Wasn't sure where the roof was going but you really cleaned it up with the paint. Great suggestion on just using marine fixes for everything. Glad that you recovered from Covid, hopefully everyone stays well down there.

Recently obtained one of these Dolphin's, currently in the mechanics shop getting work done on the engine and other mechanical parts there, and been looking at the possibilities for gutting it. Your videos have been helpful in deciding the route I want to take. Not hard to gut it, but getting it structurally sound definately takes some time, especially for somebody not in that business. Looking forward to see how your finishes up for solar and everything else you are putting into it. Keep up the good work!
So it looks like if my brother makes it up next week we are starting a rebuild of our 1987 Savannah TravelMaster. Is that 1" steel tubing you used for the roof? 10 feet long? Terri is going to video the process. Thanks for the great videos. Maybe I can pick your brains if we get into a tight corner!
I did use steel - EVERYONE else (and their right) recommends aluminum. Those sticks were maybe 20’ and I cut them down. It’s the thickness of the tube that makes them strong so something that won’t bow if you’ve got an AC bouncing on the roof. (1/8”? Can’t remember - just see what they have at your source and use your best judgement balancing strength with weight). Keeps us posted!

I have a ‘89 Toyota Dolphin I am in the process of figuring out how to renovate. Could you please tell me what size metal you used for your sagging roof? Do you need welding skills to do what you have done? Thank you, Nancy
If you don't have welding skills there are other ways to resolve the roof sag. Some have put the cross bracing on TOP of the RV and then bolted/screwed up and into it to pull the roof up. I used 1"x1" steel square tube. It's advisable to use aluminum rather than steel for weight and corrosion consideration.
Others on here can hopefully comment on mechanics such as swapping gears and other mods - that’s not my area of expertise so, besides being comfortable in the slow lane, doing 50 to 55mph, not using the overdrive, and ducking when you exit (if you’ve hit your head on the over-cab you know what I mean), I only know enough to recommend the basics: watch the temp gauge, check those fluids, get a decent roadside assistance plan, consider a transmission gauge, and remember the journey IS the destination.
If you grab Sunrader ..... pretty easier to build..... compare to dolphin structural issue....i did once but not really worth after complete redone compare to Toyota Sunrader

I noticed you have a hood wind deflector. Is that just for protection or does it improve aerodynamics/mpg?
