It looks like fun but I'm waiting for the cafe stop feature that Bluetooths to my coffeemaker.

thank you man, avoid watching video with content i'm not interested in.
They need to incorporate the "virtual push", so if you see someone struggling, you can ride up behind the and give them a push. When I was struggling with back problems, I had some friends that would ride up beside me and place their hands on my lower back to help me get through a tough area. (safely of course)
I didn't think I'd like Zwift as much as I do, but I love it.
I ride more. It's great for structured work outs. I'm in better shape then I've been in years.
That and watching GCN for motivation for making cycling fun.
Zwift has revolutionised my bike training. So engaging and motivating and, most importantly time, efficient. The biggest problem is restraining from riding hard all the time.
if they would like to achieve a perfect level of realism and capture the essence of actual riding, they should have an idiot run you off the road in a car once per week and an annual complete run down by a car with matching Intensive Care Unit 5 day stay ensomble...keepin it real guys...welcome to life...throw in a few flat tires on the finish break away and we're golden...
I’ve just recently gotten on Discord during a group ride. How about a “how to” about communicating with others while riding - the social aspect of Zwift. Love GCN!
I wish you would go through the dashboard a rider sees while riding Zwift. Like what’s up with the map view?
Love Zwift!! The perfect companion to indoor cycling (at least for me) when conditions outside don’t favour riding ;)
I honestly had to idea about some of those features, thanks GCN!
I got so excited when he said "invisibility cloak." Please forgive me, I'm from the south in the US so anything that combines a British accent and Harry Potter makes me very happy
Very helpful. Just started with Zwift. Now I know what those funny little icons mean that pop up on the left of the screen!
Literally just about to do a 30-miler in Innsbruck in about ten minutes' time. Loving the constant new courses and improvements. Great training app, fun to just ride or set goals and serious training programs. I'll hopefully hit level 17 before today is over.
I just have to try the steering feature. That is so cool!
A Dogma and a Kickr Climb for Zwift, you’re such a baller Si
Steering is so cool! It needs to be a part of all road rides with an ability to bump into riders and, naturally, avoid them. Now, that would take Zwift racing to a totally new level :)
I showed my Zwift setup to my mom and her first question within like 2 seconds “can you crash other riders” XD have to admit it would be fun hehe
Nice one Chris Opie. Looks like you got the Fuego Flats Reverse Jersey at 7:31
I'm just getting started with Zwift! Being not very tech minded it's been a challenge setting up, but I hope I'm there! Just shifting the flu and then.....!!!
Im doing the Gravel Grinder workout series. I started it last week. It's kicking my butt so far! I will have to try the off-road part the next time I free-ride.
You let the guy pass so he wasn’t in your selfie but you didn’t wait until the “close the gap” text had left the screen 😂😂😂
@@RaulVeldhuizen It's on the companion app under dashboard, you have to swipe the icons to scroll to the right, the camera is the last one I believe.
The fastest climbing bike combo is the Specialized Tarmac Pro with the ENVE SES 3.4 tires.
Finally something Si and I have in common related to cycling. We have the same keyboard on our Zwift setup.
Omg, if they're going to perfect virtual steering, virtual bike racing will become a sport in the future!
Zwiftees are like Trishits - put them in a pack & they'll cause a crash. The triguys party good, though!
It's already a sport, and last related news I saw was that UCI is considering a virtual classification.
I'm just now getting hooked up for Zwift. My first big goal is to reach level 12 and do the Alpe 'du Zwift.
Have you done it? How was it? I started Zwifting a few days ago. Currently I’m level 5, will do Alpe course as soon as I feel ready 😅, but even the 15% climbs in New York were brutal.
My number one tip is DON’T USE APPLE TV. On PC the game is gorgeous and runs at a smooth 60 fps. On Apple TV it’s about 480p resolution and runs at about 15fps. And I have the newest set that I bought just a few months ago.
I wish I'd have known that you can select a route, AND then select a workout and you'll get credit for both. The workout will follow that route, and if you complete the route before you end the ride, you'll get credit for said route. This is especially great for hard workouts and can get you a good amount of the way up the Alpe Du Zwift on your way to the 25 Alpe achievement.
Oh, and the easiest ways to get drops that most people don't know about, is to pedal downhill. Since the speed of drops that you earn is based on watts, speed, AND steepness, pedaling downhill nets a huge pile of drops as a result, even pedaling gently.
