None of us could say for certain who was going to win the $300k before the fights...but every single person alive knew exactly who WASN'T going to win that $300k. Each of you know exactly who I'm talking about right now.
Not sure why people hated on Aljo's performance. Crazy dominant in his first fight moving up a weight class and his opponent landed 4 of 6 strikes? Or something wild like that. Calvin did the look at the clock and shake his head in defeat bc he was getting dominated and could do nothing about it. Not a huge Aljo guy but he is very good. Shit DC was hating on his wrestling heavy performance and then praising Bo Nickals...
People dislike Aljo for 3 pretty clear reasons. 1.) His fights are always boring. You're on UFC 300 and you're 1 of 2 on the entire card, 13 fights, 26 fighters total...and you get booed. That's after Dana offers up 300k bonuses and you still got booed. There's a reason why Aljo has been in the UFC for so long, and as a former champion is making less money per fight than fighters who aren't and have never been champions. Winning isn't everything in the UFC, Mighty Mouse will tell you that. And that's not fight style. Islam, Khabib, Arman, Olives, Jones, DJ, GSP, Hughes, Henderson, Silva, Penn, Diaz, and a multitude of other fighters all spent a huge portion of their fight time on the ground and didn't get booed as often as Aljo does. 2.) He's insufferable out of the cage. It's the same issue Izzy ran into during the Romero and Cannonier fights. He talks a massive game, blows his ego out of proportion and then lacks the self-awareness to understand that all the nonsense he talks doesn't translate to the performances he puts on. That disconnect makes people dislike him more. When you're the only one in the room giving yourself compliments, there's a dissonance that everyone picks up on and tries to avoid. Aljo possesses anti-hype, the more he talks the more people want to avoid him. He would unironically be a more likable fighter if he lost the ability to talk; that's why the UFC didn't give him a chance to ruin the card further after the Kattar fight. 3.) His DQ win over Yan will forever haunt him, and anyone who was a fan of the sport when that fight happened will never let Aljo live that down. This is just compounded by the first two reasons. If his fights were exciting, and his personality wasn't insufferable; people might forgive him for lying about the knee. But he's incapable of that, so the fans will never side with him.
@@BlahBlahFreeman dude you just posted a novel on how you dislike a guy who has lost 1 fight since December 2017. "Aljo sucks bc Yan is cool and illegally kneed the fuck out of his face, what a pussy". Great breakdown. Your biggest knock on him is wishing he 'unironically lost the ability to talk'. Sorry your upset Yan is 2-4 in his last 6, I like him too. But the UFC was literally booking Aljo as the best BW of all time. Was he? no. But to disrespect him bc his style isn't fun is just something you gotta get over buddy, this is MMA not muay thai. yikes
Aljo is wild, most dominant? Try boring. Max was clearly the most dominant because he was 10-8ing Justin Gaethje most every round only to finish off with a face plant KO. Next Alex, then Jiri, then everyone else then finally in last place is Aljo with "dominance"
@@OptimusSatanas trust me, Poatan is my favorite and slept Hill EASY but it didn't take much. He is a master striker. Max was kicking ass the majority of the fight against someone who was supposed to beat him. To me proving you are better for that long is dominant. Alex Periera did exactly what I bet on! Because he is that guy. I bet on Max by KO but not R5.
Armin needs to be aware of how what he does looks. His defense of the choke was apparently on point as he needed to flatten his body however the way he went flat looked like he went limp. He relaxed his body so much a ref could have thought he fell asleep and stop the fight. His face was down to the floor and after long seconds of adjustments he goes limp. Could have been stopped. It would have been wrong but he needs to be aware of it before it bites him. Just like the funny taps Jiri does mid wrestling. One day, it may bite hime.
Aljo had the most Doninant "grappling match" in an MMA fight...yes, but did zero attempt to strike and damage...Aljo is trippin. It was boring AF, and he didn't even get the finish. Just wrestle Fd the dude.
The 'smelling salt' thing was so weird, we've seen this done multiple times to fighters, they just press under the nose and it opens up the airways, try it out on yourself. They did it on Pereira when we got wobbled at the end of one of the rounds in his first mma fight against Izzy.
I tend to agree with Emmett... maybe depends how you look at it. Fighter "harder"? No of course not, you're always in it to win it... Taking more risks for a better chance for that bonus, yeah I think so.
Sterling is doing what he feels that he has to do to keep doing what he's been doing which is fighting in the UFC, so by putting a positive spin on what he does makes an argument for keeping him around and considering him for matchups.
