Out of all the interviews so far, I felt Simon's personality was well captured. It made then watching the M+109 session even better. When he hit 200 and then 250, incredible. I loved his quote "my only rival in this sport is the barbell"
its nice to see a interview with Simon outside of gym setting, he seems much more relaxed and softly spoken. He def switches in on when he is infront of a bar tho.
The car accident made him more humble. because i read that this guy was cocky and selfish, He believed himself to be the last Coca Cola in the desert.
@@johnescobar9951 Weightlifting is not just about Olympics and it's not ez/healthy to keep cuting weight all yr or bulking up to massive weight where they are not going to have chances vs the big guys.
@@pateHNBTA i agree with You, but I wanted to see to Akbar in the olympics ,but not in the superheavy, the weight cuts are deadly, but if Uzbequistan had AKbar as their Best card to win gold again,it was more logical for hm to go down of weight to gain weight
Thank you for the interview! Wouldnt think that Simon is such a nice and humble guy

What language did he speak in the interview? Russian or Armenian?

He also went to war in 2020
@@soldierside365 you're talking seriously!
@@haroldpepete I am indeed, he fought in the war against Azerbaijan in 2020
@@soldierside365 i didn't know that, armenian people are nationalists

Simon Matirodyan and Akbar Djuraev should be down, superheavy for them is a big Mistake 😢😢😢
Akbar is back to 109.
A 120kg class would be perfect for guys like them
@@pateHNBTA but 109 is not olympic category
