Forgot about the most commonly used attribute only tests, Surprise and Defence both of which my default are Reaction + Intuition. Also forgot to mention that Attribute only tests are special because they have no limit.
This is a really good point! I think we were focused only on the attribute-only tests that are listed on your sheet with special names. However, I realize now it might have been better to explain it in a slightly more broad way.
Something I do for my guys is give them a "Common Sense / Idea" LOG + INT roll. This is used when someone doesn't have a Knowledge or Skill, or just when players are kind of stumped or trying to figure something out. I increase thresholds by one, and they can't get anything beyond basic knowledge, but it basically covers what any sensible person, especially Shadowrunners and their specialties, would know.
That's nice of you, but isn't there a common sense quality that would cover that? I mean sure, your game, your rules, but I'd feel kinda robbed if I took it because I'm a new player and I want a rules legal way to get some hints when I am about to do something stupid.
@@Chrinik That's a good point. But still you would sure to not failt that test, unlike them. But honestly, you are still correct in saying so. As a GM, I would give the Common Sense quality a secondary effect. Personally, my first idea would be to add the Common Sense not only with stupid things, but also when an action, normally a legit one, would trigger an Etiquette or Con test.
Nice video! I think the switch to digital has been a really good move; your art already feels like it's improving and you're getting to play around with the drawings a bit more. :D
Thanks! I really loved the look and feel of the paper and markers, but it was so time consuming! Whenever I would make a mistake I would sometimes have to make the mental calculations of whether or not it was worth fixing or if I should just go with it. The digital version gives me much more freedom to get things just right. Also, like you say, I can play with the way I present things a little more.
Memory is Logic + WIll? I would think that would be Logic + Intuition. Int to realize that something about something else (date, symbol, etc.) is important and Logic to recall exactly what.
These are so damn useful, I just got into shadowrun recently and the rulebook can feel like a mountain of text, but these videos are super helpful, and pretty fun to watch too! :D
Yeah but those are very specific and have their specified rules, so there is no confusion about when to use them...this is for cases outside of the norm. You wouldn't use initiative outside of combat and you wouldn't use evasion either nessecarily. And while Memory and Lift and Carry are also described and codified, I think they are meant more as "the most common examples" because you are probably more likely to need to recall or carry something or judge someones intention than you are to, for example, use a strength and willpower check to win an arm wrestleing match...
If you have not rolled a Judge Intentions roll during the time you meet your Mr. Johnson, you've been SRing horribly wrong, bonus points if it was during Missions.
Hi Bobby, what are your thoughts on Luck based tests? Would you use Edge x2? I know Cliff uses a Luck mechanism in his actual play, but I'm not sure what 2 attributes he uses
Mr. Johnson (Cliff) does "Edge Tests" by simply having the players roll their Edge attribute. Not x2. Not with something else. Just a dice pool equal to the Edge attribute. This is a houserule of his and he does it to simply get a feel for how lucky a person is in any given moment. I honestly don't know how he chooses his thresholds for something like that. I also use Edge tests and I'm very very arbitrary about how many hits a person has to get.
So, I have a question of which I couldn't find a clear answer yet, can you just disable WiFi on your Equipment so it can't get hacked anymore and if yes, what penalties do you have for this Equipment?
1:29 *slaps hood of car* This bad boy can hold so many assault cannons.

Great video Bobby!
I hate clowns. But I liked this video.
I think you forgot 1 or 2: initiative and evasion (both Reaction + Intuition)

Hi, can i hope one or more video about secrets of initiates and adept way

Okay, thank you for the quick answer
I liked the clown...muahahahahaaaaaa
Lift/carry is so broken. My superhuman troll can lift less than a human athlete.
No limit on Attribute tests right?
Oh man! You're right! I really should've made sure to put that in there!
