Larnell is as relaxed behind the kit as the rest of us are on a rainy Saturday afternoon, watching movies on the couch. The man is so musical and creative, has crazy chops and is so deep in the pocket that he might be part kangaroo. The video where he plays Metallica is great too.
Part of what makes this ridiculously good, is that sprinkling of Drumeo studio magic. They always manage to bring out the absolute best of every kit they put a mic to.
yes, I'm a huge Bonham and Peart fan ...I've been living under a rock and was not aware of Larnell. Holy bleep !! And the snare /floor tom ! wow what a great idea.. Peace and love brother 👍🏻☮❤

He's a monster drummer. I've listened to many of his videos and the one thing that really stands out to me, is that he always gets the hits right on the money and keeps everything grooving and moving! Awesome musician.
Larnel Luis is not only has great drumming skills, he knows song structure and plays for the music without being too over the top, yet shows his incredible skill. The other thing I have noticed with Larnel Luis's playing that I find incredibl is, he uses a single kick petal that most hardrock/metal drummers use a double kick for

Just wow! I first heard of him on your channel and then watched a video of his last week playing "Enter Sandman" on first try after hearing it!!! Absolute amazing musician!!!
That video was phenomenal. For me it was also a a reminder that, regardless of the criticism that Lars has gotten in recent years, the man wrote some of the best metal drum lines of all time.
To me that video was an example of how Metallica was so basic that larnell not only learned it in one take, with no notes at all, he then played it better than lars ever could. And I actually like metallica.
Totally agree with you. Love Larnell's playing. He's the perfect harmony of drumming chops and musicality. Everything he plays sounds and feels great. Always deeply part of the song, never a drummer who happens to be playing a song.
"What About Me" is one of my three favorite Snarky Puppy tunes. Really dislike this cheesy synth knockoff, but it demonstrates Larnell's virtuosity wonderfully. MEGALikes.
