Thankfully the Judge got this one right. Refusing to take accountability speaks volumes to who Lori is. Never to be free again. Justice served.
Kay spoke the truth. All Lori had to do was hand JJ over to Kay Woodcock. But she killed those kids out of spite.
Kay hit the nail on the head when she described Chad Daybell!
You see they got her chair slumped…I’m sure she did that. I wonder how long till she is sent to reception into corrections.
All I can say is wow! To express her pain, outrage, anger in such a powerful impact statement while hammering home the dichotomy of life pre Chad..and the forgiveness and finally the numbers used to illustrate how each action. I cried so hard and felt every emotion. I eagerly await Daybell's trial and pray the DP is applied. May God bless the Vallows, Ryan's( I think she helped his death along) and Tammy's children, family and friends. Kay and Mr Woodcock are class acts..unlike Lori!

I listened live, on the day of the trial but the day was so overwhelming that I could not fully comprehend the full extent of the pain Lori inflicted on Kay and Larry. I am so glad this is available to listen to over and over again. In memory of Charles, Kay, you hit it out of the park.
One thing that became clear at trial, she and her husband saved no telling how many lives.
I can feel the total broken hearts of Kay and Larry. Im so sorry for them and everyone for thier unimaginable pain. God bless each and everyone who have such a great loss.🙏🙏🩷💙
The fact that Lori showed no reaction during the impact statement says a lot. No crying, no remorse, nothing. It's either she has no regret of her actions whatsoever or she's mentally in a different world. Or both.
Wow awesome. Unbelievable. Fantastic good for her. I couldn’t have done it and Kay did a great wonderful job. I cried along with her. I hope these wonderful people can get to put these precious children to rest finally and give them the love and respect they so deserve. My deepest condolences to the woodcocks, the brother left behind and to Chad daybells family esp the children of Tammy’s. My blessings and love to you all. From Vancouver island bc Canada. 5:30 Hey if your Lori's Lawyer point out to here in next trial what DISGUST the JUDGE (the one who determines her sentence) has for Lori as he watches her act like a jerk and ignore Kay and show no sympathy. Why doesn't she just plead guilty? Chad should throw her under the bus and SHOW SUCH REMORSE JUST TO GET BACK AT HER.
I think Chad will remain silent like Lori has through the proceedings.
I absolutely love Kay and Larry Woodcock. They're some of the best grandparents I've ever seen. They've given more love and support to Joshua than most new parents have. J. J. Would have been happy in their care forever and it's a shame that cannot happen now. How dare Lori, Alex and Chad think they have the power to take lives!? Karma is real and they're all 3 getting a good dose of it. Death, jail and prison...alone. Lori is one of the most vile human beings out there.

Bless her heart, but Kay’s statement was just a little too heavy on the praises of Lori before she met Chad, in my opinion. By the time Charles and Lori adopted JJ, she had already killed (most likely) her previous husband Joe Ryan. She was as evil and manipulative as they come and had everyone fooled for a long time. She was not the person Kay portrayed or thought, at the time. No one becomes as sick as Lori overnight, just from meeting a new man.
Lori has been twisted and extremely manipulative and attention seeking for a very long time.
Aside from that, Kay’s statement was very quite touching and emotional.
Gave me chills. The judge should have let her speak and continue about her brother, apparently he's a narcisist too with that smug look on his face. Of course, the real victims here are the children. But even though their short lives were brutally cut short, I do believe they are in Heaven, which is some consolation. I can't imagine what the grandparents are going through, I pray that God will provide them comfort and peace.
The brother who aided Lori in murdering Charles Vallow, JJ, Tylee, Tammy Daybell, and probably Joe Ryan is deceased; his name was Alex Cox. Her surviving brother, Adam Cox, was an advocate for and friend to Charles Vallow--and tried multiple times to convince the police in Phoenix that Lori, Chad, and Alex were involved in his death. He worked tirelessly to convince his parents and sister that Lori was twisted and involved in an evil cult--but those family members were in denial. Adam and his son, Zach, tried to find JJ and Tylee--through contact with police in Hawaii, Arizona, and Idaho and personal searches. Adam and his Uncle Rex Conner (brother of Lori's mother, Janice) have tried to support others directly affected by this heinous, drawn-out nightmare, those who followed the details of the missing and murdered children out of horror, and those who were fans of Chad's books and/or participated in the cult by interviews on TV and podcasts. With the help of a forensic psychologist, Adam and Rex have written a book and currently host a podcast to reinforce the guilt of Lori and Chad--and clarify that their actions/words have NOTHING to do with the Mormon Church or Christianity in general. Adam and Rex have taken NO PLEASURE in Lori's actions, have not smiled with smugness, and are NOT mentally ill! Adam and Rex attended Lori's trial and sentencing to support their children who had been close to Lori and to each other, and were struggling to accept the deaths of Tylee and JJ--and Lori's evil actions. They also attended portions of the trial and sentencing to demonstrate to Lori and her followers that they do NOT condone her actions--and they do support the judge's sentence.

