I have the 45mm FF 5015, black dial titanium on the bracelet. This watch is built like a tank; solid. Yet so finely finished. It's beautiful, robust, reliable, mega accurate all while being understated. I love it. I got mine for a smidge over 25% off. If the 42mm version is anything like it's sibling, I absolutley recommend it. If you're worried about the 42mm size, know that it will wear smaller than that. I suggest trying it on if you are able to do so. The sticking point is the price. If you want one of these, be patient. Wait for them to start filtering through on the secondary market over the next 12-24 months, then all being well, you should be able to find one at a more reasonable price.
@@voland1 I bought online from a grey market seller, who quoted the price. They sourced the watch from an Italian AD, but with a signed warrantry card.

That said, sail cloth dresses it up but is the least comfortable. It’s stiff even after lots of break in. Nato is by far the most comfortable. Bracelet is a good summer option.
This is a new favorite. I'd go for the titanium with the bracelet. Went through a phase of leather, sail, and Nato, but now I'm only doing matching bracelets. I need to add one of these to my collections soon.

Tried this on yesterday! Currently in lust. I would definitely go for the titanium on bracelet. I would add a sail cloth and rubber strap upon purchase to swap around though the hex bolt might slow me down a bit.
Put half down on the Blancpain fifty fathoms blue Titanium on rubber pin buckle should receive it 2 weeks or so can't wait, I tried three version on and it's compact with short lug to lug and wears really comfy on the Ti23. Forget the gold ca$e; titanium is perfect and significantly cheaper. Black dial is nice but blue looks much better to my eyes. And for goodness sake, no NATO straps on this watch, please! It's already thick enough as it is and there's no point in obscuring such a beautiful movement. Bracelet looks great. Tropic and sailcloth straps (with deployant, of course!) look great as well!
I have the Bathyscaphe on the sail cloth/rubber strap with pin buckle. It's my favorite strap not on a folding clasp. It doesn't have the friction problem that rubber straps have. And I haven't noticed any fraying of the stitching like I had on my Dark Side of the Moon watch. That's my pick.
I have the FF “Dark Knight” in 45mm and a FF Chrono, also in 45mm both with sail canvas strap, which is by far the most comfortable and best looking piece for the FF. No need to downsize to 42mm for me but can understand many with thinner wrists will feel happy to wear it finally.
Today I tried on the blue dial in titanium with rubber strap and sailcloth strap. Very nice watch and the bezel movement is truly unique - very precise and smooth, and less metallic sounding than a Rolex Submariner - I think it’s rotating on ceramic or the like. It’s pricy but you should be able to negotiate a hefty discount to at most ADs - avoid the boutiques.
Beautiful with references to the vintage. Ti + bracelet and throwi in the sailcloth for me. Very interesting case side profile and ‘bubble’ case-back to hide the thickness. Makes the lugs stand off the your wrist in this video…
I know it's expensive but I would buy it in a heartbeat on a rubber strap with a regular buckle. And let's not act like you're getting a Submariner on sale anywhere and it's not even on this level in terms of movement and finishing.
I like the look of them although a little thinner would have been better . The prices are crazy , not long ago you could pick up the larger models pre owned for around ten grand US .Now new 16 grand US ? Crazy . And the prices for the other models ? Insane…Who is going to pay that ? Not me . I would pay ten grand for one pre owned on a tropic strap, otherwise no thanks. New I would MAYBE consider like 12K but not a dollar more ; I think they got their pricing way wrong .
To present a 20k luxury diver on a nato is just wrong. Add another 2mm to 14.5 and you're floating. Glad to see the 42 finally arrive. I do however think that they could have taken the opportunity to refine the case and lug design. The lugs still sit a few mm off the wrist suspended rather than curve around it like an Oris Aquis does or a Cartier diver for eg. Love the watch as I own the 45 but they really could have blown this one out of the park and done damage to the competition. But will they.
Well I would buy the black dial with tropical rubber strap along with regular buckle but I would ask an extra sail cloth strap in case I want dress up for events. I have a standard steel Fifty Fathoms already, just need to wait few more year to buy its “brother”

@@swampThaang No, I was comparing the same materials in different sizes.
