dalton isnt my favourite bond but i think its an awesome movie. And davi is a top 5 villain
I still think you would’ve made more friends ranking religions. 😂
And a considerably easier task.
Hilarious

David you and calvin are right the beauty of different opinions...is what makes us the bond fans interesting
Nice to see a list that doesn't look like it was put together using Rotten Tomatoes scores. Great ranking David, the love for Brosnan is much needed.
I always say this to myself. Nice to see a mutual comment about it.

2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. The Living Daylights
4, Casino Royale
5. Goldeneye

“A View To A Kill” was my first Bond film. I was 13 years old. I enjoyed the film and still do. “Octopussy” is one of my favorites as well and I thought one of Moores best. I liked “License to Kill” better then “The Living Daylights”.
Great take

Goldfinger at 18?
Em, methinks David the Host is biased toward Craig. Casino Royale was very good, but it's not #1. Eva Green waa great. Mads Mikkelsen was great. No.
How am I just discovering this channel?!?!?
Brilliant!!!
Finally some love for Tomorrow Never Dies! The community always seems to say it’s vanilla, but it scratches ALL of my bond itches.
I love it too. The subject matter was pretty ahead of its time.
10: Licence to Kill

The Spy who Love me and For Your Eyes Only are best Moore films and should be in top 10.
Loved the stream David! Thanks again for such great interaction, can’t wait for your next stream (and the next book review!)
That was fun. Thanks for mentioning my name. Cheers from Boston MA.
I love Boston. M.
Can’t be bothered ranking all of them but my top ten is roughly:
1. Thunderball
2. From Russia With Love
3. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
4. The Spy Who Loved Me
5. The Living Daylights/ Goldeneye
6. Casino Royale
7. Goldfinger
8. You Only Live Twice
9. Octopussy
10. Dr No
Honourable mentions: Live And Let Die, For Your Eyes Only & Licence To Kill.
Bond movies are like Bowie albums... the fan favs are all over the place.
Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Low, Lodger, Scary Monsters.
;-)
From Russia With Love and Goldfinger > Thunderball
Thunderball is suburb. Always felt it was the quintessential Bond film and it’ll always be one of my favourites.
How is it the most important? OHMSS is.

I enjoyed all of the Bond films, including Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough.

I enjoyed this countdown very much, especially since you ranked Quantum Of Solace so high.
What made you enjoy it?
@@codpro627 the opening scene and the outfits
Quantum just such choppy editing, ugh, that car chase, hotel fight scene, white, horse race scene so choppy, have to watch in slow motion. Quantum and Spectre I can’t sit through.
I love Quantum
Its an art-house film experiment. I like the cinematography, the performances, and music. Yes, the editing is too quick, but I think its a solid continuation of Casino Royale.
Wish we got to see more of Lazenby and Dalton. OHMSS and License to kill are two of my favourites.
OHMSS is my No1 and Licence to Kill is seriously underrated
@@richardhoulton4016 Licence to Kill is overrated as hell.

From Russia with love is my favorite Connery, and as a high schooler in 85 A View to A Kill almost killed ME! this is the most relaxing ranking i’ve ever seen. i have very different opinions but i completely respect yours

Good take on Quantum David. That movie has grown on me over the years.

Factoring objective movie quality first and fun/cool/guilty pleasure factor second I'd rank them like this. I've only seen No Time to Die once so I find it hard to rank it until I see it again to watch it with a more critical eye.

Is this trolling?
Thunderball was so good that they made it twice, although poorly with ‘Never Say Never Again’. 😂
Here is my list (from the best to the worst):
1. From Russia With Love

Um, did you even watch this video? Golden Gun was ranked behind Living Daylights, not the other way around.

I saw a video from reddit last week, where someone edited clips from LtK to change its colouring to make it look more 'movie'-like. Makes a big difference.
It's great we all have such different opinions on what makes a great Bond film. I may have disagreed with many of your choices, but I respect your reasonings.

I gotta admit the more I watch or just think of The Living daylights the more I like it same goes for Timothy Dalton as Bond.
I think it’s great until the dumb illogical decisions towards the end. Like why would 007 continue shooting at the dude’s shield when his entire lower half is exposed? Just makes goes against his character and makes him look very incompetent.
TWINE was my first Bond movie but Brosnan’s video games got me into James Bond.
Licence To Kill is my third favourite Bond film 😕
The Spy Who Loved Me is my #1 😫
I’ll have to watch casino again but think of my dad goldfinger would be in top 5. Great job awesome video
