There's a lady on another channel who whispers and sets off my misophonia in the worst way. Sophie never triggers it.
Why does that happen?
Sound is such a tricky thing to control, especially when you are talking about digitally recorded audio. But the gist of it this: Misophonia is a reaction to a specific tone or frequency (a tone is a sound containing multiple frequencies that resonate), or perhaps to pitch. On the simplest level, it could just be that her pitch and tone resonate well with your misophonia, whereas the other person's voice doesn't.
But the more likely option has to do with the equipment itself being used to record and edit the audio, plus the skills of those editing the content. Microphones are built to detect a specific range of frequencies, and the better the microphone being used, the better the range you can record. Sometimes, ASMRists with less that adequate microphones attempt to bolster the audio they record, and as a result the frequencies get altered digitally, creating bad resonance, which can EASILY trigger misophonia.
TL:DR - Who knows, but it probably comes down to equipment and skill, of which it seems Sophie has both in spades.
Out of curiosity, which ASMRist triggers your misophonia? I don't have misophonia myself, but I do find that there are many ASMRists whose audio doesn't trigger my Meridian Response, because their audio just doesn't sound right.

This really is relaxing. And, Noushka is beaufitul. Her eyes rival yours, and really seem to look like a galaxy or a night sky, if I may say. She is a literal fluff-ball. And, a natural ASMR machine, the fact that she purrs instantly, on picked up shows how much she enjoys it and how much she loves you. And did I mention she a fluff-ball. As a cat-lover, I must say I would rather be seeing more of Noushka than Sophie. Yes. That's right. The old Sophie is gone, cause there's a new "Sophie" in town, and she ready to rumble. We should call this "Sensory by Noushka" now. 😂In other words, give me more cat. 😁