One more I thought of, is how to give up to 5 people near you a ride on with one click, but using the "map" view on the Zwift Companion app, and zoom in far enough to see a white circle around yourself, and tap it to give the five closest riders a ride on. This has a limited range of about 30 meter diameter though.
Bonus: You can give people in the oncoming lane ride ons as well, you just have to time it carefully and press the button right as they draw even to you, headed the opposite direction.
naughty word on Si's wrist at 3:57 :P
Yep, then a quick bike change, bike changes back and then naughty words are all gone.
I know this will have some folks spitting out their gel or electrolyte in horror, but... The great thing about Zwift is you can exercise while... doing something else like watching telly! I stopped cycling on roads due to deteriorating sight, but Zwift means I can still get the exercise, but staring at the screen isn't that exciting, but an hour or more quickly passes while watching telly - it would be much easier if there was a pan flat route for just clocking up some KMs - suddenly finding a cliff in your path doesn't half detract from the show! I'm sure it's a great training tool for those that want it, but it's a decent home exercise tool for the rest of us! Instead of watching telly eating pizza, I can burn pizza while watching telly.
I don't understand why you would pay for zwift when you can watch the telly using any trainer not connected to zwift and get a fine workout.
Tacx already did steering with tacx black track a few years ago....
thanks this was very useful.
How about something on zwiftpower.com and the events, races and tracking of power details/syncing with Strava?
Unlike what Si claims regarding the Guest World rotation, the Bologna course is an event only world which is, much like the most recently released Crit City, never available for freeriding. However as mentioned there's daily events hosted on both Bologna & Crit City so these worlds are ridable at all time.
Anyone gonna ask why Si was on Ollie’s Zwift account? You can see when he is riding that it says “O. Bridgewood” 😂
Can you group all of your Zwift related videos in one folder please. Thanks
ooohhhhh so thats where black mirror got that episode idea from! (the drops)
Ramp test is fun but returns some 20+ watts more than the 20 minutes FTP test. That's not only my experience. So for a more realistic value I'd suggest the 20 minutes FTP test.
Bologna is not in the rotation, though, only in events. It should be mentioned that London and New York appear way more often than the other worlds, as they are larger and offer more circuits, which is a shame because Yorkshire is a super fun ride, but you usually have to wait a couple of weeks to see it again.
1. Go to Zwift calendar
2. see what date Yorkshire is on
3. go to PC settings -> Date and Time
4. change the date on your PC to the date of Yorkshire
5. save
6. open Zwift and you will be in Yorkshire (probably by yourself)
7. enjoy
OMG I love your bike!
I just started a trial of Zwift. I like it, but right now I'm just using my phone as the main riding screen and my old eyes can barely read the tiny font. I may have to work out how to get my laptop set up in front of my bike so I have at least a slightly bigger screen. Unfortunately, my current workout environment isn't conducive to me setting up a nice big flat screen tv in front of my bike. lol
What is trick to riding faster on hills? Higher cadence? Higher watts?
You are steering with the Wahoo Climb! 😎 Did you have anything underneath to allow it to swivel or just use tiny movements? Great vid BTW. 👍
Lars Great to know, cheers. 👍 I have mine setup on the Wahoo mat and was worried about tearing it. Can’t wait to try steering now. ☺️
chills996 I have to say, the lifting feature of the climb is not the greatest thing ever. It somewhat laggy and doesn’t feel too realistic. The increased stability, especially when sprinting, and the great pivoting, makes it still an upgrade regardless.
Lars I love my climb and haven’t found it too laggy on Zwift. I doubled the length of the bike in settings to compensate for riding on 50 % difficulty. Totally helps relieve the boredom when training and hopefully work different supporting muscles when I’m riding at different angles. Is never gonna be as realistic as real life but every little helps. 😁
For a basic indoor trainer, which sensor is better to fit: cadence or speed?
wish you could use the bike you have irl without having to save up virtual currency! I've already spent months saving real money for it!!
3:56 f*** yeah wristband :) family show etc
How is that frame rate so smooth? Everything I play it on looks jittery like 15-20 frames per second
Oh, forgot... the gravel bikes are not yet there. At least not on iOS.
I ride a Challenge Fujin SL2 recumbent low racer. Can Zwift replicate the aerodynamics of this bike?
