My mother is Russian, but she was born in Kazakhstan in a used-to-be secret village. The village was not shown on the map, because there was a uranium mine (which is closed now). My grandmother still lives in Kazakhstan, the nature fascinates me every time I travel there! I have some relatives in Almaty, but I've never visited the city. Thank you for showing your journey and inspiring me to travel more!

Um. Actually Belarus is not a part of Russia. It's an independent country although we have some unions with Russia (like Customs union etc).

Aloha. I am a sleep technologist, been studying sleep medicine for over 14 years and also travel quarterly, internationally. You may want to invest in a portable light therapy box or one of those light therapy glasses (you can find on amazon). I have one and its help me tremendously, fighting jet lag and switching to day/night shifts. I have NEVER taken a sleep aid or melatonin too, and I work nights. So far no health issues. But yeah, the light therapy will help you both out especially keeping you healthy -- because we want to keep seeing all of your adventures! Mahalo.
