Susumu Hirasawa is a genius, to be able to not only understand perfectly the atmosphere of a series but to add more to it, simply adds the icing to the cake that is Berserk.
y'know what makes this song extra awesome to me? The fact that it sounds so triumphant, yet it's after what is really quite a humble victory. In another story this song would herald the hero destroying every last evil-doer, saving the world and getting the girl, yet all that happened to Guts was: He got a new weapon against the God Hand, Caska smiled at him, and he got a rest. It sounds pitiful, but in the world of Guts, that's every birthday come at once, which to me makes this song awesome :)
YES. Its epic and majestic... and yet it leaves a feeling of longing and ... I imagine instead of celebrating.. the heroes just rest or walk up to the people they were fighting for and just hold them..
Just when I read you, I remember and read how much Guts did. Even if the anime can't adapt how much depth and writing Berserk has, the OST are the closest thing it's great for the manga

With no conclusion to the story but miraculously, the friend of Miura still remember his discussion with Miura many years ago and will helped finish the story of Berserk. So can we all agree that Guts was supposed to be the primary sacrifice of Griffith to transform into Femto? Can we also agree this is the case because Griffith actually loves the hell out of Guts? The general nature of the sacrifices by those chosen by causality generally are best friends or closest lovers as a token of sacrificing the last shred of whatever made them human after all.
Ivory Mantis Griffith's love for Guts was always mixed with possessiveness, and in the end he came to fear and hate Guts for being the one person he couldn't possess and control. Even before the Eclipse Griffith had growing resentment towards Guts - first for "distracting" him from his goal, then for "taking" what was "his" (Casca + the Band of the Hawk). The God Hand just pushed him to let that resentment take over. That's what the whole rape of Casca was all about, Griffith's revenge on her and especially Guts for "betraying" him.

So in the end if Griffith really came to hate Guts, it wasn't because griffith couldn't control him but for the year of torture he has passed that led him to hate him although there was no reason to do it. The fact that he fucked up everything for Guts leaving is something that suggest me that Guts, that was the only person that Griffith truly liked and found interesting, was special to him as person.
I do believe greatly that Griffith actually loves Guts. Anger, hate, bitterness and jealousy doesn't mean he doesn't love him it just means Griffith is human as all the god hand once were. Griffith definitely loves Guts.

Like for round 3 they duel like they did for the 1st time they met but Guts is calmer, and Griffith is the one losing his shit. i dont know why but i fucking LOVE this panel, maybe its because it does an amazing job at highlighting just how small Guts is in the grand scheme of things, especially in comparison to the Godhand which is depicted as this larger-than-life hand, yet despite all of this, he'll continue to fight and struggle for what he loves which is what makes him so great as a protagonist.

Man, berserk is such an amazing story, Hauntingle beautiful and dark, one of the only few things that actually peaked my interest. One day i'll write something inspired by it, same goes with dark souls.
There are few reasons, Berserk is well... kinda treated badly due to it's 2016 and 2017 "masterpieces" so a pretty underrated story and also the fact that its on the ps2 game that is only available on Japanese ps2's and the fact that its the second version of the song
