I experimented with mixed alcohols when I was living in Baton Rouge and young but as I got older the headaches I would wake up with the next morning after experimenting with 9 or 10 different drinks on Saturday night go old. LOL
Eric I finally found dragon fruit and I now understand why you are so passionate about it.Nothing compares to this fruit in taste. Thanks for introducing me to something I never tried before. It is hard to find in Oklahoma but worth hunting down and trying. I found it in a small Mexican grocery store. I don't know what variety it was but it was great.
Eric, I found your biltong videos and quickly subscribed to the channel. Your content is awesome! Seriously, keep doing what your doing this is quality stuff
An easy one would be elderberry flower infused vodka. I have a few gallons soaking now from our wild bushes. Having a hard time not drinking it before finished.
It would work even better with everclear. You'll just have to proof it down once you are finished unless you like it that strong😅. Once it's finished, add water at a 1:1 to reduce the strength down to 95 proof (47.5% alcohol). The longer it infuses the stronger the flavors will present themselves.
Nice. I was never a fan of gin, due to the "hair spray flavor" imparted by the juniper berries. Being able to craft a less potent version, to my own tastes, opens up a world of exploration and possibility.
Quick Question, besides the .25% pink salt when curing sausage,,, is it necessary to add regular salt?? Does the pink salt completely cure the meat on its own or does it also depend on a % of regular "Kosher or sea salt"?
I’m not a fan of the super piney taste…my taste buds are weird-I’m one of those people that cilantro tastes like soap…I’ve tried it many ways, and it all tastes like someone squirted dish soap in my mouth. One tiny piece kills out any other flavor- That is how I am with gin-the less juniper, the better! Thank you for sharing this and broadening the spectrum, while still paying tribute to the juniper berry.
You'd have gotten extra points if you had tried the hack of putting cheap vodka thru a carbon filter...maybe try that for another video on it's own and see if it actually works.
☠️Plumeria??? Did I hear you correctly? Add "dried Plumeria?" All parts of the plumeria plant are toxic....☠️ ((Fun to custom create but be very careful to research toxicity on flavorings))
I will make this. I shall

Got our first dragon flower blooming tonight! Thank man
Wow. What variety?
@@2guysandacooler have no idea. My wife bought it five years ago. She’s big into Philodendrons but I’m trying to convert her to plants you can eat😁
Yet another great video Eric! I'm a long time distiller...I'm gonna make this for sure. Have a great afternoon nap!

Very informative. I use some of the same ingredients in my mead that I named Jörmungandr Blóð.
ohhh.. I bet that's tasty!!!
I pull a vacuum on mine with my chamber vac and move it in and out of the freezer every other day, hot and cool speed ageing
So, I'd basically be turning myself into an alcoholic if I were to experiment, so I'll just keep following your recepies for the time being xD
Hello Eric, exciting recipe thank you. Can i do this maceration with everclear? I have some everclear but no vodka

I caught myself taking a whiff of my screen as you opened the jar for straining 🤣🤣
😂😂

Maybe just a hint of fresh Tarragon wouldn't be a bad idea.

regular salt is also added to the recipe to properly cure and help bind the sausage. They work together.
Thank you so very much for responding. I really appreciate your channel. You have great content
Dragon fruit i have many in my yard growing wild but unfortunately you have to go to Bali first
Greetings from Belarus! Your recipes lift our spirit a bit when we fight here against proRussian dictatorship to help our Ukrainian neighbours)

Very nice Vedio
I felt like i didn't bring enough alcohol to the show. Also, i think juniper is cedar tree not pine. 🤔
Lol. I'm talking more about flavor not necessarily genus. To me it has a piney taste 🙂

😅YOU have the best accent…
