Back in the late 1990s I used to attend Grace Fellowship in Columbia, SC while you, Tuliian, were involved with our fellowship. I remember you and your mom, Gigi, being there on several Sundays. I was new to the South, let alone Columbia, but I had a great experience there. I just want to thank you for your message here and how it caused me and I am sure others to re-evaluate our relationship with Jesus and his love and power in our life. Again, thank you

Thanks Tullian for sharing from your heart. Your message is like a bright light in a dark place. That dark place is my heart and unfortunately so many churches today. Legalism and petty judgement is so disheartening. Reminders of Gods grace and mercy are needed so desperately today. And as I find myself in my 60’s and looking for work having depended on my job all my life to give me credibility and self respected and needing now to find something different I am at a loss. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to pick up your book and give it a read. God bless you!

This is terrible preaching. The grace of God doesn't keep us in our sins. The Grace of God teaches us how to deny ungodliness and worldy lust and how to live soberly righteously and Godly in this present life. Once we are born again we can live holy upright lives for God. Sir if you continue teaching this stuff and believing this stuff like you did before you could very easily lose everything again including your marriage. Repent and believe alone in the Gospel of Jesus Christ before it's everlasting too late.

The Lord sustain you Tullian! For anyone who has failed catastrophically, or looked inside and only heard the rattling of a dead man's bones. To all who have done their utmost to conquer the sin that too easily besets us and found they are lacking the wherewithal or the strength to mount a sustained effort to remove the deep crimson stains that saturate and permeate their human condition, take heart my friend. There is a Way Maker, who ever lives to make intercession for you. Cast all your cares upon Him who is able to save to the uttermost. Take heart my friend, the Lord Himself is your salvation! This is not an excuse to sin, it is a reason to live! He is your life! Run to that Rock! Just saying....

I don't even know you, sir, and I would bet my life on the fact that you have not and never will accomplish the standard you just laid in front of Tulian. Trying is not the standard. Perfection is.

Wow! I really ramble sometimes! What I was really trying to say is your teaching Tullian, as is the comfort of the Holy Spirit, like streams in the desert to those that are thirsty. Sorry you had to go thru what you did. Thank you for the insights that were born out in you during those dark nights!

@@lakeishawalker2252 The Bible tells us very clearly that the Grace of God gives us the power to live a Righteous and Holy life. The Bible tells us to come out from among them and be separated from this world. I understand that we have all sinned in the past yes but Christ is powerful enough to deliver us from our sins and cause us to live even as He has lived. If you don't believe this then you don't believe what the word of God says plain and simple. We are able to be perfect in Christ. This is the message that needs to be preached. Not the message that Christ doesn't satisfy he literally said Christ doesn't satisfy. If Christ doesn't satisfy he has not been regenerated.

Tom, the Bible also clearly tells us that we struggle - and will always struggle - with that process of holiness. Go back and look at what Paul says very clearly in Romans 7: we are not, and will never be a finished product until Jesus comes back. I went back and I listened to that section you referred to in the overall context of what Tullian was saying, and I would encourage you to do the same thing. Tullian is very clearly saying it is not about us, or our growth, or who we are - it is about Jesus and what he has done for us. Yes, there is a process of ongoing sanctification and growth. But one thing I have experienced in a lifetime spent in the church is that it is often portrayed as a work we do to maintain our salvation. Tom, we didn't do anything to earn our salvation in the first place. So why would we think our efforts to be more holy would maintain a salvation that we did nothing to earn? I applaud Tullian for his honesty. I also encourage you to lay down your pharisaical robe and understand that you can't maintain something that you didn't earn to begin with. And if you think your efforts amount to anything worthy to earn or maintain God's grace and mercy towards you, then I would strongly encourage you to go back and read your Bible carefully and prayerfully. 😉
