Always heart-warming to see the next generation discover how much raw fun 75 horsepower can be in a well-balanced car. It took me twenty years to realize a 400 hp LS in a two ton car is just boring despite what everyone says.
@@GarageTimeTV With less mass the car becomes much more agile. Even with a lower weight/hp ratio the lighter car will be more flickable, like a go kart or motorcycle. It's also more fun being challenged to use ALL the horsepower curve (without breaking too many laws). I see from your garage you're a hard core Fiat enthusiast. I've really taken a shine to them lately myself - especially the X1/9. It is the perfect little car in my view. But I'm not 6'5".
Great video. I saw a lot of cool Fiats, even a Lancia, but no 850 Spiders. Yours would have been the only one ! It's the one everyone would have gravitated to, lol. Next time, eh ?
I own an x1/9 for a while now. It took me ages to find out, how to shift into third gear smoothly. It‘s funny though to see how tiny this car is compared to all the trucks. Even on german roads I see only wheel arches when I stand next to an SUV, but in the US, with all the absurdly big cars, that‘s a whole different level :)
a Monster Pizza (3'x3') will fit in that front trunk, I have worked solid since the 90's after an injury, started deliveries again in a nice 1500 X1/9,,, grazie e pace from Texas
So many cool Fiats , plus a Montecarlo and was great surprise to see Shaggies Giulia Quadrifoglio with his GTAm replica wing . I follow that car on Instagram 👍🏻
Love it the, mini lites? look great on that car. I had one back in the late 80s chocolate brown with a fawn interior, I loved it but between being a teenager with limited funds and Fiats disappearance in the US at the time sadly it had to go away. I would love to have another one, but sadly buying one with less than 10K and rust free is a lot more than the $300 I paid for mine......
@@GarageTimeTV LOL, in the time since my post I have been searching and found one on FB for I think it was 1100 in OK for someone that wants a project. I am waiting for the steal!
That would be an awesome car to have if people didn't all drive SUVs at 90 mph on the highway 😳... I had a chance to buy a 1988, very good condition, very rare to find a 1988.. for 800 bucks a few years back 😒😪
I had one of the first X19’s in the country in 1974. I couldn’t afford the Lamborghini so I ordered the mini version. It was a blast to drive on the many canyon roads between Beverly Hills and the Valley. Thanks for reminding me of how fun small sports cars were back in the day. If I may critique one aspect of your delivery it is the overuse of the word “guys”. It seems to be a common much overused word here on TH-cam. So stop it and separate yourself from the herd. Otherwise I quite enjoyed this video.

Weight to power ratio is everything!

@@cratecruncher6687 I make them work despite my height. When you love them, you make them work!
Great tour of that X while driving. Love this video and all the great energy and smiling faces...nothing like a Fiat crowd on a beautiful day!
I wish we could’ve all stayed longer! It was so fun driving an X. Never had before! Thanks for watching!
I bought a new X1/9 in my senior year of high school 1974 , $4,400....thanks for the video
Nice show. Love the 124 sedan and the yellow coupe. Never should have sold my coupe.

Next time is the goal!
The build quality and electrics may be below par , but the design concept is perfect . Italian design is passion ! . Great video x

Yes! It really forces you to watch out because they won’t look for you
Yeah, I think a taillight and light bar should be mounted on the top of the targa to be more visible.

That was my very first car circa 1985. Same color too. I loved it, but it was a POS.
Well… no car is ever perfect haha!
I was also driving an X 1/9 in 1985; it was the 1976 1.3, lived the car but it was in the shop every week

My first car when I was 16 was a 79 spider, my brother when he turned 16, he at an 81 x1/9. I love his car more than mine. Lol
How cool! My goal is to own one after driving this one!
Nice video Marshall! Great editing as usual. Some of those cars are NICE!
Next time, you need to come!
Loved that Fiat! ❤️
I did too! I hope to be able to drive it again sometime!
Loved the gray Fiat spider! Very well done and clean!
I’ll have to check out yours! I didn’t know you had one.
@@GarageTimeTV I own a 1979 Fiat Spider. I have been doing many upgrades to my Sofía since 2012 when I bought it.
@@WishMeLuckMetalDetecting I have a 1978 Spider too! I haven’t done a video on that one yet.
@@GarageTimeTV cool! You should show her!
@@WishMeLuckMetalDetecting I will! She’s always hiding in the background lol

Ya, they are definitely more on the “needing work” side. But we gotta save them!

@@speedbuggy16v they are out there! Also join the XWeb forum. It’s mainly for X 1/9s and lots are for sale there too.
@@GarageTimeTV cool, thanks!
Just pointing out the obvious..this is an excellent car for this show…but that was 4 months ago. Mr. Timely, that’s me!
I have one! Its on my channel in my $5000 car collection, my Bertone X1/9 (not a Fiat in 87)
PARADISE!
It was so awesome to see them all. Never enough time to talk to all the owners though!
my 1970, 850 spider fit in ???
More the merrier!!
That was a nice group of Fiats gathered, where in TX is this club meet?
This is the Houston area! We had some drive from Austin as well. Mostly Houston though. We are a very active group!
Not a lot of 850s...
Ya well... they are harder to come across lol. Luckily, that will change soon! ;)
there would no sounds if you shift quicker at the right rpm. If i remember correctly you should not shift up under 4000rpm

Man I would’ve jumped on that!
dude at 10.00 is a long way from home ... Yorkshire Uk
He’s a character, but a great friend!
You have to double clutch third gear.
I didn’t even think to try that!
Im 28 years old and a fiat x19 is my first car
They are super fun cars!
What color is that x19? Red or orange?
Red!

Love your videos but I would suggest getting rid of the music while driving. I would much, much rather hear the engine sounds!!
Luckily, that can be easily fixed in the future! Thank you for your input and support!
We say Fee it
I’ve heard some say it that way depending where they are from. I always find that interesting.

Une x1/9 pas un ....
its small cuz its made for italian sized people.