While I will never be faster than Simon on the bike, I am at a higher Zwift level.
What did you push on your keyboard to see different camera angels? I couldn’t understand what you said.
He said “Nought “ to press on the keyboard. In British English that is the word for the number zero (0) 3:10 what I found online shows that the F10 key on the keyboard is the one to take a screenshot/photo. Hope that helps and happy riding/selfie taking!
Great vid. Any chance you could fit in tutorials on cheaper trainers like the cyclops fluid 2 eg😁
I wish the price was nicer! Like it used to be
for the camera angle, what key is it you said to press before hitting the arrow keys?
Which trainer are you using? I’m guessing not all that features are available on a mid to lower range trainer?
Hi, nice info, thanks. I was wondering, as I hear a lot of different things, your opinion about riding a carbon frame bike on a direct drive home trainer, such as TacX Neo? Is it safe? What should be avoid?
Is it possible to create a specific jersey for meet ups ?
Which keyboard Button on 3:09 to press??
Yea but how do you ride them big climbs, if I want new to zwift could I ride them, or do I got to reach a certain level
I’m following the XC Training Program & would also like to be involved in group rides. As suggested I’ve accepted a group ride, picked my training that I’m following & started, at the appropriate time I get dragged across to the group ride, however my training program stops.
The group ride is a no drop, I’m keen to continue with my training & be part of the no drop group ride.
Can you advise on what I need to do for this to happen please.
Can I ride every day without over training? 40-60 min rides?
my avatar frequently stops and gets off his cycle. i use a non smart trainer with garnin speed sensor 2 and garmin watch and the phone ap. i have tried everythng suggested on garmin forums but nothing has changed. does having many blue tooth devices hamper with the connectivity
Counter steering?
I have ridden Zwift a lot over the last year but have never seen the Burrito or Ghost power up?
Same. I’ve got a pretty high level on Zwift too and have NEVER seen those.
I don’t race though, and given the nature of those power ups, guessing it’s only an option during races.
When did the ghost and burrito (re)appear? I know the burrito existed long ago.
Can you fall off in swift if you turn too fast? The potential to fall off would definitely heighten the skill ceiling
How to use with Keizer M3i
can someone explain me how I can film my screen while riding on Zwift? thanks
Rather enjoyed the #fuckyeah wrist band cameo at 3:57 myself.
Can you edit the HUD yet?
I'm sure the GCN team could get Valve out to do a Steam VR setup for Zwift and have actual virtual reality.
Im still waiting for my trainer to come in the mail. Do you shift while riding?
How can I get the „GCN“ dress on zwift?
Nice wrist band at 3:57 #fuckyeah
When the tactics appear on Zwift, how do I deploy them? Is there a button I need to press?
If you are running Zwift companion on your smart phone, just tap the icon for the "power up" icon you see on your screen. Then it will start.
Another 9 minute advert for zwift!
If Someone decide to run full-feature zwift (smart trainer, all the ant+ stuff, wifi, tv, smartphone, computer, etc. Etc.), Using only the pedal power, for about 1 hour, how many watts the person has to sustain?🤔
Thanks for the tips. Now a tip back to you... watch the jewlery that is being worn by your models f***Yeah# could be offensive to some and does not add to the video. Keep up the great videos.
#AskGCNtraining. I have recently joined Zwift and I am wanting to improve my hill climbing speed. I saw the GCN Power Climbs workouts and I am wanting to know if these should be completed seated in the saddle or out of the saddle?
Around 150% FTP is my limit for keeping a good cadence when seated, am I losing anything when standing when above 150% FTP? Is it worthwhile trying some workouts standing rather than being seated?
Thanks
GraemeMcN i would recommend finding a real hill to train climbing. Zwift is useless for it.
Try some SST workouts. Try to gradually increase your FTP over time. I usually do these sitting and a cadence of 90 - 95. I'll stand for a few seconds now and again just to change my position. I believe that sitting is more efficient than standing especially for longer efforts.
Went off Zwift because not really into the full racing scene anymore, plus only having a dumb trainer and a rescue bike as my indoor set up it was a bit of a bore. With only a few routes to ride it became tiresome. I have not given up with any indoor sessions though, I use Rouvy which at least has plenty of variety and seems to work well Algorithm wise with a dumb trainer set up. All of my indoor sessions are soft pedal recovery rides, although this year with my shoulder injury it became an important part of maintaining my fitness plus interest with the myriad of routes on Rouvy.
