This is so great. I really like the part where you add lines 2 and 3 for Teams and Zoom and compare that to the audio only line. This helps to get a better understanding of the product and the config files.

I know this post is 2 years so I'm wondering if you still have this folder available to share. I also tried to sign up for OTD, and although it seems I've created an account, the dashboard is blank. Do you have any instructions of getting permissions to access OTD?
Hi Jan - just to let you know what I've learned thus far - I've been able to point my 8500 to a web hosted picture of the Chicago Skyline for a TV background and I've also been able to point my Teams Lobby, Zoom Lobby and BlueJeans Lobby speed dial icons to your hosted icon files (I hope they never move!). I'm also using your xml notebook to edit the posted files you shared. If you invest in RealConnect, BlueJeans or Pexip - you should be able to get years of service from the 8500/8800/Visual Pro combo. Plus you get an open system. While I am very interested in the newer Teams-only devices and their advantages - I fear the minute I put them into production - someone will want to have a Zoom meeting on them. I'm hearing that the C60 might provide the ability to pivot like that. So many videos for you to make!
Thanks Adam for sharing! Thats great to hear some feedback. Did you also try People Content IP App standalone or via the USB cable in the Trio? This will give you also the option to share in any video meeting which was only possible with VisualPro using HDMI in.. btw just grap any icons and put them on your own web server as the web locations I use in the cfg examples are temporary.. I agree this should work for a while and give you all the flexibility in platform usage etc.. in the future when a specific platform becomes main it make sense to move to Native devices like X30 , X50 or G7500.. super interesting times with these native apps lot of innovation 💡 is happening on that front.. we keep the ☕🛠 📽 coming...
@@janzoetemelk Indeed I did test both the People Content App as well as the wireless Content App (which seem to be two sides of the same coin). It works nicely. I will try and find some icons for us to post on our own webserver per your recommendation. Can you put them in your Google Drive to share - by any chance? The thing that's tripping me up the most right now is that I'm setting up the 8500 in Generic Mode and Line one is registered for basic SIP phone dialing. Works fine. Then I use your Trio Teams Line 2 unregistered and your Zoom Unregistered Line 3 - and I get the beautiful speed dials that put me in RealConnect Lobby and Zoom Lobby. But the join buttons grab the audio conferencing information rather than the VTC information and make it what you call a 3PIP call. Do I need to use the "registered" lines instead? I'm really close. And I know this works. I just don't know how to do it right.

The Skype for Business on-premise doesnt have any meta data in the outlook invite you can only work with Skype for Business online or Teams account (Cloud based) to work with 3PIP voice gateway to Teams (includes the redirect meta data). See also the blog of Jeff Schertz chapter 2 "gateway mode" - bit.ly/3i7YdH6 In case you want to test 3PIP voice gateway to Teams you need to use Teams Account (Cloud) or use RealConnect for Teams service including video. I think you are running into these limitation...
Hello Jan, great video, thank you for putting this together. I am running into an issue where after importing the Zoom-Unregistered-Line2 or Trio-Team Line 3unregistered it's giving me error on the phone " URL calling is disabled " I didn't do the OTD option. What i have is a Trip 8800 in the Generic profile where Line 1 is getting used as a Zoom Phone line with DID. I am trying to have Line 2 and Line 3 for Teams and Zoom so we can dial out for the meetings and use the Visual + and Logitech camera for video presence. Any assistance would be great. Thank you!!
Hi thats a great question. Your are building a nice config. What I am suspecting is that there is maybe a parameter conflict. Its usually better to factory reset then load the configs one by one as in the video.. in my example Trio's baseprofile is Skype to make sure it can dial via 3PIP gateway to Teams (when no Realconnect). I would recommend to try that also see if these examples one by one work. The URL calling is also a parameter in the configs but also in the web interface to enable that for a specific line.. hope it helps.
Hi Jan, I tested the trio with your suggestion. What I found is that after the factory reset I loaded Zoom Unregistered Line 2 and Trio-Team 3unregistered before assigning Line 1 to Zoom Phone. Line 2 now dials but disconnect and Line 3 dials teams to Poly realconnect but then I provisioned the Zoom phone to line 1 I start getting the URL calling is disabled for Line 2 and Line 3. I tried looking for the URL parameter but I couldn't find it in your config or through the web interface. I am using Version 7.0.1.1144 as that's the version Zoom provisioning supports. Would you please provide me some more assistance and direct me to the URL settings through web interface. Thank you!!
Also, here is another thing I noticed from the testing, I was only able to get Line two and Line 3 configs to install if the base profile was Skype for Business. Once it was there and I provisioned Line 1 with Zoom phone it configured the profile to Generic where zoom phone works but then rest of the configs are URL calling is disabled. I also tried factory reset > Generic > and Configs that didn't even put the profiles on the speed dial. It definitely seems like Zoom is doing something when provisioning but the problem is Zoom or Poly support may not support as this multi-function environment setup is not part of their setups :-(.
@@cooljazzy29 thats a great question and now I understand the "url dialing disabled".. this might come from Zoom provisioning settings and mess up the local mixed platform config.. I haven’t tested that scenario with Zoom phone but remember if want to build a mixed platform config with Zoom Phone you need to make all changes in Zoom Admin Portal anything local could be overwritten by Zoom provisioning.. I would suggest to see if you can build a line 1 Zoom phone config manually and then enable line 2, 3 etc or get in contact with Zoom how to handle mixed line config... keep me posted...
Hi Joseph, thanks for your message you got multiple options available today for Trio 8500-8800 -> 1 is use Trio in Open SIP profile with RealConnect or PexIP CVI - see my xml examples on my google drive and change to your own needs .. -> option 2 is the new Microsoft Teams SIP GW free of charge but doesn't do video - see here a good reference bit.ly/3S6VEq0. Hi Ismail thanks for your comments. The Trio with Visual+ or VisualPro just uses H.323 and SIP. I know PexIP has a H.323 SIP interop gateway to dial into Google environment so this might be something to investigate.. I have shared XML examples on my Google drive which you can easily adjust to your needs.. hope that helps... ☕🛠
@@janzoetemelk I have the trio and visual + but today I spoke to Polycom and they said you can use with Google Calendar/meet with OTD. you mentioned in the video that OTD is free but apparently its not. you have to buy OTD license from a polycom reseller (only) for $230. I wonder if there's a work around to use with Google without buying a license
@Ismail El Yazami Hi Ismail the One Touch Dial (Cloud OTD) is free of charge for Poly products like Trio, Group Series, StudioX etc. Be aware OTD is pure a mail proxy that generates a "join" button on a Poly Endpoint based on h 323 or sip info in the meeting invite.. this h323 or sip info in the invite is usually a subscription with an interop gateway for example RealConnect for Teams, Pexip to talk to google.. as Trio V+ can not directly talk to these platforms.. see also my other videos on OTD and RealConnect.. hope that helps... ☕🛠
