    This is the cleanest and the most clear video I ever watched about adding image to SharePoint and it is fully working. KUDOS!!!!
    Can you also please create a video tutorial how to insert a camera control if I have a canvass app that asks for name, bday, a dropdown list of option, comments? I want to include the person's image who I want to interview. Please please?

    Great Job on creating the video, Not like other that keep blabbing away with out any substance. Some of those so call content creator for power apps just keep frustrating me lot of BS before they give you a tidbit. Thanks god for GPT chat and those pleople like you that create videos that get to the button line in a short period of time. THANKS !

    Nice video John! Why do we have to includeBinaryData in our JSON function. I'm referring to the setting of the variable ImagesToJSON at about 9:30 in the video. It was my understanding that PowerApps stores all images as dataURI's encoded in Base 64 (see 3rd paragraph in this Microsoft article: flow.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/howto-upload-return-file/).

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this is true. PowerApps encodes media in a dataURI, hence why you need to use the dataUriToBinary function in Flow.
      I think this is a case of poor naming. They should have probably used IncludeMediaData and IgnoreMediaData.
      If you don't use IncludeBinaryData in the JSON function the resulting JSON won't include the image data.

      To be honest, I had never heard of SharePoint until last year.
      I suppose since it's a business product, unless you're working at a business that uses it, then it's not something you're going to use.

    Hi John, sorry if this question was asked already by more experienced users here. I am trying to do this for a building inspection App. How to bring images back to view that were taken for a particular (e.g. building ID) to see at a later time? Thanks in advance John.

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can save them to a collection along with the building ID.

    Great video!!! I have an issue though, I created the flow exactly as you did but when I try to run it on PowerApps, the formula is asking me for two variables or arguments instead of just the ParseJSON, it also asks for "Createfile_Folderpath". Do you know why does that happen or what should go in that space? Thanks!

    The best video that I have seen to save a photo collection from Powerapps, I´m in the last part of the video and when I merged the two buttons , I got Set(ImagesToJSON;JSON(MyPicture;JSONFormat.IncludeBinaryData));FotosInsp.Run(ImagesToJSON) however powerapps is displaying a message that an not allowed character is being used in the formula Could you help me to solve this error Thanks

      You have some semicolons where there should be commas.

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only comma should be between the set function and run function, the rest are commas.

      I feel you miss a semicolon just before FotosInsp... ==> Set(ImagesToJSON;JSON(MyPicture;JSONFormat.IncludeBinaryData));;FotosInsp.Run(ImagesToJSON)

    John, The flow works fine, the image files cannot be opened later. What format is it in?

      Interesting. I'll check it out and let you know. To be honest, I only viewed the picture preview in SharePoint and that worked fine.

    • @HowToExcelBlog

      They were saved as jpeg files.

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tested my flow out, and was able to download and open the images.
      Make sure you are adding the .jpg extension to the name of the file when creating it. That's the only thing I can think of that might be going wrong for you.

    Hello John, can you give me a little help?
    I'm using this formula in the Flow, "dataUriToBinary(items('Apply_to_each')['image'])", and the Flow said 'Could not validate template: 'Repeat actions' Apply_to_each 'referenced by' inputs 'in action' Create_file 'are not defined in template.' Do you know how to solve this?

      Did you rename the apply to each step? You need to use that name instead.

    I have followed same steps as in the tutorial.
    I am getting error when saving the flow, flow save failed with code "InvalidTemplate", The template validation failed: 'The repetition action(s) 'Apply_to__each' referenced by 'inputs' in action 'Create_file' are not defined in the template.'.
    Can someone assist me please ?

    • @HowToExcelBlog

      Looks like there are two underscore characters in Apply_to__each. Is that the issue? Try renaming the apply to each step to have an extra space, or remove the extra underscore in expressions.
