    I bought that 6th sense multi rod sleave. I can fit 5 combos in it and walk the bank, it works well. If you are looking for an awesome reel for squarebills and stuff get the SLX MGL 70 or curado MGL. I bought one and it is a light lure, squarebill slinger, handles light lures like a dream

    first comment...boom! anyway, i wouldn't overlook daiwa. their tatula elite are nice, smooth and long casting. i WAS always shimano, but gave daiwa a shot and never looked back. whatever you do...DO NOT buy a daiwa steez sv tw or daiwa steez A...because you might not fish anything else ever again...expensive tho. i fish sniper and assassin heavily and i prefer assassin...knots do hold better with sniper. i wish i wasn't lazy when spooling my reels...i don't even tie a knot...just some scotch tape to stick line to the spool and off i go. i mostly run 100 size spools to get around backing as well; just try to find good ebay deals for sniper and assassin. a 100 size will last me a few months too...and usually snip a couple feet off after a few sessions when tying on a different lure. i notice you run line through all your eyes...i just run through the first eye nearest to reel seat when spooling. in any case, thanks for sharing.

    • @cheezyridr
      @cheezyridr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have a daiwa jdm sv lite ltd i use for throwing small baits, and it's pretty bad-ass. expensive, but worth it. i also have a curado dc i like alot, but it wont do what the daiwa can. the daiwa won't cover the curado's turf either though.

    • @HBeretta
      @HBeretta 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cheezyridr i personally think the daiwa steez sv tw and steez A are hands down the best baitcasters on the market...easily. i have the new metanium 2020...i've fished the antares A...and slx dc reels...chronarch mgl. the steez sv tw is 5 and a half oz...so light and so smooth. now all i do is save and buy daiwa steez sv tw or A reels...patiently on ebay any chance i get...low balling as much as possible. my first daiwa steez sv tw i got was on ebay for $375 brand new...they needed the money; i got lucky. what sets the daiwa steez apart is the magforce braking and sv spool. shimano's svs infinity braking is...ALRIGHT...but for those who use line conditioner like i do prior to fishing there's the chance it'll seep into the sideplate and get the polymer braking tabs and brake plate wet with line conditioner which makes the reel erratic when braking until that line conditioner dries up or is burned away by the brake plate friction. the steez sv tw has far superior magnetic braking so this is never an issue along with the spool basically set to be a free spool. i can cast a 1/4oz swimjig into 20mph wind and not backlash with the steez sv tw with a quick click of the dial...no sideplate to remove etc...even then the spool is so light once the lure stops pulling the spool stops spinning but it casts a mile as well. yeah the shimano DC reels are nice but they're also 2 oz heavier and it might not seem like much but once you fish a light reel it's tough to go back to standard weighted reels.

    I'm a Shimano fan as well, for squarebills I found the curado 70 performed way better than the 200, with squarebills your not making super long casts,it's more target casting and the smaller, lighter spool of the 70 fits well with shallow cranking,imo. Maybe something for you to try. Enjoy ur content,one of the few channels of you tube I like.

    • @JustinRoyal
      @JustinRoyal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, the Lux Series 7.5 Heavy Fast is plenty for frogging. You don't need an extra heavy unless you are fishing super thick cover. I prefer a regular heavy over an extra heavy for frogging. Better hookup ratio too.

    I had been looking at grabbing a 6th Sense rod for a while and finally had the chance to buy one. Went with an ESP 7'2" MH Mod Fast. My initial reaction was that these rods feel and look amazing. The sensitivity is great and they're extremely comfortable and light. But in the end, I ended up sending the rod back. These do not stand up well to wear and tear. The rubber coating on the handle is extremely thin and ended up scraping off just after a handful of uses. I put the rod in a rod holder and just from the minimal bounces from being on choppy water and from taking it out of the rod holder, there were multiple places where the coating came off, which left just an exposed metal surface underneath. I'm also not the biggest fan of that style of hook keeper. When I'm fishing a texas rig and pulling line out, sometimes the line would get caught in the hook keeper.
    This could just be me being picky, but I'd much rather have a rod that can hold up to some abuse. I don't want to have to think about babying a rod when I'm switching back and forth. This is just my experience with one 6th Sense rod. I'm definitely tempted to try others that have foam grips instead of the coating. But if you're wanting something that can handle some abuse, I wouldn't recommend the ESP series.

    • @JustinRoyal
      @JustinRoyal  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I beat the crap out of my Heater Series rods. No issue. Also never scraped the coating off an ESP but I understand why you feel that way. Lux and Heater are the most durable of them all and will take a beating.

      Not particularly. I’ve been using my 150s a lot lately and am starting to come around on them. They are both awesome reels. Can’t go wrong.

    JAPANESE REEL!! Try the shimano scorpion mgl or dc that would be so sick and its supposedly better than the curado dc!

    Man I just got the Shimano Scorpion MGL, it’s like the Japanese version of the Curado, but it’s a dark red! It’s sick, and I love it!

    Hey Justin I’m looking for a rod that could throw a curve finesse, crush 50x, lipless cranks, and maybe even a weightless fluke do you think the 7,2 medium heavy ESP rod could handle all of that? Or what rod would you recommend to handles that?

      Just try to get more of a moderate action for treble hook lures, for flukes and other single hook lures, a fast action will help set the hook.

      @@legionssb777 thanks man this gonna sound weird but you know one that could perform both in one because I fish from a kayak so Im limited to only around 4-5 rods

      You can use a fast action for cranks, it’s really a matter of if your going to be a professional tournament guy who needs to land every single fish but a fast, or moderate fast would work fine, especially if it’s a Crankbait specific fast rod. And different people like different things, Justin throws chatterbaits on a moderate rod and I throw them on a fast action rod. Lews has a new KVD series that has a good selection of very versatile rods, so if that’s what you want that might be a good choice for around $100
