Slaughterspines literally took my favorite machine spot from the thunderjaw the moment I first fought it An apex predator based machine, deadly plasma based armaments, acoustic weaponry, adaptive capabilities, high durability, fast mobility, and a highly aggressive ai It was everything I could ask for Edit: I forgot to mention, A LITERAL KILLER BATTLE SONG ( also love your content man, cheers!)
In Zero Dawn my favorite machine have been the Thunderbird. This bird always brought me issues and such a pain to fight 🤣 but this Apex Slaughterspine… Fk this machine I’m scared 😭💀
Love how the soundtrack for this beast builds and builds as it charges up, making it clear you're in for a world of hurt. Good show though, especially against this thing that seemed to have the same amount of HP as an RPG super boss.
That ending where the weapon kept firing those Plasma beams while the Slaughterspine died reminded me of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, when Wolverine cuts off Weapon XI's head and it keeps shooting Cyclops eye beam as it rotates and falls down the reactor's structure. Absolutely Epic.
What you think is the most dangerous or scariest attack the slaughterspine has, personally for scariest it the mouth beam easy to dodge but getting hit equals death generally speaking.
maybe that was what one shotted me then even with max level armor and only normal not apex still very hard though.thought I had him almost dead then 1 shotted from full life^^
A buddy of mine was showing me this game a few days ago and we were just chilling and killing some watchers that we found in an area that was old overgrown cities. Then as he was fighting the group of watchers we suddenly realized that the music got really intense all of a sudden. Then we see the purple laser shoot across the screen. He looks up and there's a slaughter spine charging up a mouth lazer. We both at the same time shouted WHAT THE FUCK?!? As soon as we saw it. And he noped the hell out of there

dang. aside from the one in the story quest, I've never beaten an Apex Slaughterspine without the help of my mount a so many explosive spikes. this fight was amazing! and your aim is impeccable
At least you could tear off the Thunderjaw’s cannons and use it against them or blow up the belly sac of the Fireclaw. This thing has almost no weak spots, it is a beast
I don’t know what wrong with my death-seekers shadow hunter bow, it doesn’t overdraw... does it overdraw after an upgrade or what? If someone know pls let me know as this also happens with some of my other weapon like the skykiller.
I am partial to ending fights with Slaughterspines ASAP by using multiple OP weapons. But this is fun to watch...takes us back to the days of HZD when well-placed arrows (and occasional traps) were how we got it done.
Slaughter spine has the single most awesome machine theme song in Forbidden west, and you cant change my mind. (i call this the slaughter spine theme because it always plays every single time you fight a slaughter spine, iv never had any other theme play other than this one when fighting this machine)
Which 5 mods did you have on btw? I play in a similar fashion, mostly using Hunter Bows to tear off weak components while exploiting elemental cannisters.
Hi guys i have a little problem with Horizon, it happens sometimes that i leave the shopkeeper or my menu and it freezes my game on black screen and i must restart Horizon. Someone know how to fix this? I play on ps5 disc game
The first time I saw a slaughters pine on landfall I was like "wtf? I'm not fighting that thing for now" I played on hard. Currently I have only hunting grounds to complete and those strike games.
Also why you have to tortured yourself to use regular hunter arrow that thing is too weak to be considered to fight against that monster especially on very hard

I swear with the color scheme and the beam attacks from the back and tail, you’d think they probably took inspiration from Shin Godzilla.

The tail has two lazer cannons, that can be detached and used against it. But it is definitely a beast, your right there lol

For me slaughterspine was the hardest machine to fight. The charging may take long but the health Is insane you need like good bows to finish him
