The first track is the greatest thing from the 2000's I have ever heard. It became my "you can do this, believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything" soundtrack!
Adam has this way with music that it sounds dreamy and unique but still has the Adam touch. Without knowing who made this, I'd easily guess it was him.
After Apollo 11, I thought Adam probably could not get much better. After RMS Titanic, I was sure he had reached his peak. Now I'm just confused. How is each one better?!? Incredible music as always Adam. Keep it up.
i wish to meet you in person adam young my name is Lamar im 19 yrs old and your music has given me a breath of fresh air everytime i put in my earbuds and vibe to all your albums my all time favorite fireflies and galaxies. if you ever get the chance to respond it would make my day! thank you and God Bless You Adam The Angel in disguise.
Fun fact: the song "wheels down" in this score is almost exactly like another song adam made, that being "seagulls" as part of the unreleased songs of port blue.
When I first heard that Adam Young would do new soundtracks every month, I was sure that they would pretty much sound alike... Boy, was I wrong. I love them all!! Thank you Adam!
You know the most haunting score in this soundtrack? Fighting to Stay Awake. Which is what I'm doing right now, because I'm still tired. Gods, I wish I could go back to sleep...
Adam actually had a short film contest in which people submitted original films using his scores :D While not all of the songs are used, they're still fun to watch!
The first time I played it, I just used the TH-cam app on the tv... but now I'm listening to it again via headphones and MAN IT IS a whole other experience. Like SERIOUSLY. I listen to Adam so much, I forgot how many subtle things he puts in his music that you can only hear through headphones and listening closely until I had something to compare it to. This is just so inspiring and amazing.. I'm working on a personal project of steampunk elves and this is just putting me in all the right places.
Wheels Down, track 10, reveals the sum of all the feelings all of Adam's music (or at least his earlier stuff) has given me over the past years of my life. It's amazingly and fearfully wonderful sounding. Nice job Owl City.
Woow... that is soooo cool.... somehow I made it and I succeeded in my math problems when I listened to that.... and I don't believe I will say it but I now love to study and it's fun with that art.... thank you Adam Young for that....
This is better than anything Owl City has released since "All Things Bright & Beautiful" in 2011. I'll be honest, his last two albums have been rather mediocre and it's a shame that his music for Owl City has devolved from dreamy, imaginative synth-pop/electronica to mainstream, bland EDM. So I'm happy that he's doing this.
Could've partly been because of the record label wanting him to change his style of music. If he comes back, he'll definitely make something a little bit more similar.
+Alanson Cleveland Ikr. Adam said on instagram, "How in the world do you guys know Seagulls? It was never released, I never even finished it. Until now :) It's not called Seagulls anymore."
+The Factoid Firefly Productions It's seagull orchestra's "In Flight", a song made before Owl City was a thing, check it out, I actually prefer the original.
Out of all of the scores he's done, this one definitely feels the most like Port Blue. Besides the obvious (wheels down aka seagulls) Thunderhead also sounds very familiar.... Love this album!
Have you read the description? Adam said "How in the world do you guys know Seagulls? It was never released, I never even finished it. Until now :) It's not called Seagulls anymore." lol cuz we're a hootowl :)
It just kind of sounds like me. It sounds like my story, or rather my journey towards what I'm reaching for in my future. I could elaborate further with each track, but that's the short answer. :)
No, I'm no pilot. I'm just a teenager with a passion for creating stories of any kind. I've only ridden in small planes very few times (although my dad flew in B-52 Bombers in the U.S. Air Force back in the day, so I do have a lot of appreciation for aviation). But the emotional journey this score portrays is what I relate to the most out of all his others. Since you asked me to elaborate, well, here goes. For Take off, there's all of the excitement, passion, and eagerness I feel about where I'm headed and why I want to go there. It also shows the solemness I feel when I know there will likely be hard trials and hurdles ahead, and that I'm going to change, for better or for worse, if I keep going. With Nova Scotia, it makes me think of all the people who think/will think that I can't do it and discourage me, as well as the reminder that I will always have a team, no matter how small, standing behind me with help and encouragement. I am reinvigorated with the knowledge that they are all I really need. In Over Water, there's a strong sense of peace and tranquility, but also a deep thoughtfulness. Again, I think about the journey of the future lying ahead of me. I think about how scared, doubtful, and under-qualified I feel. At the same time I also feel defiant, confident, and determined, and there I am somewhere in the middle as I keep going forward. Stars Appear is my favorite. I like to think of it as my theme song sometimes. It's bright, but also has a heavier tone under it. In this track, I hear the utter joy I find in