I loved the under current of playfulness between them, while Rochester is trying to act like the stern master, but you can see the warmth and tender side of him .

He will always be Rochester to me and what I loved about this version was how she brought out the warmth and humanity in him. I loved the playfulness between the two of them. How they enjoyed each other's company - it just seemed more natural to me. I know they are both complex characters full of passion but that on full tilt all the time is a bit overdone. Make it cerebral and high and mighty - a bit stiff and distant from each other- and you wonder why they bother. I think these two got the balance right and they never shied away from the sexual attraction they had for each other.
This 2006 adaptation brought out the secret warmth and sense of fun in Mr Rochester, he wasn't always the brooding ,angry and bitter man. I loved this version the most.

When Hinds’ Rochester doesn’t go in for a passionate kiss (which would be understandable), but instead holds her close and lets the tears flow we see how much he deeply loves and needs her. This scene is endearingly touching. Both Jane and Edward have been through so much heartbreak.

Там, может, нет такой душевности, как здесь, но он настоящее произведение искусства - свет, цвет, мизансцены, ну и, конечно, игра актёров просто завораживают. Я периодически пересматриваю то один, то другой, в зависимости от настроения :)

Even if I'm a certified male chauvinist pig , this Ruth Wilson's Jane Eyre depiction can still make me teary eyed esp. in that scene when lightning and rain came falling down around a solitary oaktree after an outburst of passionate emotions spewed forth by the couple ala Beauty And The Beast (Blanca Suarez style). ................From the Philippines with love !

although I like older movies and versions of books and stuff. I find that the pairing can be a bit weird because the male lead looks a lot older than the female lead in older versions. I've only seen the 2011 version
Love the actors. But the story line doesn't completely follow the book. I was especialy disappointed when Jane tells him about Mason and he doesn't say I've got a blow Jane! Since when did Blanche's mother take over the party scene? And this supernatural stuff.
What? He is very kind keeps the child of that woman who cheated on him, and that crazy woman who destroys his life his marriage with Jane , he is disappointed with his past, but he has a sweet kind soul and loves Jane sincerely.
