In the mid-2010s, the Disney Store collaborated with a handful of artists to create special designs for the main characters, such as Lightning McQueen, Mater, Fillmore, Ramone, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell. Chip Foose's participation in the Artist Collection led to patriotic red, white and blue paint jobs for McQueen, Mater and Fillmore in 1/43 scale and an additional limited edition 1/18 scale version of McQueen. Shane Cooper tried his hand at translating the 1/18 scale version's design to a 1/55 scale Mattel mold, while adding his own twist to it.

If one day i contact Shane Cooper, i will ask him to make several customs, like Lightning McQueen's paint jobs from Cars 1 the video game, and even make a custom of Fernando Alonso, which is the racer that replaces Jeff Gorvette in the Spanish (from Spain) version of Cars 2, speaking of Fernando Alonso, i'm so jealous to see that Mattel never released Fernando Alonso due to the real life Fernando Alonso's license and copyright issues, same thing with Mater Private Eye's diecast, i'm so jealous that Mattel never released any diecast from Mater Private Eye, i'm so jealous of Mattel because of that