creating. I hear the constant struggle I have with responsibilities I have to keep and my creative spirit I want to use to benefit the world. Many times, reality takes the bulk of the balance, but I still manage to come back and escape for a while doing what I love (even if it takes me a while to get there). In The Thunderhead, I hear an obstacle, a storm. What this is or will be, I don't know, but I know I'm struggling (will struggle?) with it fiercely, trying to keep my head up and resolving myself to press through it, saying over and over again to myself "I will triumph over this." Ice on Wings is a bit tricky for me to describe. The mood it sounds is uneasy, shaky, and a little frantic. It's as though something's wrong and you're not sure what to do but try to stay calm and in control. I've probably come across such a state more than I realize, but it's one of those things where it's harder for the individual who's actually been through it to recognize, rather than someone who saw them go through it on the outside. The Fog is easy. It's my doubt. It's all of my anxiety and confusion. It's me lost in the fog of it all, all alone, unable to see what's coming or what to expect. It's me yearning to see some end to it and aching to see someone with me who truly understands. But there's no one. I can't stop. I can't see. I'm just stuck in this fog-like sleep I can't awake from until I finally break down enough to see the light break through. Fighting to Stay Awake is also harder for me to identify with, but I believe it's a similar situation as with Ice on Wings. Maybe I'm asleep in my creativity, passive and lazy. My internet addiction, procrastination, and the weight of so many things on my shoulders compel me to stop and waste time. One half of me falls easily into the temptation, while the other half is desperately trying to snap out of it and use my time on what really matters instead of wasting it on fleeting pleasures and instant gratification. Land Ahead sounds like a flurry of hope to me. It's like I just got struck with inspiration, or the realization that I have the time to work on something and want to do it. So I take hold and ride that wave for as long as possible, and I feel better than I ever have for a long while. I finally catch sight of a place to land and do something both invigorating and productive. I feel alive again with that same joy from Stars Appear. When I first heard Wheels Down, I actually thought I was listening to the acoustic version of Owl City's "Gold". When I think of that song, I think of a victory. I'm there. I've finally reached my goal. I finally see all of these things that I've dreamed of and imagined into being become reality. No matter what form that dream, that journey, took, I still made it. I still pulled through in the end. Even if it isn't everything I want, I know that it will still ultimately be a victory. By the grace of God, and with His help, then maybe, just maybe, I'll get there. He's the one who gave me the inspiration to start in the first place. So I'll have faith that He intends me to finish too. Well, there is my long, long elaboration! I'm sorry if it dragged on for a bit, but this really is the reason why this particular score is so special to me and resonates with me so strongly. This is pretty much me in the form of music, so I hope you like it. :P At any rate, if you actually read the whole thing (and even if you didn't), thank you so much for your time. I hope this answered your question. If it didn't, then I'm not sure what would. XD
New life goal: I will not rest until we get a kickass movie of each of these singular moments in history, with shiny scores provided by OUR MAN ADAM :') ♡ And thank you for getting these out there, snydergurl321 :D
I think the exact same way. If anyone is a fan of Adam's music, i know that they are humble and innocent and lovely and dreamy and always calm and best.
I love how I have only seen positive comments on this video, makes me happy that Adam has such great fans😊
Somebody hire this guy to write the score for a major film. Please.
Yes, please!!!!!
Apple got him to do some ringtones awhile back, does that count?
He's wrote music for movies before
RIP Dreamworks' Me and My Shadow. Adam was supposed to make the soundtrack for that movie
@@superbrightbrat7647 man I'm so sad, the movie even seemed like a good concept :(
Goosebumps from Take off track, anyone?
Same
The first track is the greatest thing from the 2000's I have ever heard. It became my "you can do this, believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything" soundtrack!
Yay im not the only one who feels this!!!
I cannot get enough of Takeoff. It was the perfect way to begin this score, with its uplifting and optimistic sense of adventure.
How on earth can adam be so underrated?
Karin Swenson bcoz other like junk music
He’s our precious hidden jewel, not spoiled by today’s aggressive fame 😊💓
Because Adam is very unique
Because many persons like stupid music Instead of proper one.
Adam has this way with music that it sounds dreamy and unique but still has the Adam touch. Without knowing who made this, I'd easily guess it was him.
i really love "Takeoff". THE vibes.
YASSS!
After Apollo 11, I thought Adam probably could not get much better. After RMS Titanic, I was sure he had reached his peak. Now I'm just confused. How is each one better?!? Incredible music as always Adam. Keep it up.
+Isaiah Garner I totally agree! RMS Titanic blew my mind.
Project excelsior ;)

