- ActiveTwo is highly resistant to picking up electromagnetic interference, due to several important design features. However, the reality is that there IS going to be electromagnetic interference in the recording environment, and you need to be prepared to do the best possible job arranging the participant, the ActiveTwo cables AND known noise sources in the environment to make recordings with the best possible signal quality. This video illustrates how to use the two-bucket test to simulate resistance at the scalp and the effect that has on susceptibility to noise pickup. Note that the noise pickup from the motorized fan illustrated in this video would be the same with ANY EEG recording system. Also note that we are showing un-referenced and unfiltered signals, so the ultimate impact of the noise on the final signal will be much less with ActiveTwo. However, that is NOT the point of this video. The point is to arm the viewer with an understanding of the different modes of interference pickup and ways of dealing with them.