Sterling was just holding him on the ground wasn't even trying to finish at all he was just riding out the clock wtf is he talking about it was the most boring fight of the night 😴
Moicano handled things like a true vet. Shows all respect and knows where he is at but still has the confidence to step in with max. He won’t get the fight but still…you can’t not like that dude.
Holloway 4 pics look like those memes where people transform into other people.... Max starts as himself and transforms into Tony Ferguson!!!! "song only real fans know" - Max Holloway is the type of bro to go up in weight and trade blows for the KO! Max Holloway is the type of guy to never smoke weed but always seem high!
Aljo is right, he dominated Calvin. Aljo's fights are far from boring, the way he mixes wrestling and bjj is beautiful. He's also active on the ground. The fans that say he's boring are the same fans that praise Colby.
I LOVE Charles as much as the next guy but Arman is right and Charles being the Jits expert he is should know this too. Going belly flat while someone has you in a D'Arce stops them from getting as much leverage as possible making it survivable
I called it from the start. Charles doesn't have the ability to submit high level grapplers. He can land it on brawler types like Poirier and Gaethje but he fails to do it when up against someone who knows how to grapple. People put him up on a pedestal as this god tier finisher when all he was doing was beating the guys that never had a chance to win the belt while Khabib was around.
Figgy, green, and jiri were not more dominant just cause they got finishes. Aljo was like 6th most dominant lmao. The fighters i mentioned either got rocked or their strike percentages are even. Aljo made kattar miss 3/4 of his sig. strikes and landed 50% while 8/13 on takedowns. Pretty impressive and I respect the confidence. Lets see him and evloev now😂
That’s correct in your case because you are a power puncher and like to give your all, but you know damn well that there are a lot fighters who don’t have that KO style and will get motivated to try more for more $$$ , that’s a big jump in bonus money

Sterling hands down WORST most BORING fight of the night
He actually was pretty dominant. A lot of hate in the room.
He hung on for fear life and was never even close to finishing the fight. Simply surviving and holding the fight at a stalemate is not “dominating”. Latter was never in any real danger of being finished or even hurt. wtf u talking about?
@@Ugly_Scallywagg He’s obviously trolling you guys. You guys still mad he does his *book bag move* & no one can escape it. Like the kids say, *cope harder*
My older brother once pushed my nose in like that & it worked. I stopped fake crying & started crying for real, it's valid tech.
The funny thing is her corner misunderstood and also thought he was using smelling salts. "Breathe! Breathe!"
The cornerman actually gave her a dirty Sanchez to wake her up. Oldest trick in the book and not illegal.🤣
Breathe cause she has to.. it's not magic, it's acupressure
You just completely made that up
@@ImUrZaddy who?
Aljo needs to realize nobody cares about the fight statistics they just want to see a good fight. You will never be a successful fighter if you can’t realize you’re also an entertainer as well.
💯🎯
Moicano vs Max would be a fantastic fight...but hes right max is on another level.
I just became a huge Moicano fan. The way he addressed the Holloway question is all respect. I love that
Man is delusional…his fight was so bad he didn’t even get an INTERVIEW in the cage!! The guy who got the belt faking he was hurt from illegal “missed” strike😅
🤣👍
I get what Aljo is saying..the most dominant performance in 300 was between Alex, Max and Aljo as their opponents were never really in the fight. The issue is Aljo didnt ko his opponent so his dominant performance was overlooked and rightfully so..Aljo needs some knockouts on his belt or hes going to become a featherweight version of Derrick Brunson where all he does is shoot a single leg and smother.
LAST
U first lol cause ur msg 38 secs guy is 1min
It wasn’t smelling salts, they used an acupuncture point called governing vessel 26. They applied pressure their similar to acupressure therapy. It’s indicated for wakefulness and can even help prevent seizures.
First
Damn y'all really hate aljo that much in the the comments.... the fight was boring, but he was dominant
Thanks for the video mmaworld
LOL THE CREATOR IS SO DESPERATE FOR COMMENTS
Mam sterling just doesn't get it.. Zero killer instincts. if he was a mortal kombat character he wouldn't having a fatality. Finish fights u admit buddy had no defence against u. Yet sterling tried to finish him fir maybe 30 seconds of the entire fight
The way you could hear rogans demeanor change when they mentioned smelling salts.
Sorry Aljo I'm pretty sure first round KO's by Alex and Diego are much more dominant than a decision lol
If the UFC removes the "no knees to a downed opponent" rule, Aljo retires the same night. He is like watching paint dry and he'll never be a "star" because of it.