That was the Coxes that raised Lori and Alex. Someone made a statement that her father felt they were all superior to others, he called it the 95/5%. They were the 5% superior and everyone else was the 95% inferior. Lori took that seriously. I know that they raised 2 murderers. This is their cross to bear shamefully in their older years. Its possible they could face legal issues. Charles Vallow told the Chandler PD that she was dangerous, he was shot by Alex not long after and they mishandled that badly. They need to pay the consequences.
Why weren't they able to have Adam Cox indirectly get that message to Blondezilla, which he COULD HAVE, once Kay found out she was the beneficiary on Charles' life insurance policy: "Give us JJ and YOU GET THE MILLION DOLLARS?!"
What about asking a lawyer to send her a letter via FedEx Overnight mail? One million dollars in return for giving them custody of Kay's grandson!
After all, Kay's son, JJ's father had SEVEN LONG YEARS to GET OFF THE DRUGS, clean up his act and BE A FATHER TO HIS CHILD! "Surely" he was ready, willing and able to do that, once his mother got her grandson back, RIGHT?
Once it was known that JJ was dead, Kay IMMEDIATELY split that million dollars between CHARLES' SURVIVING SONS, since the intent was to have the money be there for JJ. No JJ, meant no "need" for that money, and the RIGHT THING TO DO, would have been to have that money be there for CHARLES' OTHER SONS.
RIGHT? Maybe it's time to state what the REAL TRUTH is........

I'd say Lori was best manipulator. Because Jodi was a young insecure female who needed to be loved to so babdly she changed her faith, her looks, her lifestyle to try to win him over & she didnt involve others to murder. Lori was very confident in her capabilities & looks. She never changed anything about herself to keep anyone because she loved no one. Men were bank accounts to her. She also used others to do her dirty work. Involving her brother to murder all obstacles in her why. As the investigation showed Lori manipulated law enforcement many times early on. They didnt believe Charles story & his warning that he & the kids were in danger. They believed Lori. When Charles was murdered they even accepted it as accidental originally. It was a long time before law enforcement saw past Lori's manipulating charm.

Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty, but Vallow's attorneys said it should be taken off the table because they won't have time to fully review a large amount of evidence that was turned over in recent weeks.
Seventh District Judge Steven Boyce agreed at a hearing Tuesday. He noted that Vallow hasn't waived her right to a speedy trial, so the proceeding couldn't be rescheduled to give her defense team ample time to review the evidence.
Why give her what she wants? She clearly said that she couldn’t wait to fo to heaven. I think they could cut the costs of keeping her by keeping her in a dark cell and only give her one meal a day.
The cost of a prisoner in the general population of the Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC) is currently $74.34 per day. ($27,134.10 annually.) Prisoners who are employed in the prison have 35% of their wages garnished to defray costs. Prisoners on death row are more costly ($36,500 anually) because they are housed on death row/solitary confinement for the duration of their time until the death penalty is overturned or implemented.
There is a lengthy and VERY expensive appeal process that occurs before the sentence is finalized--at an average cost of $6 MILLION. There are currently 2,343 inmates in the US who are on death row--8 of them in Idaho. The last execution in Idaho occurred in 2012. The prisoner currently on death row for the longest time in Idaho has been there 40 years, and the average length of time is 24 years. The cost of the drugs for execution by IV injection is VERY expensive, there are very few manufacturers, and it is difficult to find a physician willing to administer the drug(s) as it violates their Hippocratic oath, and not all states would protect their license if they do so. While death by firing squad was approved in Idaho as of 1-1-2023, a facility to accommodate the viewers and required witnesses must be constructed, at a cost of about $750,000. If Lori lived in the general population for 30 years (she is now 50 yo) the cost would be about $814,000--considerably less than the average cost to complete the appeals process and solitary confinement for death penalty cases.
Qualitative research studies of the friends/family members of the victims of prisoners receiving a sentence of life without parole vs. the death penalty have revealed that the friends/family members prefer a sentence of life without parole. Those individuals are able to begin the grieving process for their loved one at the conclusion of the trial and sentencing process, and develop beneficial coping skills more readily, putting the process behind them and moving on in life. Even though their loved one is gone and the trial/sentencing was an emotional challenge, they have some finite closure. The Appeals Process for Death Penalty cases may take years, with no calendar of hearings or when the loved one may again be called to testify or give an impact statement; each of those events brings back painful memories and restarts the grieving process. They have no opportunity to experience finite closure, and the appeals process may take decades. I have never had a loved one or friend murdered, but I would want the best situation for the mental health and time-wise for the survivors of murder victims. I would also like the punishment of the convicted murderer to last a long, slow time--possibly with a horrible job like cleaning toilets, scrubbing pots and pans in the kitchen, or working in the prison laundry--all without air conditioning! In state and federal prisons, all able-bodied minimum, medium, or maximum security inmates are required to work. The pay depends on the job, but the pay range for state prisons is 10 to 65 cents per hour, on average 25 cents per hour. In federal prisons the pay scale is 12 to 40 cents per hour, again averaging 25 cents.

Not doing so is a violation of human rights--and not acceptable in a democracy where the government adheres to the Declarartion of Human Rights, passed by the United Nations in December, 1990. Prisoners must follow the rules of conduct and incarceration at their facility. However, they are not to be beaten, sexually assaulted, starved, required to work in unsafe situations or beyond reasonable work hours, etc. It is hard to feel any compassion for a murderer, but if the prison staff intentionally harm the inmates, they have lost reliability and credibility--they have stooped to the level of the murderer.
