This is pure intelligent discussion. The chap who spoke first really spoke logic. I am an engineer with a very well run group. The missing part of Ghana's issues is purely lack of common sense. These thieves are telling us sending gas from Atuabo in the Western Region to Oforikrom in Ashanti Region makes sense. They have realised their followers are stupid. Why not enhance the power cables from the same place it originally was and install new units with the rest of the many millions of dollars. These government is packed with thieves. They have embezzled the funds.

Each of these unit is about $14.5 million dollars (depending on capacity and combustion capabilities). We could have added new units for prosperity and reliable maintenance schedule if also building or adding more power plants is what NPP want as a governmen. I am into power generation here in the states, and having redundancy in the power industry is very important. Relocation of existing power plants is an unnecessary idea and waste our resources. The power plant l work for (1600MW combine Cycle) get our fuel from Morocco on a 3 yr contract and you can't wait till fuel supply contract runs out before you sign one. NPP as a government can do better. God bless our homeland Ghana!!! Untill we find a sustained power generation as a country, life and industry is dead.

To think of the fact that this same people from the ministry of energy especially Mr. Hanson Monney went to Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit in Lagos, Nigeria in September last year and told the whole world that Ghana will soon be supplying electricity to Nigeria is height of hypocrisy!

Dumsor is a game politicians play and fellow Ghanaians suffer for it
Honestly show me one thing these politicians have touched that worked
They should play their politics and allow competent knowledgeable intelligent honest Ghanaians run our country
If not we fellow Ghanaians would join them in their politics and it would not end well
We are just tired of all these nonsense and this is for our children who have nowhere but Ghana we have tolerated them for far too long and their days are numbered they either join us build this nation or they go back to where they came from
Just small power sector with even high tarrif we making losses the power sector is a mafia game with Ghanaians as pawns
Ecg gridco etc is over staffed inefficiency is not just in transmission but also in human resources and how can ecg use igf for ...... when you owe your suppliers it's funny
The incompetent one had dumsor which was a generation problem now we have excess capacity and we still have dumsor what do we call those in charge ..............
Stop shitting in your pants and taking a swap with your fingers to smell what it is HAVE SOME DIGNITY

So why didn't they use the money to buy solar or build something to produce more energy. What a waste of money.

JDM brought in karpower, Ameri and Tico, including Atuabu Gas Company. What's the score card by the NPP under Nana and Bawumia about the energy sector? What have they bought to increase the capacity of power generation? Today the Ameri has been taken to kumasi

How do you add a MW to the grid without a new acquisition of power units or plants? If you increase MW using existing units, it's means you are increasing WM based on demand, and that can not be considered as increasing MW capacity. Without redundancy, you can not demand!!!!!.
