  • COB LEDs with a Bowens Mount are just better. Being able to modify the light they way you are use to makes for a much better experience than other square-round proprietary units can offer. Even these small (really small and well built) Colbor 65w bi-color lights have enough power for a photo shoot like the one here.

I added the light under my favorite equipment link (under lighting) below. And I did find the Fresnel unit (it’s inexpensive too) it’s also under lighting.

J'adore le style de ses photos là, et l'éclairage avec les effets de couleurs. Très beau modèle en passant. Bonne journée et à la prochaine.

The Fresnel looks like a Nanguang NG-10X

That’s it! I put another (renamed/same unit) under favorite gear/lighting.

Keep pumping these vid's out John - I'm learning so much? Just one thing, have you ever tried or used the little 'Manfrotto Lumimuse 3'. It looks like a joke and even here in Australia where (our dreadful exchange rate and high taxes), all things photographic cost an arm and a leg, it wasn't very expensive. It is a tiny little constant LED light that sits on the hot-shoe of any camera (it' a cold-shoe actually). It has three settings and is really fantastic just to throw in a tiny bit of constant fill when you are outside, or in harsh light, or even if you only want to fill one side of the face, you can just hold it out at arm's length and shoot off camera. It has a chargeable battery inside that is charged by USB. I love this thing. When I do events and because of the constant sunny days and bright light here in Perth, I alway use my Godox V1 for HSS, daylight balanced TTL fill flash. However, if I can't be bothered setting all of that up, I can just carry around this tiny little LED light in one hand (or mount on camera), and I'm good to go.

I have not tried that. I do have a few small panels but always go to flash in most cases. Love the power of flash.

Enjoyed this session for the product awareness and also the lighting techniques - I have a oouple of similar 60W cob llights - rather underpowered and overly heavy - also have a fresnel lens also big heavy and combination of the two is a bit much and just wants to fall over - These smaller cobs and small fresnel would be a good option if I decide to update those !

I’m using them a lot more then usual thanks to the size and weight.

@@kaskoPhoto I had Aputure Amaran 60D in my Amazon basket a while - nice and compact too but they gone up in price to £182 and theColbor is now £139. Do you find models prefer flash as avoids constant harsh light glare and having to blackout the room? Even actors I get coming in for shoots despite their being used to glaring constant lights seem to prefer flash - i like working with both

Hi! Thank you for the first LED I will be keeping up in the studio! Seriously a great little light that actually just works the way it should. I had the opportunity to use them on a commercial look-book shoot as modeling lights and the team loved them as well.

nice video and great photos. I didn't have good luck with mine. It blew up out of the box. Sent it back and it got lost in the mail. No refund, no replacement.