Small undertitling mistake: aero instead of arrow
Are there more n00bs like me who like to squeeze their breaks while on the trainer? (Using Zwift)
A problem could arise when you are on a bike with hydraulic disk brakes! So don't forget to put some sort of block between your brake pads in the rear (and maybe also in the front) !!
:-|
How do we get the GCN kit?
@@vancelopez9787 Press "P" on the keyboard and type "GoGCN". Find more kit unlock codes here: zwiftinsider.com/kits/
Can I use my mtb on swift and still keep up with roadies?
👏
i guess without the cameras you might stop off at a few Cafe stops.
where can I purchase your kit? It looks really awesome.
Another tip used by racers in the know, save your Van Power Up for the final sprint in a race. It will give you a clear sprinting power advantage over others that dont have it. FTW
I try Zwift periodically but find it really demotivating because the power settings seem to be so inaccurate. As an example, I joined a ‘recovery’ group ride that was supposed to be 1.0-1.5 watts/kg. I was putting out 2.5 watts/kg and still getting dropped. I have commented to Zwift support but heard nothing back. Is there some clever trick in the settings or is Zwift just rubbish?
How do I go to Alpe Du Zwift? I have tried to search for it and can't find it. Do I just have to watch "Events" to see when it is scheduled?
First, you have to be level 12 to go there (unless you enter an event that goes there - then all levels are allowed). Then just select "Road to Sky" as the route you want to ride.
@@cjharrer01 You can also get there by starting on the Jungle Route, head down the hill and turn off to the right. You'll see a glowing gateway. I find the run down the hill makes a nice warmup.
I have been trying to change my avatar to female and cant seem to do that. Just has head shape and hair style and all styles seem to be male
what am i not doing
Is there a trick to getting the ghost or burrito power-ups? I've never gotten either in my nearly 17000 km of riding, and neither has anyone else in any of the hundreds of group rides I've done.
supertuck! zwiftinsider.com/supertuck/ to be honest, i've never used it on zwift, but I did enjoy rewatching stage 8 of tdf 2016 - epic craziness!
Already completed it. 😐
Which one of the new Zwift features is your favourite? Do you use Zwift? Let us know in the comments below
I just discovered Zwift today, and I looked at your previous tips video this morning! Can't believe the timing of having a second one come out this same day.
I would love to use Zwift so much, but I need to work on finding an affordable trainer, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for deals. Hope to see you and others out there on the virtual tracks some day!
It’s not a new feature but one of my favorite features is how flexible they are with setups. Like I just use rollers and a 4iii single sided power meter. But I could also use one of many smart trainers, stationary bikes, or even just a cadence/heart rate setup if your trying to save money. Also being able to use it on multiple devices helps too.
@@lilwillie428 Do you have issues maintaining power with the single sided? I have a stages single sided with a fluid trainer. It doesn't even track cadence if I'm doing pedal drills and the power fluctuates wildly at times. Which is a pain during workouts where you need to maintain X Power.
Bosco 215 it seems to work fine for me, I haven’t tested it agented anytime else but power and cadence both seem to work. I haven’t been able to really do a all out sprint as it’s hard to balance or get enough resistance after 600-650 watts. I think the connection is even better than my old cyclops smart trainer(also don’t have any problems making shure the tire sits right with the right amount of tension), but never tested side by side as I had to sell that to get the power meter.
You could try moving your computer(or whatever you run zwift on) closer to your bike to see if it helps with connection, also with Cadence it pops up as 2 devices with the same name at startup, so if it doesn’t say anything under cadence censor, try connecting it to there
If that doesn’t work Your power meter might just be having some problems, I heard mixed reviews about the stages from friends so that’s why I went 4iii. But I still had to get mine warrantied this spring so it’s worth looking into
@@Bosco-nq2kk I've got single crank 4iiii & Bontrager cadence/wheelspeed sensor setup on a Kinetic Road Machine (no power controller). 1 sided PM works very well - more responsive than just the wheel speed, but not as responsive as a smart trainer or direct drive. I haven't tried leg drills, but a friend did the other day & that workout didn't go well with 1 legged pedalling (as you might expect). Maybe for those days, you have to disable the PM as a workaround & just use wheelspeed
