Don't think anybody will read this but, I'm a veteran player that tried returning to DF this season (literally have the game open rn) and after watching this video I'm still lost. There are over 6 currencies to interact with, several different types of gear sets, I mean it is just so much unnecessary stuff... I just want to log in, look where I need to go to get good gear and start playing. To me it's like before you had 3 paths to upgrade, m+, raid and/or pvp, you chose one and just go farm it. Now I feel like I need to research wowhead to figure out how each thing relate to what, get a job inside the game for a month in order to make my character eligible for any content outside of random group content. All of that just to feel 'strong' for a couple months and poof, new patch day, back to being shit again. Not saying anything about the video, it's actually pretty good. I just wished this game was simpler to hop in, and that it respected my time playing.
@@CrizFN Not a terrible expansion, but yeah, there's too much bloat. Awakened making past raid sets "optionable" again with increased iLvL is stupid. As a returning player (been playing since launch day of BC) it's just way too much to have to juggle. The PvP and Raid content is okay, but if the devs really want us to do all of this I wish there was an in-game guide to bluntly explain it.
I’m in the same boat, I played seriously since late tbc, but now have been dropping in and out since Shadowlands, and I’m barely managing to get my head around all the new gear/upgrading systems. Coming in as a new player would be a complete nightmare. The current gearing tracks (not to mention addons and weakauras) are a complete detriment to encouraging new players to the game and have a growing, healthy community. The whole system is just to much for most to pick up and progress at an even causal level without some previous experience (or help from someone who has). Having to do a few hours research is not a great incentive to pick up a game again for even returning players.
100% agree every time I think about getting back into DF after taking a break after s1 I get so overwhelmed with all this gearing stuff. Hopefully they change this next xpac.
Hello friends. Today i did some gearing up from a 412 Ilvl character from season 1. I did some heroics, pvp quest and even a mythic 0 and got 2x 493 pieces. Then filled out the rest with pvp vendor gear to get 463 for lfr queue. Now I am 470
When doing community feast, there is also a little npc offering a quest for doing 5 feast activities, that also drops veteran track gear. I wonder if there are similar quests for grand hunt or siege of dragonbane keep. Either way it's another way to get gear besides doing the last hurrah or events themselves
@@WayneWatson1 yes, but I was also able to get a 480 illvl veteran gear from Supply Laden Soup Pot from the tuskarr quest. Don't remember though if it was a second piece of gear from community feast or whether this dropped the cache
The best part of Bullion gear is that you can get the Bullions from LFR, making highest level gear ACTUALLY accessable to us filthy casuals. NGL, this got me to keep my subscription going instead of dumping it till the War Within Prepatch.

@@wowprobeast7543yep I think they should turn bullion and the catalyst in as soon as RWF is over. And just set them with catchup so if the race takes three weeks then you would have three tier charges and be able to catch up to three bullions
You still need to upgrade it with crests from 502 to 528. So you need to do plus 2-4 for wyrms and 6+ for aspects. Even this week's 6s aren't hard so should be stupid easy in a few weeks.
My "Last Hurrah" weekly quest gave me a 350 ilvl staff. I reported this to Blizzard and they told me, that is not a bug, go away. Here's their response:

I played for a few months at the start of the expansion, came back at the start of April. Farmed some crests and flight stones and some gear, logged in this week and crests are gone lol. Obviously because it's a new season but man if you don't keep up with this stuff it's a pain in the ass. I'd no idea about the dates I just log in and arse around for a bit and log out. Easy enough to get back up to speed though thankfully, videos like this are super useful as its a bit of a currency soup right now and gear dropping at all sorts of levels depending on what quests or whatever you decide to do. Really messy systems build up over the course of an expansion and there's no chance blizzard are going to help returning players to understand it lol.
There is a new upgrade NPC right next to the AH in Valdrakken now. Another spot to upgrade that's " quicker" to get to, depending on where you load in. Also a crest vendor next it that you can convert crest from season 3 to season 4 crest, 1:1 conversion.
@@spikefinger both new NPCs are to the right of the AH, one let's you upgrade the new gear with new crest from this season, and the other is a vendor that lets u convert you S3 crest to S4 crest, 1:1 conversion.
always love your geraing guides! very clean and easy to understand. what i would like to see is a guide *for all the different tier sets* and how to get the skins (lfr/normal/heroic/mythic) through open world/raiding/dungeons/currencies and if I have to put them into the catalyst first and then upgrade or the other way around? its all very confusing and convoluted imo. e.g. I never played any normal raids this expansion, but for some classes I have no lfr skins, but normal and heroic tier sets unlocked.
I played with a Kelani way back in the day in a game called Runes of Magic and he had his son playing with him was named zeromalice I believe. Other than now that's the only time I've ever seen that name before. I lost contact with both of them years ago.
Considering that Public events of Dragons isles didnt work at the catalyst for 10.0 We can assume that gear drop by publics events of 10.1 and 10.2 can be catalysted,
The crest weekly cap is just disappointing, it will stall so much gearing progression, I just got to the cap on the second day of the patch and I feel there is not much to do until next week, because to do harder mythic+ dungeons I need more ilvl, but I can't get more ilvl cause I already spent my 120 wyrm crests for the week.
whats stopping u from doing myth+ tho? If you did a world tour of myth 0s you should be able to do low keys at least. The crest cap does suck tho I agree. pretty easy to get to like 490 without even using crests
@SignsofKelani I have found a new issue. If you get a piece of gear and you spend your crests and flightstones to upgrade it like say on the veteran track and then get a piece in the same slot but is champ the crest and stone cost isn't reduced even if the champ piece is starting at a lower ilvl. THIS needs to be fixed ASAP!
Trying to figure out how y’all two-healed Raz at the start of the video with a total of 216k hps between them at the end of the fight haha. I did heroic Raz last night, and we also had 15 people. We 3 healed, had 72% execution rating (obviously could be better but that’s not atrocious), and we did a total of 551k hps (more than double). How did y’all take so much less damage that y’all needed less than half of our hps to kill it lol. Was this like a 99% execution pull or something? Even still I’m amazed it’d cut the needed hps in half
Timewalking this week rewards a 493 item for completing the weekly quest. The Black Temple raid bosses drop high level items and the quest for completing that gave me a 503 item.
As a casual that just wants the shoulder tier transmog colour, what's the best option? Judging by this video, I somehow need to get the reagents and then craft the shoulders that are 506 ilvl and then put it in the catalyst.

@@Amplifymagic you found a different vendor than the bullion ones. there should be a vendor selling the mogs for bullion and not the mark of mastery. The mark of mastery is an item awarded along with a character getting the achievement for either keystone mastery / full clear of heroic raid or pvp rating 1600 (i think, i dont pvp so i could be wrong). You only get one of these per character.

Yes and yes. Everyone started with 0 flightstones and 0 crests once S4 began. You cannot upgrade S3 gear anymore, but S3 gear that could be used in the catalyst to convert to tier gear can still be done and this time they wont consume a charge
what ilvl bracket is unlocking the Heroic recolours of the raid tier set? Can I achieve that by upgrading the gear or do i have to get the right "track" item to earn the heroic recolours by the catalyst?
@@Hepnaje if he means the catalyst, doesn’t that mean now in Season 4 it’s 506+ ilvl that grants you Heroic tier? I can’t imagine getting Season 3 gear now and converting it so easily at that low ilvl now in S4.
The catalyst seems broken atm tbh. I have heroic tier shoulders, cant use them at all to upgrade. My cape is champion and it can be upgraded. Both came from black temple and it pisses me off xD
Hmm I are confused. Unless you meant to put “track” instead of “tier”, you won’t be upgrading that piece of gear at the catalyst any time soon. That catalyst only transforms a piece of gear from non tier to tier, it doesn’t upgrade its item level.
That's a catch-up mechanic. For example: say there are 10 total weeks people can get 1 bullion per week. Everyone gets a total of 10. If you skip 5 weeks, you can collect 5 bullion and catch up, then continue getting 1 per week after. All that changes, if you skip weeks, is the rate you collect. The end total, whatever that ends up being, is the same for everyone.
How the fk do I upgrade items bought with bullion? Its 1/12 or 1/14 and at upgrade vendors where you upgrade every items I cant upgrade this awakened item. Do we have a special vendor for that or what? people running around with 12/12 already, dont know how should I upgrade them.
They made the Catalyst such a pain in the ass man. All i wanted to do is finish my LFR raid set but what tf does it matter when ill have to get lfr awakened gear to begin with. Fuck i hate this game sometimes. Its not like what i needed is even part of the tier set. I just need a cloak and belt ESPECIALLY THE FUCKING CLOAK