None of us could say for certain who was going to win the $300k before the fights...but every single person alive knew exactly who WASN'T going to win that $300k.
Each of you know exactly who I'm talking about right now.
Ain’t that the truth lol
Haha, yeah.
Idk why he gets so much hate dude fights similar to khabib and ppl act like he's close to being the 🐐
Not sure why people hated on Aljo's performance.
Was he? no. But to disrespect him bc his style isn't fun is just something you gotta get over buddy, this is MMA not muay thai. yikes
When I look at that, I think Pereira was the dominant one... dude needed what 4 punches to end a fight? That's dominance in my eyes.
DC should be fined for claiming a fighter was cheating on air...
DEFINITELY. Bros a hater nowadays
Aljo is wild, most dominant? Try boring. Max was clearly the most dominant because he was 10-8ing Justin Gaethje most every round only to finish off with a face plant KO. Next Alex, then Jiri, then everyone else then finally in last place is Aljo with "dominance"
Hard to compare going 5 rounds with a knockout last second vs knocking a dude out in round 1 after a couple punches...Poatan was more dominant.
Arman don’t gotta explain shit, the Gracie’s already established the technique
Lmfao the end 😂😂😂
I watched the fight live and twice more afterward and still forgot Aljo was on the card.
Aljo had the most Doninant "grappling match" in an MMA fight...yes, but did zero attempt to strike and damage...Aljo is trippin. It was boring AF, and he didn't even get the finish. Just wrestle Fd the dude.
MMA WORLD, You're awesome! Let's be friends, okay?
The 'smelling salt' thing was so weird, we've seen this done multiple times to fighters, they just press under the nose and it opens up the airways, try it out on yourself. They did it on Pereira when we got wobbled at the end of one of the rounds in his first mma fight against Izzy.
aljo is so boring, i literally when to sleep during his fight. i don't care how dominant he claims he is.
💯👍
Every single one of Demetrius Johnson’s impersonations was 95% spot on amazing
I tend to agree with Emmett... maybe depends how you look at it. Fighter "harder"? No of course not, you're always in it to win it... Taking more risks for a better chance for that bonus, yeah I think so.
Props to Moicano for being humble....he has a good podcast!
I just became a fan of recanno because of how humble he is. Love to see it
Aljo isn't wrong. Calvin Kattar landed 19 strikes in the whole fight and was controlled for over 10:30 minutes. It was a complete shutout
Sterling is doing what he feels that he has to do to keep doing what he's been doing which is fighting in the UFC, so by putting a positive spin on what he does makes an argument for keeping him around and considering him for matchups.
I'd love to see Nick back. That drug ban robbed him of his prime. Now guys openly smoke on their podcasts.
The only fighter in the main card who didn't get the octagon interview I Laugh so hard
Serra-Longo is the most boring gym to have ever marred the sport.
Whatever helps u sleep at night Aljo, but we can't ignore that your performance also put everybody to sleep.
Aljo is right, he dominated Calvin. Aljo's fights are far from boring, the way he mixes wrestling and bjj is beautiful. He's also active on the ground. The fans that say he's boring are the same fans that praise Colby.
Nick in better shape here than we he fought Lawler with his “comeback”
Ending was hilarious
Now how can mighty mouse do it so accurately but EA sports can't seem to figure it out lol
So glad Sean knocked aljo out and he isn’t our champion anymore
Figgy, green, and jiri were not more dominant just cause they got finishes. Aljo was like 6th most dominant lmao. The fighters i mentioned either got rocked or their strike percentages are even. Aljo made kattar miss 3/4 of his sig. strikes and landed 50% while 8/13 on takedowns. Pretty impressive and I respect the confidence. Lets see him and evloev now😂
Bro I didn't even know that Aljo fought until 4 days later. And in hindsight I hoped I never did.
Matt Serra always accommodating to the fighter he interview’s
That’s correct in your case because you are a power puncher and like to give your all, but you know damn well that there are a lot fighters who don’t have that KO style and will get motivated to try more for more $$$ , that’s a big jump in bonus money
The MOST boring fighters in The UFC, Aljo, Usman and Belal.
Let’s just generalize it to all wrestlers.
Nope don't involve Usman Aljo, Belal and Islam.
Yeah! Aljo's performance was that dominant that even Joe Rogan didn't post fight interviewed him
Also people, the pressure point at the base of the nose is NOT smelling salts!! try it, it is amazing ; )
Il take 2 of whatever Aljio is on , bro tweaking 😂
Well, Aljo isn’t lying. He dominated one of my favorite fighters who only threw 12 strikes.
