I am 39 now I think I have it together with my work attire. It is worth it to get quality pieces, I mix and match pieces

How about having more colour? I am colour loving women who loves mixing and matching colours that give life and character to the outfit. How to play it right with work outfits for the 30s? For instance, can I wear a red blazer or pants? ..etc. I am still hooked on the 20s style 😬

You can wear whatever you want, but unless you have unlimited space and money most normal humans do not have alot of bright color in their professional wardrobe because it doesn't compliment as many things, and is harder to pair. I love neutrals, because they are a biut more chic, and they have more versatility, but there is always a place for alovely dress or top in a great coolor that makes you skin glow.

I turn 30 in a few months, looking to revamp my closet soon, I've incorporated more mature clothing but can't let go of my younger generation stuff. Also I've realized clothes fit me a little better when I shop the adult sizes, my hourglass figure can be a challenge.

I love this Style for the Ages series! I'm a stay at home mom (and will enter the workforce in the next 5 years once my kids are in school). I just turned 30 and I'm struggling with a wardrobe that's 1. Fitting for my age, 2. Fitting for my casual yet put together image, 3. Possibly transitional into a career wardrobe within the next few years. Help?

I think that black slit midi would look soooooooo nice for a summer business casual Friday... Like, when you have plans after work! I'd wear it with pointy loafers for sure- preferably something in a luxurious skin, and a longline tuxedo-inspired sleeveless blazer! ...mandatory red lip

I am 31 and a stay at home mom since my first child was born 5 years ago. So while I love all your videos and content I do miss the non-professional side. And I believe that most women have children and go through non-professional phases how ever long or short they might be...
    Thank you!

Yes. Would be nice to get a non professional video for 30s.

saudadedeinkinka I think the first shirt would look nice with jeans and flats/loafers or smart sneakers- maybe roll up the sleeves and unbutton a little to reveal a lil dainty signature jewelry or even a soft scarf (good for hiding baby spit up).
All the pieces are great! Maybe just style them more casual.
You could totally put plain white keds or chucks with your old work dresses, an easy topknot, and a sleek leather diaper bag for a "cool mom" vibe. Why get all new clothes?

Hi lauren! How does one know if either silver, gold or rosegold suits the most? I like all of them but I don't know which to choose and how to style it. Could you make a video about it? Thx ☺️

Thank you Lauren for another fantastic video with tips that we could use. Totally agree with your comment on wearing a bit of accessory could totally make one stand out in the office. I think you mentioned that in an older video of yours and that totally happened to me at my workplace.
Besides Stella McCartney, would COS also be another go-to label for someone in their 30s in your opinion?
Also, I'm wondering if you could make a video on caring for white shirts? You made an older video on this before but I am referring more to how you can wash them. Mine usually turns from white to off white, I'm left thinking if hand washing them is the only option left *gasp*

Hi Lauren!! Really great tips for dressing in your 30s for work. Do you think you could make a style video for different professions? I ask because while I absolutely love the styles you showcased in this video, I would find some of them difficult to wear as a healthcare professional who actively treats patients and does not wear scrubs to work. Could you maybe do a series on wearable professional outfits/style for different professions? I think that would be so helpful. Of course if you’ve already made a video/s about it, kindly direct me to it/them. Thank you so much for all you do.

Thank you Lauren, this has been a bit of an eye opener. I believe that this explains many of my fashion issues. I only recently graduated from university (possible here in Germany and I took a little longer due to illness) but I am in my early thirties. Dressing like most of the people I went to university with is inappropriate because trendy doesn't work for me any more and I'm also too old to dress for a scene (goth, punk or w/e). Or rather, it doesn't work for me. I respect if people can dress for a scene authentically past their mid 20s.
Many of my friends my age are young mothers and adapt their style to that - simple, practical, and often outdated because fashion shopping isn't really a priority. Also not really something that works for me.
I am only you at the very beginning of starting a career so I can't really dressed for an existing one. There is no role I have to fill yet. In past jobs work uniforms covered most fashion questions for me.
But you mentioned quite a few things I can use as a starting point to develop a new wardrobe. One that is not so much based on "What is everyone else around me all wearing and what of that would suit me?" but more on what I want to achieve and represent.
I also have to make a decision on how much of a girl and how much of a woman I want to be. I'm a little on the fence about being a 'boring adult' but I obviously want to be taken seriously, too ;) But I guess that is something you can play with - which could be great fun.
Sorry for such a long rant! Thanks again!

I'm in my early 30s and I've always had a keen eye for what I want my style to look like.
I've mostly had jobs that had a color scheme so now that I'm out of management in retail (i.e. Black or Red/Khaki) I'm going to start dressing the way I want to...especially because I'm going to move to Spain and want to express that side of me.
I've always been a Banana Republic/The Limited/Ann Taylor for more adult & reasonably priced clothing and pair it with great accessories.

Part of the problem is the idea that women have to "look young" bc "young is pretty". So, we dress our insecurities and not ourselves. I think young women look beautiful in tiny shorts but it's not me. However, I do want to look like I know how to use the search engine of the NYT.