Your video is very good, but gearing just seems to complicated. I logged in, and couldnt get into any mythics dungeons because I was so much behind. I can do hc dungeons, but I get one piece every run and I need to wait around for community events, this is just too much to do for little reward
How is it complicated? I went from 441 to 480 in like 2hrs. Literally did the the weekly quest, TW dungeons, and TW raid. 480 is the min to do M0 dungeons.
@@Ralledk you only need crest and flightstones. The game tell you where to get the items. Again if you are below 480ilvl don't try to sniff M0, you will get bombed on. Continue with hc dungeons and use flightstones to up gear your gear. Tbh you are over thinking and being inpatient. You should be 480ilvl in less than 4hrs. After you hit 480 spam M0 Dawn of the Infinite Dragons..... I just gave you the whole path. Now walk.
Can you get 1 bullion from each of the raid difficulties? E.g 1 from LFR, Norm etc. So in a sense you could potentially get 4 from all 4 difficulties? Only reason I ask is a mate said he got one from LFR and Normal. (Not sure I believe him) Or is it just camped 1 per week across all difficulties?
God I can't stand that everything is timelocked. Just let people who wants to grind be able to instead of having to wait a whole god damn week to progress.

It's not even possible to get to 521 even if you played nonstop since release of season 4 because you won't have the currency to upgrade your gear. The people who have 500+ ilvl right now are complete trash players as well because they're forgoing their tier set and losing out on major dps/hps in the process just for some + stats.
God damn this is way too fucking complicated. They need to totally rethink how these gear systems work they should be able to be explained in 2 sentences. "You get gear from doing raids and dungeons" "You get gear from doing PvP events like world pvp, BGs, and arena" Like what the fuck is even happening in this game I have no idea.
Im gonna chill until next content. I dont like spending so muchtime to gear but thats me tbh. I log in for the monthly rewards and log out. Plunderstormnwas fun because of the disconnect from my other characters and rewarded cosmetics
Pausing when you have the currency tab open…no elemental overflow and there’s still 6 different currencies to keep track of. I think that’s such bad design. It’s just so over complicated for no reason other than being over complicated. Especially as someone who is new or returning… why is WoW so obsessed with bloating itself?

Preference. I played male tauren, but it is just too large so switched it to female. There is something about nelf and belf males that I dont like so when I play those races I play female. For orc, before the upright orc I just prefered the posture of female orcs and the same applies to trolls. Humans are pretty cool either way. Dwarf male only, no one wants to be reminded of their Mom in a video game. Goblin is whatever, male is better imo and same for Undead. Draenei is a similar issue as tauren male. Gnome male looks more comical so it is a more popular choice I think. So overall, there is nothing weird about playing female/bodytype 2 characters. It really comes down to how you prefer to play the game, how armor looks on it and as long as it doesnt hinder gameplay, it does not matter what people choose. Also stop implying that this shows some sort of creepiness. It doesnt. If you prefer male characters then that’s good for you. Some might find that choice strange for their own reasons

You get a cache from each event, which gives you a piece of gear, along with the quest in valdrakken

It is not an additional piece of gear for soup, it's just the only one that requires picking up a quest to get the cache

Note you can buy Griftah's All-Purpose Embellishing power if you wish to remove an embelishment off a piece and install it on your new.

With this being a shorter / recap season, it makes little sense to stall crest acquisition to this degree.

mythic 0 seemed to give me a ton of drake crests. I hit cap and only did 5 myth 0 dungeons, no normal raid or world boss(if that gives any?)at all.
World bosses do give drake crests, can't remember if it was 15 or 30 that I got when I did it
Yeah, this week is good for crests with three open world events, each drops crests, I think they were all 15 drake.
Be cool if the vault let you get bullion… maybe 12-18 for a single piece of bullion, but

World Tour, as in all the mythic 0 Dungeons every week will cap you out, or start farming mythic 2s

You probably have a previous quest that you had started. Just abort the previous mission and the new one will show up.
@@warlock3691 Unfortunately, I have no quests with that NPC.. I guess it's because my gear is below "awakened" minimum required - something like 460, while I need 463. Or I need some other quest to be completed before that new one appears

Hey there. Do we loose all our flightstones and crests with this new season 4? Also, are we unable to upgrade gear from season 3? I've been away for awhile
Yes and yes. Everyone started with 0 flightstones and 0 crests once S4 began. You cannot upgrade S3 gear anymore, but S3 gear that could be used in the catalyst to convert to tier gear can still be done and this time they wont consume a charge
what ilvl bracket is unlocking the Heroic recolours of the raid tier set?
Can I achieve that by upgrading the gear or do i have to get the right "track" item to earn the heroic recolours by the catalyst?
You can get an higher ilvl item 480-500 and use the convert to set option next to tyr vault and that will unlock the transmog hc for you.

