So before I do the videos I'm basically winding up having to re-read the chapters. Which is great and very valuable for me, the whole process is basically. Making videos really reinforces the material. But it does make it sort of cumbersome. I really need to be faster.
I see a return of magnetism with newer forms of therapy like somatic experiencing and EMDR. Therapists like Bessel Van Der Kolk and Peter Levine locating psychological traumas in the body are perhaps confirming Mesmer's intuitions. I found it interesting that Benjamin Franklin's investigation of Mesmerism was the first placebo controlled blind trial. Yet, all the commission proved was that participants had to believe in process for it to work. Bingo!
