MY GRANDFATHER built all built in hutches , cabinets. & shelfing and small wood shutters for the sun rooms and other windows also built install doors & windows oh floors and wood trims through out this house. He also built the garden shed attached to the garage. If I remember next door neighbors house he built their entire sunroom & their garage. This was in the late 60s & early 70s that he did these projects. He got his Masters in furniture and cabinet maker in the 50s. And that was his hobby, week-end, holiday, vacation, spare time & relaxing job. He said he goes full time when he retires from butter making. While he was a butter maker in the 40s or the 50s his butter won one of the top 10 butters record of the world competition held in the Netherlands.
So he was a perfectionist in everything he did. Also his grandfather and father was professional Tailors. So his first career was 2 yr. Apprentice tailor + 3 yrs professional tailor in the 20s. Didn't like it full time but loved it as a hobby.
He was jack of trades. He would do wood work at a house notice the man going to work in a suit offer to tailor fit the suit free of charge as a thank you for hiring him for the work project. And when he got paid he give them a couple pounds of butter free as a thank you for hiring him .
Just thought I give a little history of the woodwork put into the house with kindness and respect. He lived in Edina and Crystal suburbs when he lived in Minnesota in the 70s. A lot of houses in those 2 suburbs he worked on and a lot of mansions in the Twin Cities like Oxford Avenue St.Paul.
Thought I would give you a little add on history to this house.
You have a great day. Thank you for video and seeing my Grandfather N.I.'s craftsmanship. All painted white looks nice too.
