Keep waiting. It's dumb sh.t like that why we are in the mess we're in. There are not enough black voters...the party has to package any benefit intended for black people as a benefit for everyone...or else white people will vote against them and because there are more white than black the party will lose. I can't believe this has to be explained to adults you allow TH-cam sellout and fools try to tell you the party has to put forward a package with black people written on it for black people to benefit. That's dumb. Black people can avoid voting...and the laws will just be passed and put us back to the 1920s.

No they don't they still received 90% of the black vote and lost. You better get involved in your local elections your federal voting power is no longer needed. 200 million whites and 65 million Hispanics your vote is not needed. I see a lot of Black men on social media claiming they put TRUMP in the Whitehouse that's wrong. The Hispanic men are the voting stars this election. And REPARATIONS is never going to happen now, this election Trump said no REPARATIONS and he won the next candidate will do the same.

There is no need to repeal the 13th amendment because, according to the 13th amendment slavery never ended and was reinstituted through biden/clinton's "new jim crow" crimes bills. Moreover, there are plenty of new, willing slaves given the democrats open borders policies.

Very informative, but there are some factors you excluded: The Progressive faction of the Republican Party maintained their forward-thinking agenda (including Civil Rights, labor rights, women's rights, prison reform, immigrant rights, wilderness conservation, and other progressive movements) clashing more and more with the Industrialist faction (libertarians with a lower-case "L") through the end of the 19th century into the beginning of the 20th century. Theodore Roosevelt pulled the Progressive faction out of the Republican Party in 1912 to form the Progressive Party. Splitting the Republican Party lead to the election of the Democrat Woodrow Wilson that same year. The Progressive Party was unable to win any elections, and by the time of the Great Depression, those Progressives (including Franklin Roosevelt) had infiltrated the Democratic Party in the north.
Meanwhile, the Industrialists remained in control of the Republican Party as a libertarian-leaning party until Barry Goldwater executed the _first_ "Southern Strategy" in 1964. Barry Goldwater, the leader of the Republican Party, objected to the third Civil Rights Act of 1964. Goldwater was not himself a segregationist. He had supported the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1960, which had provided more voting rights for black people. He had also strongly supported desegregating the federal government and was largely responsible for measures that, among other things, put women like Dorothy Johnson into NASA. He had also desegregated his family business. Goldwater was, however, true to his libertarian cause and totally opposed to laws that either required segregation or prohibited segregation in private business, and so he opposed the comprehensive Civil Rights Act of 1964. Goldwater in that presidential election chose to climb into bed with southern Democrats ("Dixiecrats") who, of course, also opposed the Civil Rights Act.
Even though the Republican Party did cater to the Dixiecrats, particularly under Reagan (hence, what the media called at the time the "Regan Democrats"), those Dixiecrats were people old enough to have personally known old Confederates. They might support Reagan's policies, but they'd rather die than actually register into the "Party of Lincoln." So...going into the 90s, those old Dixiecrats _did_ die. And their children registered as Republicans.

Funny how you omitted the fact a handful of Dixie switched to Republicans. And Goldwater as you stated opposed Civil Rights Act bc of Affirmative Action, not bc of the whole itself NOT bc he aligned himself with the racist Democrats of the south.
And no, all the racist Dems remained in the Democratic Party - their strategy of undermining a race just changed from overt to subversive negative underpinnings.

  • @hardieharrharr

This election for me further solidified two things.
1: The solidarity of the Republican party. No matter who the candidate is they will vote red, always. Democrats are never this way, some will always vote for an independent if they don't like who's in front.
2: No matter how many of US there are in the US, we will still be a minority.

Black people have little choice in today's narrowed political path but regardless of the Republican Party history, I would never vote for a party that currently chooses to ban books that teach true black history nor one that votes to include standards that teach my children or grandchildren that black people benefitted from slavery. Buyers remorse is real and I have not doubt that those that voted for this current administration will experience it sooner than later.

This was excellent. But unfortunately, most US citizens read and comprehend at a middle-school level. And the hyper-individualism destroys any consideration of collectiveness. I always said, the U.S. will need to crack and divide again and really go through. ITTTTTTTT. for the majority of US Citizens to learn valuable lessons that other countries have learned (i.e. Germany, or any other country that has rebounded from a dictatorship). I'm trying to remain positive as the poll results roll in, but it may be time for the U.S. to FA and FO....and rebuild after things are burnt to the ground figuratively and literally.
