- Leroy Troy is known as The Sultan of Goodlettsville. His banjo work is the clawhammer or frailing style. He debuted on the Grand Ole Opry in 1988 and was the National Old-Time Banjo Champion in 1996. When not performing solo, Leroy plays with the Tennessee Mafia Jugband and Marty Stuart, appears weekly on The Marty Stuart show on RFD-TV.
This is Leroy's Mel Bay Artist Interview with Erica Cantrell. He also teaches a Mel Bay Pro lick.