The catalyst seems broken atm tbh. I have heroic tier shoulders, cant use them at all to upgrade. My cape is champion and it can be upgraded. Both came from black temple and it pisses me off xD
Hmm I are confused. Unless you meant to put “track” instead of “tier”, you won’t be upgrading that piece of gear at the catalyst any time soon. That catalyst only transforms a piece of gear from non tier to tier, it doesn’t upgrade its item level.

black temple timewalking gear is apparently not able to be used in the catalyst. Not sure if bug, seems plenty of people are having this isuse.

Never set a minimum quality level if you know the crafter, they cant claim the order if they use inspiration to proc r5 if you do.
I did all the tw and lfr content... only got trinkets

That's a catch-up mechanic. For example: say there are 10 total weeks people can get 1 bullion per week. Everyone gets a total of 10. If you skip 5 weeks, you can collect 5 bullion and catch up, then continue getting 1 per week after. All that changes, if you skip weeks, is the rate you collect. The end total, whatever that ends up being, is the same for everyone.

Because mythic 2 is after mythic 0, mythic is basicly untimed mythic 1 mythic 2 is timed and higher difficulty
I miss Cata. Dungeon and rep grind. Grind Heroic. Jump directly from heroic dungeon to Normal Raid. Then to Heroic Raid. So much simpler.

Your video is very good, but gearing just seems to complicated. I logged in, and couldnt get into any mythics dungeons because I was so much behind. I can do hc dungeons, but I get one piece every run and I need to wait around for community events, this is just too much to do for little reward
How is it complicated? I went from 441 to 480 in like 2hrs. Literally did the the weekly quest, TW dungeons, and TW raid. 480 is the min to do M0 dungeons.
@@mrmacho41 Well, I might have misunderstood, but to me it seems you need all kinds of flightstones and other tokens to gear up.
@@Ralledk you only need crest and flightstones. The game tell you where to get the items. Again if you are below 480ilvl don't try to sniff M0, you will get bombed on. Continue with hc dungeons and use flightstones to up gear your gear. Tbh you are over thinking and being inpatient. You should be 480ilvl in less than 4hrs. After you hit 480 spam M0 Dawn of the Infinite Dragons..... I just gave you the whole path. Now walk.

Can you get 1 bullion from each of the raid difficulties? E.g 1 from LFR, Norm etc. So in a sense you could potentially get 4 from all 4 difficulties?
Only reason I ask is a mate said he got one from LFR and Normal. (Not sure I believe him)
Or is it just camped 1 per week across all difficulties?

It's not even possible to get to 521 even if you played nonstop since release of season 4 because you won't have the currency to upgrade your gear. The people who have 500+ ilvl right now are complete trash players as well because they're forgoing their tier set and losing out on major dps/hps in the process just for some + stats.
The crest cap each week is just stupid and out of touch
So instead there's no cap, people destroy content then cry in 2 weeks when they have all max ilvl gear?

They need to totally rethink how these gear systems work they should be able to be explained in 2 sentences.
"You get gear from doing raids and dungeons"

Pausing when you have the currency tab open…no elemental overflow and there’s still 6 different currencies to keep track of. I think that’s such bad design. It’s just so over complicated for no reason other than being over complicated. Especially as someone who is new or returning… why is WoW so obsessed with bloating itself?
They added more crests needed to upgrade gear and recycled the Shadowlands Season 4. Theres nothing new. Bruh.

Preference. I played male tauren, but it is just too large so switched it to female.
There is something about nelf and belf males that I dont like so when I play those races I play female. For orc, before the upright orc I just prefered the posture of female orcs and the same applies to trolls.
Humans are pretty cool either way.
Dwarf male only, no one wants to be reminded of their Mom in a video game.
Goblin is whatever, male is better imo and same for Undead.
Draenei is a similar issue as tauren male.
Gnome male looks more comical so it is a more popular choice I think.
So overall, there is nothing weird about playing female/bodytype 2 characters. It really comes down to how you prefer to play the game, how armor looks on it and as long as it doesnt hinder gameplay, it does not matter what people choose.
Also stop implying that this shows some sort of creepiness. It doesnt. If you prefer male characters then that’s good for you. Some might find that choice strange for their own reasons