This feels so UPLIFTING just wow!
I was listening to Wheels Down saying to the track "don't end yet, don't end yet, don't end yet..."
Same.
Wheels Down reminds me of the entire album Ocean Eyes
Let's take off from Port Blue and start sky sailing
+Kolo Kent I'd be the happiest person if he releases something like Sky Sailing!
+Kolo Kent Sky Sailing on the Windsor Airlift, straight to Insect Airport.
+Sunil Manandhar Adam has said there will be another sky sailing album.

a lot of these songs have such a Port Blue feel to them, I love it!
+Robin D. I also sense an All Things Bright and Beautiful vibe. With a hint of Maybe I'm Dreaming.
+Jordan Sprinkles I just hear Owl City in general.
Fun fact: the song "wheels down" in this score is almost exactly like another song adam made, that being "seagulls" as part of the unreleased songs of port blue.
It's so nice to identify the parts that were in the preview!!
Such an amazing score!!
When I first heard that Adam Young would do new soundtracks every month, I was sure that they would pretty much sound alike... Boy, was I wrong. I love them all!! Thank you Adam!

Everyone here is being so positive, because that's who Hootowls are :)
someone needs to make a movie with this idea and soundtrack
Adam actually had a short film contest in which people submitted original films using his scores :D While not all of the songs are used, they're still fun to watch!
Everyone's talking about Wheels Down but The Thunderhead is always what did it for me. It's so... imposing.
Definitely my favorite track on the album. I can just see a thunderhead on the horizon at night, all lit up with lightning.
Stars appear is the one that does it for me. Imagining the night sky coming to life. Beautiful.
The perfect girl for me would be one that loves Adam Young's music as much as I do
truuue, #lifegoals
My life in a nutshell.
Okay, let's go watch Flames Pond and go on adventures listening and singing all Adam Young songs. even his scores and Port Blue. we'll go a capella :D
+TH-cam Sucks Dat name doe
+James Byrum Oh, why thank you!

Wheels Down, Stars Appear, and Take Off are my favorites
Ice on Wings, chills anyone? These totally inspired a bunch of poems for me.
Alana Perry bro same i love writing to this ♥️♥️

The spirit of st.Louis is better that other scores :) Coungralations Adam :)
Beautiful beautiful sound
Now to replay this album repetitively 'till the end of the month and I have memorized the entire thing completely.
So good! Loving seagulls rendition as wheels down!
These new projects are every part of Owl City that I loved and none of the parts that I wasn't so hot about. These make me so happy.
The first time I played it, I just used the TH-cam app on the tv... but now I'm listening to it again via headphones and MAN IT IS a whole other experience. Like SERIOUSLY. Probably the closest stuff yet to Owl City, sure is hella uplifting! My favourite score so far from the 3 scores he made, so beautiful!
Wheels Down, track 10, reveals the sum of all the feelings all of Adam's music (or at least his earlier stuff) has given me over the past years of my life. It's amazingly and fearfully wonderful sounding. Nice job Owl City.
I once introduced Owl city to my friend... SHE NOW LOVES IT AS MUCH AS I DO

a minute in and i'm already in love
I’ve flown a Cessna (type of small plane) and this music describes how it feels 💯 %
I think these scores should be in movies.
Amazing album by Adam.
Maybe my favorite out of all the score projects.
Beautiful instrument. I like this...
Who else thinks Wheels Down sounds like Vanilla Twilight???
It sounds like seagulls.
+Alanson Cleveland Ikr. Adam said on instagram, "How in the world do you guys know Seagulls? It was never released, I never even finished it. Until now :) It's not called Seagulls anymore."
+John N Agreed. ;) So beautiful.
+The Factoid Firefly Productions It's seagull orchestra's "In Flight", a song made before Owl City was a thing, check it out, I actually prefer the original.
Douglas North I think we can all agree that the beginning is a very popular tune for Adam to use.
Out of all of the scores he's done, this one definitely feels the most like Port Blue. Besides the obvious (wheels down aka seagulls) Thunderhead also sounds very familiar.... Love this album!
+Liz Gore Thunderhead sounds like "Arrival At Sydney Harbour".
+Felipe Souza Yes! Thank you! I couldn't remember which song it was..
Thunderhead also kind of sounds like Drive Vs Fly by Color Therapy.
Oh when the day will come that Adam Young creates more of these amazing scores :)
I have been waiting all month!
Cannot WAIT for the next one!
+Ethan McNichols Hey same here! I can't wait for next month's score...
When Wheels Down started I yelled "SEAGULLS" and now my whole family thinks I'm an insane seagull stalker 😂

Electronic is OWLSOME!
dude, this is what I will be listening to when working out!!!!
heavenly
Still one of my favorite scores- if not my all-time favorite. I especially connect to this one on a more personal level than others. :)
Why's that? (PS: it's probably my all-time favorite scores too.)
It just kind of sounds like me. It sounds like my story, or rather my journey towards what I'm reaching for in my future. I could elaborate further with each track, but that's the short answer. :)
